Where to even begin? Gats is one of those places that gets everything right… the atmosphere, the food, and the service. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and energetic without being too loud, and the staff made us feel right at home. We started with the cheese plate and Caesar salad, both fresh, crisp, and beautifully presented. The onion soup was a standout, honestly even better than most French onion soups I’ve had, rich and flavorful with the perfect balance of sweetness and depth. For mains, the sea bass was light, flaky, and perfectly cooked, paired with potatoes that were golden and crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. We also tried the cheese-stuffed chicken with fries, and it was just as impressive, hearty, comforting, and full of flavor. Between the incredible food, fair prices, and excellent service, Gats is an easy 10/10. Whether you’re local or just visiting Barcelona, this spot is absolutely worth the stop.

We were looking for a place to unwind and ended up in this Spanish-style bar, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and unmistakably Spanish, with a rustic charm that instantly set the tone. We started with garlic prawns as our appetizer—perfectly cooked, sizzling, and packed with flavour. For the main event, we had the pork and seafood paella, and it was absolutely outstanding: rich, hearty, and beautifully seasoned, with every bite carrying that authentic Spanish taste. Paella this good is hard to come by, and this one was unforgettable. To finish the night, we couldn’t resist the pistachio dessert from Gat’s Bar and it was the perfect finale. Light yet indulgent, nutty, and full of flavour, it left us completely satisfied. Our server, Valeria, truly elevated the experience. She recommended these plates, and we couldn’t have been happier with her choices. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, she made us feel right at home. We did end up coming back two more times, having a Salmon dish and a curry dish. I believe we had another seafood paella on the third day and their scrumptious pistachio ice cream cake. Obviously would recommend!!!

Had such a great time at Gats! Very accommodating! The staff were amazing, the food was crazy good, full of awesome authentic flavors and big portions that hit the spot. For how good everything was, the prices were surprisingly solid too. And I’ve gotta mention Marie Chris. She was incredibly super friendly, fun to talk to, and gave us the best recommendations. She really made the whole experience even better. Totally coming back to Gats. Also forgot the manager/owners name but he was amazing also! cheers

At first Gats was a little tricky to find, but I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere inside is amazing, with great music that sets the vibe. The food was delicious and there’s a huge variety, something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit – I’d recommend it!

Gats is a stylish and cool spot tucked off La Rambla that offers a solid dining experience. The ambiance is modern and warm, with thoughtful décor that pairs nicely with the relaxed vibe. The food is quite good with many tapas well curated..The outdoor seating adds charm, giving you a nice feel for the city’s energy as you dine. Service was friendly and helpful but as it’s in a rather area, you may contend with street noise or distractions with the street performers asking for money, which can detract a little from the dining experience.

We found this place off a recommendation and it's was great. Walked in on a busy night and was still able to get a table immediately. Kristel was our server and super sweet and nice. The paella offered single or larger servings which we appreciate, so we could share a few different dishes instead. Out of the 7 food items we ordered, only one we didn't like. And that was just personal preference. Wasn't a fan of the cocktail drinks flavor wise, but food/beer was amazing and desserts were very good. Would definitely recommend! Wait staff was very attentive too.

Excellent tapas and great vibes! Slightly pricey, but that's expected given the location and quality of food. €32 for 2 tapas, a dessert and drinks.

Great food and great friendly service. Food was very fresh and well cooked. Both our waiters were very kind too. A bit expensive but understandable for its location and the quality of food.

Ordered the burger well done and received it RARE. Sent the burger back and received the same burger (with the same bites bitten into it) and it was still not cooked all the way through. This is a huge sanitary issue- considering I had already taken bites from the original burger and it was placed in the grill where everyone else's food is being cooked on. We also ordered a lemonade that never came to the table. To continue, we were a party of 4 and they neglected to sit us in a bigger table because "we weren't 5". They then proceeded to sit a party of 2 at that same table. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

I the positive about this restaurant is all in the interior decor. If you look at the photos, it's pretty nice. It's even better in person actually. My wife and I run a couple of airbnbs and we were talking about how we want to emulate this style for our future airbnbs. And I think the decor is why this place is rated so highly, especially if you only drink and don't get the food. The food is probably the worst food I've ever had from a restaurant with good reviews. The pork dish was the only thing decent but even then, only the pork itself. The problem is that everything else was far too salty. I couldn't believe when I tried the shrimp. I thought I had eaten a bad bite. Do you know the texture shrimp has when it's overcooked? That's the texture it had, along with it being extremely over salted. Since this was our first meal in Barcelona my wife and I were worried that Barcelona people just love their food to be overstated. I had to hold off on writing this review till I tried other restaurants so I can now confirm, it's not a Barcelona thing, we just got unlucky with our restaurant choice.

