Gateway Varkala

Room was pretty mid, we booked garden view rooms and we got upgrade to sea view because renovations were going on near our room so it was noisy, hence the free upgrade. Then service was fine only but there was no one at reception for our checkout, and they had called our cab so no one to coordinate with that too. And location is pretty good, easy to get autos and 10 mins away from all good restaurants and beaches. All in all, good hotel but not extremely luxury, so don't expect too much. Food is very mediocre, and pool is nice.

Our stay at Gateway, Varkala was absolutely fantastic! The place is truly awesome — beautifully maintained, neat, and inviting. The staff members are exceptionally welcoming, always greeting us with a warm smile that made us feel right at home. What really stood out was their extra effort to make our experience special. They went above and beyond by decorating our room with balloons and cake to surprise Avyan on his birthday — such a thoughtful and memorable gesture! Overall, it was a lovely stay, and we enjoyed every moment thoroughly. A big thank you to the entire Gateway, Varkala team for their hospitality and kindness. Keep up the great work — you’ve certainly earned our appreciation! Looking forward to visiting again!

We stayed in Taj Varkala for 2 days. And honestly the stay was wonderful with lots of great memories . The property , the staff , the food , the hospitality everything was awesome. My husband and even my 3 year old son loved our stay in the property. |I would love to visit the property again and will also recommend it to my friends and relatives. |A big thanks to the staff for taking care of not only big things but the minute ones as well. They have really added icing on the cake by their polite and helpful nature. |They all have made our holidays more relaxing and more comfortable.

Amazing spa, got Abhangya massage done. Sudeep ji was very helpful. Main attraction was pool. Amazing pool😀😀. Good food. Good services. Friendly and welcoming. |Greatly built, can be maintained better. |Middle of north and south cliff. 😀😀

Absolutely awesome property! The views are breathtaking—sunrises and sunsets were a dream. The space was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a scenic escape

Despite ongoing renovations, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety of options, and the room service was prompt and efficient. A special thank you to Diya and Faizal, who delivered impeccable service. Their attention to detail and genuine care made a significant difference in our stay. They were always ready to assist with any requests and provided a level of service that exceeded expectations. While the renovations were noticeable, the impact on our stay was minimal, thanks to the proactive efforts of the staff. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning once the renovations are complete to experience the fully realized property. The dedication to guest satisfaction is evident, and we were thoroughly impressed.

We stayed here with our 7 month old baby. The hotel staff was extremely helpful with food needs of the infant and prepared baby food without any fuss. The stay was great with beautiful view of the ocean and their pool. Overall facilities are well maintained.
