Glad we found it. We've had some many different foods on our trip, so that we decided to see if we can go "back home" for an evening, and it was a great choice! The waitress was great, very friendly. Got a "golombki" combo and all of it was great. Tried the bigos too, and it was great as well, full of meat. Would visit again.

Google
Hidden hole in wall, off the beaten path. Attentive and warm service. Loved the quaint and old decor, it added a special touch. Great polish and Turkish food at reasonable prices.

Google
The food was spectacular!!! It tasted SO good. Very authentic Greek/Polish food. They had lots of vegetarian options, also some without onions/garlic. The platter was phenomenal and the beet soup & 4-5 different vegetarian perogies. Service was great and it has an authentic European vibe to the restaurant where it feels like you’re back in Greece enjoying a homely meal.

We had lunch at this place and it was a surprise how good it was. My husband and I split a polish soup that I don’t remember what was called then I ordered a Greek dish that consisted of stuffed red pepper and a stuffed tomato with lots of veggies in sauce. It was delicious. My husband took the gyro and he said it was the best one he’s had. Definitely recommend it. I would definitely go back.

Google
Generous portions of authentic greek and polish dishes. We have been enjoying this gem of a small restaurant run with love for over 15 years. Waffles are a specialty here, and try the selection of European beers.. Always great service and good prices, we are always happy to come back to this gem.. -

We went for lunch after our visit to Lightner Museum. There was a wait time for 30-45 minutes but we did get the seat in around 15 minutes. The food was good but the wait was long even for the server and food took longer to come. But the food was savory and we enjoyed it. The lady even came temporary diaper changing for my baby. That was sweet of her. Enjoyed the Gyros the most.

Google
I love this place! The staff is friendly and remembers us when we come to town. The sampler platter of hummus, tzatziki and mezze is amazing. We love their spinach pie and their golombki. I had the pyzy for the first time and it was delicious, too.

Google
My husband and I have been craving authentic Greek food and they really delivered from the food to the welcoming hospitality of the staff - this is truly a gem within St Augustine. We ordered the grape leaves platter which was a great size, including not only dolma but a generous Greek salad. We also sampled the perogies (potato and cheese + onion; sauteed) which were also delicious. They have a wide selection of beers from Greek, to Chezch and beyond. They have some outdoor seating but it's mostly indoors. Located off of a quiet alley it's a nice escape from the louder areas of downtown while still being very convenient to Aviles St and beyond.

Yelp
I went here specifically because I missed the Polish food from Chicago. I ordered the stuffed cabbage, sauerkraut and mushroom pierogies, the Hungarian goulash and the beef and barley soup. Everything was delicious! I will be going back soon as the food satisfied my cravings. I am so happy that I found this place!!!!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on Saturday when restaurant opened. This place has a unique menu of Greek and Polish food. This is a small cafe with about 8 tables. No outside tables. The food and service were excellent. We were a party of four. We ordered spinach pie, gyro, pierogis, Greek sampler platter, and baklava. The portions are large. Food seemed all home made. Hours are 11-6 pm, closed on Tuesday. No parking as it is in the historic district. Best to walk or Uber.

Yelp
This was such an awesome little find tucked away in an alleyway, the only reason we knew about it was because our trolley driver mentioned it was his favorite restaurant in st augustine. It was a chillier day so pierogis sounded amazing! We started with the Greek sampler platter that had tzatziki, eggplant salad, and hummus as well as olives and tomatoes. It was served with warm pita and other types of bread SO GOOD. We also had the grape leaves which were extremely tasty with feta, tomato and onion. I had their borsch (theirs was warm) with beet cubes and mushroom dumplings OUTSTANDING. For mains, i had the blueberry pierogis which were so unique i had to try. The only problem is they are pretty sweet they come with sour cream but also whipped cream and brown sugar. Still delicious but i wished i chose a cheese and potato. My friend had a stew that came with 4 savory pierogis and she really enjoyed it. you can tell this place is authentic! Waiter was quick and helpful. One thing is the indoor seating is freezing so bring a coat or sit outside like we did.

