I was really looking forward to dining here, but being somewhat of a steak restaurant snob, I'd have to say it's not my top picks. Steak very good, but entrees could improve themselves considering the cost. My choice of the chorizo was technically just a standard sausage cut inside out. The olives weren't as warm as I'd hoped or have had before. Service seemed more focused on the larger or known groups and were left waiting for the attention needed to line up with cost outlay. I'd have to say that The Meat and Wine Co still remains our top pick for Adelaide.

Mixed grill $100 was excellent value but only available Mon-Thu. Rib eye steak was good quality & cooked to order but for $90 including the steak & 4 tomatoes is steep. Tomato salad was fresh. Like others have said, male manager & other staff very unfriendly. Feel like dropping $400 wasn’t good enough for their standards. Not a place we would be going back for its price & the uncomfortable celebratory meal experience.

I visited Gaucho’s in Adelaide during a recent work trip, and it turned out to be one of the culinary highlights of my stay. I ordered the kingfish ceviche, seared scallops, and the beef tartare—every dish was exceptional, but the kingfish ceviche absolutely stole the show. It was, without a doubt, one of the best ceviches I’ve ever had in my life. The beef tartare was another standout. As someone who considers themselves a bit of a tartare connoisseur—having tried it all over the world—I can confidently say this one was up there with the best. Perfectly balanced, beautifully seasoned, and expertly prepared. The service was equally impressive. I was dining solo, and the staff made me feel genuinely welcome—attentive, warm, and professional throughout the evening. The experience stayed with me so much that the very next night, when I was trying to decide what to eat (despite already having had a large team dinner), all I could think about was that kingfish ceviche. I simply couldn’t leave Adelaide without going back for it—and it was worth every bite, again. Gaucho’s is an absolute must-visit.

Sometimes when I eat outside my country, I feel like I go to Argentinian restaurants looking for my flavors!! Many times I am disappointed!! But this time, despite the owners being Italian, the flavors were very delicious, considering the Australian population who like it very spicy!! The atmosphere was very good!! The service was excellent!! I am a chef, it is nice that the Italian owners like the food from my country!! To my delight, I found everything very good and very clean fantastic Argentinian wines!! The steaks and meats were amazing and delicious. The seasoning the chips was great, loved the slight sweetness. But it was very expensive. For a nice restaurant it was a bummer that the service was crap. The fried lamb was different and tasted quite nice until the pieces that were straight up fat and tasted a bit unhealthy. Overall it was nice, but for the price and service im not sure id come back.

This is my all-time favourite dinner spot in the city. Everything I’ve tried here has been absolutely delicious, from the savoury dishes to the desserts, wine, and cocktails. Their specials are always impressive too. It’s also a great place for kids, with a thoughtful and tasty menu, which really matters to me. Here are some of my must-try picks: • Entree: Try the scallops if you like something light and sweet with a touch of savoury. But if you’re after something bold and warming, the Del Diablo Oysters are a better choice. They come with a generous sauce and the oysters are a good size. • Main: The porterhouse steak has a beautiful flavour and is perfectly cooked. The spice-roasted pork belly with chilli caramel and special sauce is a standout. The crispy skin barramundi with roast capsicum gazpacho, burnt tomato, and pickled chilli is also a mouthwatering option, especially on a chilly night. • Dessert: You can’t miss the berry crème brûlée and the dark chocolate ganache baked dessert. They're hands down some of the best sweets in the city. • Drinks: I really enjoyed the Penfolds Bin 389 red wine and their margarita. The service is always lovely, and the restaurant has a beautiful setup. If you prefer a quieter dining experience, I recommend asking for a table in the back room.

These oysters are truly out of this world! I had the Diablo Oysters as an appetiser, and I couldn't get enough of them. The sauce was rich and warm, making it the perfect comfort on a chilly evening. The steak was fantastic as well, there's no need for extra sauce when the chimichurri on the table is already so flavorful. The dessert was bsolutely mind-blowing! What a perfect dinner experience in the city.
