Excellent service by exec chef Tapan and the entire staff. We were celebrating our anniversary and they created a wonderful experience for us. Great hospitality and amazing food. ||Our 6 yr daughter was super excited when chef allowed her to assemble a cake for us in the kitchen. ||Lot of personal attention and care by the entire staff.||The property itself is at a height which gives exceptional views of madurai. The natural environment is well maintained with peacocks around the pool area. We were lucky to see the peacocks dance as well. It was a truly wonderful sight.

The property is vintage and very charming . The rooms are nice and clean . The outdoors is beautiful but needs to be better maintained. The landscape needs to be better planned and look more healthy. The deep corners do have plastic and litter lying around. The beautiful peacocks seen everywhere are a delight and do distract from an outdoors that can be more promising. . The food is good and we enjoyed the food

Location is beautiful surround by thick forest with peacocks walking around and a fabulous view of the city. Rooms are large with amenities, Most of the rooms have a private sit out verandas or balconies. Staff good, maybe the services needs to be upgraded to keep the Taj status

One of the best resort I have ever stayed. Customer service is outstanding, right from the resort Manager to the cleaning staff. Resort & rooms are very well maintained. The view & the surroundings are beautiful. Enjoyed the birds & peacocks everyday. The restaurant staff & Managers each & everyone are outstanding in their service. I was not feeling well & was taken care of with special lunch everyday like a family. My special thanks to all the staff & Managers.

Gateway Madurai is a very beautiful heritage property 30 minutes from Madurai airport. It is spread over 63 acres of which only 24 acres is facilities, rest is all kept as is. There are so many old trees in this property (some more than 100 year old) which provide respite from the otherwise hot weather of Madurai. It was our second visit to this superb hotel. We had a great stay, thanks to the excellent service provided by the front desk, the housekeeping staff and the F&B team. A special mention goes to Executive Chef Tapan Sahoo and his team.

The hotel is in a great location to visit the Meenakshi Temple. The grounds on the whole are well kept and it was nice to see the Peacocks roaming. However, our room was quite remote from the amenities, down a steep slope. We had no balcony or outdoor area and our only view was of a very abandoned tennis court. Disappointing when other members of our group were located near the pool. Service in the restaurant and bars was at times very slow.

Service is done in a relaxed setting. This is a place to relax and enjoy views , go for a nice swim in the pool that is well maintained ( timings were from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm). Inroom dining was very good with plenty of options . Pastas were customized for my kids that helps further make the experience pleasant . The big minus was quality of tea and coffee ( probably the worst I have had) and pace of service in morning if you order coffee/ tea. That is a big step improvement hotel can work on. Also we wanted to do a photo shoot with an external photograph that was not allowed citing various reasons. Overall for us as a family who wanted to relax in a quiet setting it was a great experience.