Yelp
What a great little find & he knew Greek food & Polish food could work well together. The ambiance makes you feel like you're in a rustic cafe back in old country. It definitely fits the food style. They have a great selection of both beers and wine from Eastern Europe. Our server was wonderful, such a helpful young lady. We started with the grape leaves app which was delicious. She has lentil soup which she loved, she also had the spinach pie which she enjoyed. I had the stuffed tomato which was very tasty and don't get the full portion, the half portion was almost too much. We will definitely be back.

Vic M.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots in St. Augustine. Very quaint- only a handful of tables . The vibe is very casual, homecooked hearty meal. The food is amazing and the servings are hefty. The server was super friendly and knowledgeable. We had the kielbasa lunch special with meat peirogis and Bigo, and then potato and cheese pierogis. Yum!

Lisa M.

Yelp
Authentic, homemade polish and Greek dishes! I am so happy I stumbled across this gem.. It felt like I was sitting in my grandparents kitchen. The spicy coconut soup was savory and kept us guessing on the ingredients. The pierogis were freshly homemade and flavorful and the "small" Greek salad was huge with large portion of gyro meat. Highly recommend, I am visiting St. Augustine for a short time and I am even tempted to return!

Lynn C.

Yelp
What a treat! Came upon this hidden gem. The baklava was delicious. Along with a cappuccino. Next time we will try a meal.

Libby L.

Yelp
I've spent a lot of time in St. Augustine, yet yesterday was my first experience at this hidden gem. The food was fresh and delicious. A little more pricey than I expected, but I feel it was well worth the amount and the flavor of the food. Everyone there was friendly and willing to give suggestions on the menu. The restaurant is small, but it conveys a homey, relaxed environment. I highly suggest you check them out on your next trip!

Kathy B.

Yelp
I grew up on homemade Polish food so the reviews brought us in. We are WOWED by the food! Pierogis that were definitely made on site! Kielbasa that was juicy and delicious! The sauerkraut had been cooking for hours and was the perfect blend of tart and tangy. The service was great and the place was very cozy and inviting. We can't wait to come in again for stuffed cabbage and then work through the rest of the menu! See you again soon!

Michele P.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! We only found it thanks to typing in "lunch near me" on yelp while in the Ancient City today!!! Gaufres is like waffle in French, Radi our beautiful server is from Bulgaria, and on the menu you have favorites of people who may be Polish or maybe even Greek? We should have asked more questions, bc there are pages of Polish, Hungarian & Greek foods, plus a wonderful regional wine and liqueur list as well as some lovely hand - painted bottles of cordials and liqueurs on display & for sale. They do even serve different varieties of waffles! not to mention Greek favorites such as gyros and spanakopita. And if we could have nibbled on one more item after the shared lunch that was more than we could eat, the desserts in the case all looked heavenly, from baklava w/wo chocolate, baklava cheesecake, & cookies to Polish cheesecake and more! We ordered glasses of crisp light white wine from Serbia/Herzegovina regions. Then we decided to share a bowl (cup would have sufficed!) of the Hunters Stew, and a dish called Golumpki Combo: 4 different homemade pierogies stuffed with meat, potato, sauerkraut, & spinach. All were delicious and I know my husband will love his favorite sauerkraut stuffed. Radi told us that 99% of everything is prepared and made in house; the bread is from a local bakery. What a treat for something unique and different. They've been open since 2005 and diners seemed to be repeat guests. So glad we found you!!! We will be back. We can't wait! Food, service, ambience. Even the old wallpaper and chipped paint just add to the rustic look with the vintage Polish plates etc. in cabinets and in the walls. like stepping into Old World Europe.

Robert C.