This quaint restaurant has amazing paella, gazpacho, and service! We stopped in as we were in the mood for paella and sangria. Their sangria was very tasty and we loved the vibe too. Really cool walls and décor. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Their gazpacho was very fresh and tasty, but that paella was outstanding! It had fresh monk fish and other seafood in it and nothing was over-cooked or rubbery in texture, everything was prepared just right! Definitely stop in and give them a try!

This is a great place for some drinks and tapas! We were very impressed with the freshness of the food. Buratta salad was amazing, as well as the mushroom croquettes and octopus carpaccio is a must get! Sangria was great as well, did not find it too sweet as some reviews claimed. Maybe it was tweaked. This was the perfect amount of food for two people for a light lunch. The interior is also quite beautiful and has A/C, so we sat on the boarder of inside/the patio and it was perfect. Would definitely recommend!

This place was absolutely amazing. The staff was attentive and very helpful, all spoke English which was a huge plus for us as visitors. All of the food was top notch and the vibe was very chill. The music selection was 80s tunes reggae style. Would highly recommend if you're in the area.

4.5/5 stars Found this place on Reddit and gave it try. The restaurant delivered on all expectations. The service was chill but a little slow. There's an indoor and outdoor patio. We ordered the egg plant dried tomato and Parmesan cheese croquettes and the sweet chilly chicken wings. Definitely some of the best tapas we've have in Barcelona. I also appreciate the non meat, vegetable croquette option they have. As a meal we ordered the dry aged beef steak. It had a good flavor, but I do believe it a bit over cooked. They were also the first place we've been to that's had a red and white sangria. Both were fabulous. For beer drinkers, there was an IPA on tap that was pretty good.

Great burgers, good menu choices, good service and reasonable prices. The French fries were great. Available draft beer.

I stumbled on this restaurant and was completely blown away. It is stunningly gorgeous on the inside! Everyone who worked there was very nice and accommodating. I enjoyed the salmon and the black rice. It was outstanding! I plan to return tomorrow evening for dinner again. If the atmosphere is important to you (as it is to me) highly recommend this gorgeous restaurant. (I came in 30 minutes before closing, which is why the restaurant was pretty empty.)

Great service, great food, and great drinks. The interior is beautiful as well. Our server was very patient with us. I had both red and white sangria which was delicious. My partner had the Fiero y Tonic. We also ordered the burrata salad and roast avocado salad. Both were really good but the avocado salad had a strong flavor which might not be everyone's taste. I had the sausage and asparagus paella which was really tasty and my partner had some patatas bravas which were delicious as well. We finished off with souffle and ice cream. Overall we left very satisfied.

Aubergine (eggplant) croquettes were really tasty, but the hamburger was very good. I loved the pickles and cleanliness of the beef. Our drinks (strawberry mojitos) weren't strong but good. The prices are a bit high, thus the 4 stars. Overall, it was a good experience especially after visiting the Picasso museum.

Great food, drinks, and service in a surprisingly quiet little courtyard very close the busy Ramblas. We went back!

Food was well prepared and price modest. Wine list had several great table Tempranillos. Service was very efficient and staffed with multilingual waitstaff. Conveniently located less than block from the Rambla. Try a visit to the upstairs lounge for dessert and coffee. Comfy and quiet.

Delicious! Absolutely delicious wonderful. Service was fantastic, octopus was delish, loved the sauces, shrimp, wings, ice cream, salads, and pastas bravqs were all so good. Will absolutely come back and they got us in immediately. Solid and authentic.

On our last evening in Barcelona (Saturday August 6 after a day at Platja del Bagatell), my wife and I wanted paella again for dinner. Since we spent the day outside, we did not want to walk far from our hotel (Le Meredian). Luckily, my wife found this place online and it had good reviews. We sat inside because the temperature was cooler. We started by ordering the paella with sausage and vegetables cooked in meat sauce. The price was a little cheaper than what we paid at another restaurant, but the portion was smaller. The paella was really tasty, but afterwards we were still hungry. We ended up also ordering the potato wedges with their spicy cream sauce, which we also enjoyed. Finally, my wife and I finished with their ice cream for dessert. During dinner, there was a beggar and then an accordion player pestering customers who sat outside. There must've been a law that prohibits beggars and musicians from going inside restaurants and other places of business. Another reason one may want to dine inside.

