Highly recommend the property. Excellent greenery and vistas from the poolside and the restaurant. A lot of minor things are very well taken care of and leave a memorable feeling. The welcome is very well done with music and flowers, the evening aarti is really nice touch. Pool and surrounding area is very relaxing. The highlights of course are the peacocks! |On top of this, excellent hospitality by Mr Soby and his team. 100/100

Service is done in a relaxed setting. This is a place to relax and enjoy views , go for a nice swim in the pool that is well maintained ( timings were from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm). Inroom dining was very good with plenty of options . Pastas were customized for my kids that helps further make the experience pleasant . The big minus was quality of tea and coffee ( probably the worst I have had) and pace of service in morning if you order coffee/ tea. That is a big step improvement hotel can work on. Also we wanted to do a photo shoot with an external photograph that was not allowed citing various reasons. Overall for us as a family who wanted to relax in a quiet setting it was a great experience.

Our stay at Gateway madurai will be itched in our memories forever. It's an experience that transformed our stay into a very special and unforgettable one. ||The beauty of Gateway Taj is unique with it's wonderful building perched atop of pasumalai offering a breathtaking 360 view of Madurai. It made me fall in love with madurai all over again. Everyday, I woke up to beautiful singing of cuckoo, tailorbird, parakeet, myna and the majestic peacock. I am truly impressed on how the management has preserved the biodiversity. The pool is yet another place where you could relax and truly be with nature while you soak in the fantastic views of the thiruparamkundram. ||If the location and biodiversity made us feel we are in a one of a kind place, what truly made it unforgettable is the warmth, love, care and hospitality of the people/staff. ||Eashwar (Head of security), from the moment I checked in was always available to help and care for us. Even though he was not working on that day, He made sure a doctor was available to come to our room to check on my daughter. I would never forget his warmth and beaming smile. His entire team followed his footsteps and were always available to help. ||Tapan's (Exec chef) spread everyday was a special treat. We all excitedly looked forward to every meal. Tapan made our family get together unforgettable through his amazing and delicious dinner buffet spread. He worked with us to prepare dishes that catered to my family specifically. He brought our family closer and made their experience truly unforgettable. ||I would like to personally thank Tapan, Eashwar and Noor for making the family get together extra special and an unforgettable one. ||Noor and his staff (Ashok, Suresh) made every dining experience a special one each and every time. ||Manaslok's (House keeping manager) timely help with getting certain items for my Mom made her stay extra special. To this day, she asks about Manas. ||Pandian (Front office) took personal care to make my check out a super smooth experience through his warmth. ||Thank you all for making our stay an unforgettable one.

One of the best resort I have ever stayed. Customer service is outstanding, right from the resort Manager to the cleaning staff. Resort & rooms are very well maintained. The view & the surroundings are beautiful. Enjoyed the birds & peacocks everyday. The restaurant staff & Managers each & everyone are outstanding in their service. I was not feeling well & was taken care of with special lunch everyday like a family. My special thanks to all the staff & Managers.

Everything here is a disaster. The F&B falls short and it is annoying to escalate things to the F&B manager to gets things right. Why not deliver it right the first time without one having to go through a bad experience? All of this after having placed the food order directly with the chef. I feel let down for trusting them to serve me right. It’s sadly the downfall of 5 star properties where nothing seems to work. Second day and the rooms remain uncleaned. Housekeeping also doesn’t seem to work. Bathroom does not have a hand towel. The swimming pool is a free for all. People enter the pool in full dress without showering and the on-site staff just don’t do a thing - disgusting. Wi-Fi is terrible and doesn’t work for the most part. If you have money, do take it elsewhere where it is valued.

This heritage property overlooking Madurai was once a peaceful, green escape — full of charm and quiet elegance. Over the years, it has lost its greenery and sadly, its grace. The place now draws in a crowd that doesn't quite respect the space — loud, ill-mannered groups that completely throw off the experience. It’s disheartening to see such a beautiful spot lose its soul.