Yelp
Outstanding Polish and Greek fare in old town - bring a basket so you can take home some of the goods and your leftovers! We were in twice, snd got to sample several dishes, each of which was mouthwateringly delicious. Chug down some Czech ale with your meal or choose from one of the many unique beer offerings. Staff was great, we had a blast with Radic. The space is small but comfy with tons of memorabilia as well as a few outdoor tables. No reservations so get there early, go for lunch, or bring your patience!

Erin H.

Yelp
We ordered a variety of food. J had a special that included a Greek salad, coconut chicken soup and spinach pie. The pie wasn't quite flaky enough but the flavor was good. Nice Greek salad and soup was flavorful. The real star was what my fellow dinners got. A Omni that included stuffed cabbage (gonna dream about that) and pierogis. You could pick your choice of pierogis and hands down some of the best I've had outside of my friends Swedish grandma. The portions were huge. We arrived 5 minutes after opening and within 5 more minutes all the tables were taken. Looked like lots of locals enjoy this place. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in St. Augustine. Check this place out!!!

Andrew S.

Yelp
I am mid meal, it's super, incredible, spectacular. The beer selection, the food, everything is perfect for St. Aug. I hope you come here because I was not disappointed.

Tom M.

Yelp
Great spot we stumbled into. Very nice waitress and excellent authentic food! Small spot, off an alley, felt European. Had a map on the wall with push pins of people from all over the world who had visited.

Carmen M.

Yelp
What a small place this is. But great food. Was here about a month ago on a mother and daughter trip. Found it by accident and we were hungry! It's on a tiny street, and so cute. We ordered a appetizer with different food items like stuffed cabbage, a olive spread that I really enjoyed. I can't remember the other items but we both enjoyed everything on the plate. We also had champagne to celebrate mother and daughter! Hit this place up! It's a Portuguese and Poland food! Very friendly too! Definitely have to bring my husband here. They have Kabasa and he loves Kabasa. Look for Radi she was so out going, very friendly, plansant and I could have chatted with all day. Make sure you give her a visit!

Kaye K.

Yelp
We selected this place based on fellow Yelper reviews. I try to seek out independent restaurants whenever I can to support the local economy. Bottom line, it seems that their reputation exceeds their product. Our lunch entrees were sub average as was the Basque cheesecake. I wish I could be mire positive about the food, but the spanikopita was about the worst I've had...dry and lacking in taste.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Food and service were both wonderful. We shared stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and pierogis. Waitress recommended a German beer that went perfectly with our lunch. We can't believe that we have lived in area for over 3 years and this was our first visit - we will definitely be back!

Yelp
Wowzers....we had an amazing lunch at this Greek and Polish location. We started with some Rose' and The Greek Sampler...Amazeballs! We tried pierogis, greek salad and gyro. We were stuffed after the appetizer sampler, so we sampled our lunch items. The meat pierogis were a new item for me and they did not disappoint. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The impeccable service was the best part, Thank You Gaufre's!

Yelp
10 OUT OF 10!!! (Screamed at the top of my lungs while dancing a little jig!) my wife said hands down her favorite meal while in St Augustine! And that includes some very pricey meals... Our party of four tried to eat here on Tuesday, but they were closed due to an issue in the kitchen. We called again today to make sure they were open and oh my, it was goooot! We have been here for several days and feel robbed we are just now getting to experience their food when we leave the day after tomorrow :( As soon as you sit down order the tzatziki and pita, do it immediately. Have you done it yet, go order then come back to this review! Ok! Now, order the pierogis! Personally, I think the potato and cheese filling with sautéd with onions and bacon were the best. But my party tried several variations and they were all freakin good! My wife had a waffle and it was tasty, but the headline here are the pierogis! Words like - Divine, Amazing, Delicious, OMG, and many other colorful metaphors were used to describe how flipping good they were! My wife says that they alone were worth the 7 hour drive! And that we WILL return for more! To those about to dine, I envy and salute you! ****** UPDATE! We went back for the second day in a row and had even more and news flash, still amazing! We are willing to drive 14 hours round trip for this place! We love you!!