Beautiful restaurant in a great location. They were very busy & multiple large groups came in before us, but we were still seated within a reasonable amount of time & served fairly quickly. I got the mango chili mojito (delicious and spicy) and the Iberian ribs to eat. The ribs absolutely melted off the bone & this meal was easily the best I've had here. Good service, good environment, good food. HIGHLY recommend.

This restaurant has great salads and a tasty burger. Our friends had the chicken wings and they thought they'd we're quite good as well.

We loved the atmosphere. Their menu was good enough for an early dinner. We walked all day and loved their comfortable chairs. Our servers were very attentive and happy. We are tourists and were very welcomed.

My husband and I had checked into hotel close by and walked by and saw this mouth watering burger being served. We tried the burger and it was behind our expectations plus the red sangria was delicious. The service was terrific and the staff very nice. Was so great, we returned again next day for burger and sangria!

Ending up here on a recommendation of friends. Was a great choice. Service was excellent Enjoyed tapas of Shrimp, fried calamari, eggplant, artichoke, & anchovies. My son enjoyed the American Burger. Later we tried the Octopus Carpaccio, the grilled octopus & the Mountain Paella

Great spot. We come here all the time and the food is reliably delicious! We particularly love the salads and paellas, but it's all good. Very cute restaurant inside and out in the front plaza.

The fideau is the most flavorful dish I've had in Barcelona! We went at lunch, it was nice to be in an airy space and comfortable.

Love love love Gats! This was another place my boyfriend and I frequented during our stay in Barcelona. Their food is outstanding, a mix of Spanish tapas and American dishes, and their outdoor seating in the courtyard is very relaxing. We typically ordered the crab tartare, the Caesar salad, the burger, and the mixed vegetable curry. Everything was outstanding and the portions were very filling. My only complaint is that the service was slow and the servers themselves weren't super friendly. Nevertheless, we went back for the food! Definitely recommend.

Absolutely delightful! Intimate cafe-bar-restaurant in the heart of Barcelona; interesting decor, wooden tables and a lovely wide window with a view to a small square. Great place for relaxing and people watching. We tried it for an early tapas dinner after a workday, and were lucky to get a table near the window. Only four stars (out of five) because i wasn't excited by the pan con tomate (tomato bread) and baba ganoush with pita bread (both really generic to indifferent). Their Carpaccio de pulpo al olivo (octopus in olive oil) was really good, and the eggs with masched potatos and sausage dish was a great heathy meal for my friend. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Service can be slow at peak time (past 9 pm)

Great location - A block off Las Ramblas and in a cute courtyard. The service was very friendly. The fish ceviche was EXCELLENT, the Iberian ham consistent (aka good), bread with tomato yummy and my sangria cava good though my partner found it a bit too sweet. The tuna on guacamole was a little over-marinated but all else was so great that I'm still giving them 5-stars.

The best meal I've had in a long time! (Also the most expensive, so maybe that's why) The truffles eggs are brilliant & the fried chicken strips are delightfully crispy, the red velvet is the best cake I've had outside the US. My friends & I shared 6 items plus dessert & the only thing I wouldn't order again was the nachos & guacamole (tasted only like jalapeños). Overall vibe reminded me a lot of restaurants in London, which I loved.

This is such a nice and chill place to get away from the crazy. Had a cold beer and their chicken strips. Delish.

Nice place with good tapas. It is just not as good as some of its competitors. Food came out a bit cold and the calamari was chewy. But great location and atmosphere. The wait staff was very attentive.

The food here was terrible and overpriced. Even the patatas bravas, which is the most basic tapa, was awful: greasy and covered in a tasteless mayonnaise. The eggplant was also soggy, super oily and inedible but we were still charged for it even though we didn't eat it. After pouring 1/2 my sparkling water into my glass, I realized that there was a fly in it- they took it away and basically I was left with half a drink. Service was also slow and left much to be desired, even for Spanish standards.

Decent food and drinks. The staff was friendly but the price was a little expensive for what we got which is probably do to the location. They had English menus and WiFi.

Just average. Limited tapas menu, but they did have paella for one. Sangria was good but was a bit carbonated.

Tourist trap don't eat here. Went to here and bar lobo which are same owners, within a 4 hour period. They both " accidentally" sent out an extra item and wanted to make ya pay for it. Food was ridiculously salty and not even close to any other tapas place we had here.

We had lunch there on January 6. The food was very poor and price was ridiculous. I suggest you going to MacDonald near by. Don't even think about going to this place.

I had lunch here today; great chicken (had the pollo asado with salsa de mente) but it came with fries. It probably would have paired better with rice. The tapas here are excellent and very filling though - there is no need to have more than a few.
