I visited Gaucho’s in Adelaide during a recent work trip, and it turned out to be one of the culinary highlights of my stay. I ordered the kingfish ceviche, seared scallops, and the beef tartare—every dish was exceptional, but the kingfish ceviche absolutely stole the show. It was, without a doubt, one of the best ceviches I’ve ever had in my life.
The beef tartare was another standout. As someone who considers themselves a bit of a tartare connoisseur—having tried it all over the world—I can confidently say this one was up there with the best. Perfectly balanced, beautifully seasoned, and expertly prepared.
The service was equally impressive. I was dining solo, and the staff made me feel genuinely welcome—attentive, warm, and professional throughout the evening.
The experience stayed with me so much that the very next night, when I was trying to decide what to eat (despite already having had a large team dinner), all I could think about was that kingfish ceviche. I simply couldn’t leave Adelaide without going back for it—and it was worth every bite, again.
Gaucho’s is an absolute must-visit.