Kathy L.

Yelp
Tucked away in one of St. Augustine's many narrow streets & alleyways, this ethnic gem is definitely worth a try! We chose polish foods today: Polish barley soup, potato & cheese pierogi and also an order of the blueberry pierogi. What is so awesome about their pierogi is that you can choose your flavor (potato & cheese, mushroom, sauerkraut, meat, etc), toppings such as onions and/or bacon) and also choose the way it prepared (boiled, sautéed). Everything was delicious! Also of note are their many types of imported beers, most from Germany & Greece. They also had a case of ethnic desserts to choose from. So if you're in the mood for a gyro and your date is in the mood for stuffed cabbage & kielbasa, this is definitely the place for you!

Janis A.

Yelp
Go, Go, Go here!! Such a quaint place with a fusion of Polish and Greek foods to tantalize the most discerning palates. We had difficulty deciding what to order so we had to order a little of everything...some Polish, some Greek. The inside is humble and happy with fun decor on the walls. A display of beer and wine adds to the places charm. For lunch we ordered a bowl of Hungarian goulash, kielbasa on a baguette, spanakopita, spicy coconut chicken soup and pierogis of several flavors. Holy smokes, we wiped our plates clean. It was absolutely delicious. To top off our scrumptious lunch we ordered a shredded baklava. We had such a delightful lunch! We highly recommend this unique place!

Don C.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Had the cheese saganaki and retsina wine. It was delicious. Then I had an order of mixed pierogi. All of them great. Finished up with Greek coffee. Again amazing. Oh had a Bie of baklava cheesecake it was amazing. I highly recommend this place!

Bill M.

Yelp
Stopped in here on our food tour. Super friendly folks and really good food. At the recommendation of Corely, our tour guide we have the gaufre which is polish for waffle. Really good. The whipped cream was amazing. Definitely worth a stop in here.

Vivian C.

Yelp
RESTAURANT REVIEW: We had a good meal at Gaufres & Goods Polish and Greek Restaurant in St. Augustine, Florida. We were a little concerned about the menu given the eclectic mix of cuisine, but we stuck with the Polish side and the food was tasty. Our son ordered the Polish sausage with sauerkraut and meat perogies. He loved his meal. I thought the sauerkraut was a little ... well ... sour but that's how he likes it and he was happy. My husband ordered the beef and cabbage roll with perogies on the side. He didn't like his food as much as we did. He found the meat way too finely ground and the sauce tasteless. I ordered the cheese and potato perogies and they were delicious. Very, very filling but delectable with onions, and sour cream on the side. This is not a fancy restaurant by any means, but if you're craving a hearty, comfort food type meal then this is the place to go. Our one complaint was that the restaurant is seriously understaffed. Two young women handled the entire front room from reception to waitressing to bartending to cleanup. They were both rather frazzled as a result. There was a short wait when we got there but luckily we went early. I will say the kitchen did a good job of pushing out the food. But they need to get these women some help, especially at Christmas time. Overall, however, it was an enjoyable experience and we would return.

Reid S.

Yelp
Second stop for lunch in a row and still fantastic. Perogies with potato and cheddar topped with bacon and onions are delicious. Our party got the hummus and tzatziki with pita which was also some of the best we have every had. Great authentic atmosphere with charming Polish/Greek music to boot. My wife inquired about the pita spice, and our waiter kindly had Ms Grace mix her up a small jar. Awesome touch. This is another spot to make sure and hit. Enjoy, Good Selling!

Yelp
Hey Yelpers have I got a gem to share with you! We decided to go to St. Augustine and try out a new spot. Wooowie were we in for a treat! This place is very cozy, feels like your at someones home. They serve a bit of Polish and Greek items. The service was wondeful, our server was very helpful with options. The food was fresh, full of flavor. We had the side of Polish Sausage, Pierogies potato and cheese filled and Golombki cabbage leaves stuffed with rice and meat topped with tomato sauce. We also had an order of grape leaves for appetizer. Dessert we had the Ube cake definately a different type of flavor it was ok for me. Reminded me a bit of ganache which Im not really big on..sorry I know! My WOW moment was taken a notch higher when we tried two of their wines. They were so good we bought two bottles of each! The first was a raspberry red wine, Polish Nalewka Babuni its very smooth but boy after a few sips you start to feel pretty good...thats my kind of wine! The second was the St. John Commondaria, red fortified with Brandy this has an aroma of raisins with the sweetness of honey loved this Greek wine! Great spot for date or just to try something new, I highly recommend it. Thank you to the Chef and crew they are wonderful! Cant wait to go back to try the Barley soup now that its in season!

Mishele L.

Yelp
I did not eat in this location, but I grabbed food to take out. Their stuffed cabbage and perogies were so good!

Sharon S.

Yelp
If you like pierogis this is should be your go to! It's like grandmas house in middle of busy city with yummy food and great service! We had 7 with us but we're easily seated and served quickly.

Chris K.

Yelp
Fantastic little hidden gem in the heart of old town Saint Augustine. So glad they made it through COVID as this place is really worth a visit or ten. I don't want to drone on and on but let me just say that the quality of the food and the portions are always outstanding. There's nothing here but good, honest ethnic fare done right.

Bobby D.

Yelp
I was born and raised in Poland and grew up eating plenty of babcia's pierogies, golabkies, etc. The food here remind me of those flavors I grew up with. Pierogies, soup and everything is authentic and really really good. The old style decor reminds of my home town Wrocław restaurants and even decorations that I grew up with. It's a bit of hole in a wall and but it also showcases what restaurants in Poland used to be like years ago.

Joyce P.

Yelp
Great pierogi and amazing baklava! Service was stellar. Would recommend enthusiastically.

Ellen G.

Yelp
Lovely, little bistro with wonderful staff and great food. We enjoyed the gyro and the spinach pie. The waffle dessert with bananas and chocolate was fabulous. A must try if you are in the neighborhood

Brian M.

Yelp
Food is amazing and delicious all the way! Beet soup absolutely amazing! Sausage thing A+! All food worth the cost because they are so authentic! Service was excellent! Ambiance numero uno! I will come back, a must!

Elise G.

Yelp
This St. Augustine establishment has changed location many years ago, but is still between some of the oldest streets & alleys in Old Town. Authentically wonderful menu of Polish foods. I just had the Spicey Coconut chicken soup and pyzys (dumplings w/ meat). It was delicious, the pyzy was a large portion. I have a Polish friend who always likes to dine here when they visit. Reasonably priced and charming altho no outdoor seating. Service was excellent, efficient, smiling.

Ashley K.

Yelp
Great Polish food, we didn't try the Greek items. We're Polish we wanted Polish food. We left very full . I had to lay down after I was that stuffed lol

Crista S.

Yelp
When I took a bite of the cheese and potato perogi my face couldn't resist smiling! I thought Velselka in New York City had the best but these are now my new favorite! It was cute and cozy and had a European feel to it when you walk in! I even noticed they have angel wings for dessert. I can't wait to try more!

Al D.

Yelp
This restaurant has Greek and Polish food. It was my first time trying Polish food. It was great, especially the pierogies. I had all four kinds of pierogies - all were great. My wife had a Greek dish and it was very good too. The staff is nice. The restaurant is quaint and just off the beaten path of the historic district. The relaxing and quiet atmosphere was great too.

Julien H.

Yelp
I come in for the waffles , and they were really one of the best I had in a while. Ambiance is family oriented and you feel "at home". The people take care for you and it feels personal. Great unexpected spot. Loved it

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Came across this place several months ago and decided to try it for Mother's Day lunch. Got here around 1ish and there were several tables open. The restaurant makes you feel like you are in someone's home. The wait staff quickly pulled together two tables for our party of five. We ordered the Greek Sampler Platter appetizer which had hummus, eggplant salad (can't spell the real name) and tzatziki served tomato wedges, green onions, stuffed grape leaves and fresh pita bread (so soft and warm). We devoured the appetizer and thoroughly enjoyed all of it especially the tzatziki and eggplant salad. The tomatoes were so good (tasted like home grown)! Three of us ordered their gyros (they make in house no frozen meat on a rotisserie here). My husband ordered the kielbasa platter which comes with kielbasa, kraut, three periogies (you can choose what they are stuffed with --cheese & potato, spinach, & meat). The gyros were pricey at $17 but were worth it. To finish the meal we shared a slice of "Burnt" cheesecake. Yes, burnt. It was so good and light. I will definitely be back. I want to try the baked feta appetizer and the Stuffed Pepper dish which they were out of. So glad we came to Gaufre's & Goods. Service was great and so was the food! Sorry, no pics...we were enjoying our time and food together.

Mauricio D.

Yelp
Too busy to call us back. A "20 minute" wait turned into 60+ minutes Meanwhile we went elsewhere. Otherwise the place had a nice aroma and it looked cozy.

Sarah J.

Yelp
What an adorable polish delight! While strolling through St. Augustine mid afternoon we had a grumble on our tummies and decided to seek out something delicious. Luckily we stumbled upon Gaufre's and Goods and decided to give the polish coffee and perogies a try! Christine greeted us, seated us, and waited on us as well. She is a jack of all trades and does her job well. I ordered a Carmel macchiato and she made it beautifully and we also partook in the potato perogies that were scrumptious and hit the spot. The price was right on and the portions were generous. The menu has desserts, drinks, and other polish delicacies to choose from. The atmosphere is charming, simple, and welcoming. This is a hole in the wall gem that you should visit. If you like it enough you can even buy a t shirt. Take a stroll down the side street and check this place out. Give Christine a good tip too, she deserves it!

Wendy B.

Yelp
Gyros was delicious. We also got the rasberrycream roll, sharing both. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Here 14 days. May have to come back for the polish!

Brittany W.

Yelp
This was nothing special to be honest. The two people working there were nice but my friend and I waited awhile to be seated while there were a few open tables that still needed to be cleaned off, then we waited probably 15 mins to get menus. The food was fine but it was nothing awesome for the price. Overall it was okay but you'd think in such a heavy tourist area the service would be top notch.

Debi W.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic! The skillet fried feta, spicy coconut soup with chicken, feta pie, Greek salad, pierogis and burnt cheesecake with fresh whipping cream and honey. This will be a must go to everyone we go to STA!

Krista D.

Yelp
Old world feel, fantastic food-absolutely loved the mixed greek spreads appetizer! so good! several vegetarian and vegan options as well as meat dishes. kraut & mushroom pierogies were delicious as well as stuffed pepper. service was also great. really nice out of the "crazy" place. highly recommend!

Mindy And Jerry H.

Yelp
Wow, just WOW. Glad we found this little hidden hometown gem. Had a wonderful lunch, definitely will return to try many of the other menu items.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere here. It feels like you are at a little European cafe. There are perfect, quaint outdoor tables as well if you would like your furry friend to join you. I love both the greek and polish dishes. There are many vegetarian options. They have my favorite Tzatziki and grape leaves. I also love the pierogi and the whole grape leaf platter with the tomatoes, onions and feta. Although I am not a beet fan, they have the most beautiful bright pink cold beet soup. Totally instagram worthy. Only side note is that I wish that had a more robust wine selection. I don't love the wines.

Patrick C.

Yelp
Not on a Main Street, so you have to know this amazing and authentic restaurant is there. The food is the "real thing", and reasonably priced. Radi was our server and guided us through one of our best dining experiences on this visit to St Augustine. You will not be disappointed!
