Highlights : the dog greeting the visitors, breakfast area with a nice view and lots of natural light. We had a small triple room with a view on the parking lot. The decor is a bit outdated and particular but everything was clean. It's an alright stop along the way, especially for one night.

Absolutely wonderful stay! This hotel is amazing and offers great value for money. You can feel the owner’s thoughtful design and decoration everywhere—it’s full of charm and care. My favorite part was the breakfast: a wide variety of choices, including hot dishes, served in a beautiful glass room overlooking the lake. Such a peaceful and pleasant way to start the day. I also accidentally left my Apple Watch behind, and the staff were incredibly kind and responsible. They kept it safe for me until my friend came to pick it up. Truly warm-hearted and helpful people. 5-star recommendation!

We stopped here for a night after touring around Trollaskagi and before heading to the Westfjords. This place was just where we wanted to stop. Friendly manager and dog, good breakfast, pleasant country locating, clean though not new facilities. The walls were a bit on the thin side but luckily the other guests settled down early.

The Gauksmýri Guesthouse's staff was welcoming and hotel was generally clean. Our room 223 had a lovely view of a duck pond and fields.||Bedroom: 2 standard pillows, 2 split duvets, 1 electrical outlets near bed, 2 bedside tables, 1 bedside lamp, 1 small table, 1 chair, no desk lamp, open closet (hooks and some hangers), no suitcase stand, room-darkening curtains, no safe, windows able to open and stay open.||Bathroom: No counter space, step-in shower with plastic surround, 1 hair dryer, no shower cap, no tissues, no body wash, no shampoo or conditioner, no bar soap, 2 glasses (helpful for filling reusable water bottles at the tap), 2 bath towels, no hand towels, 2 wash cloths, 1 bath mat, no hand towel hook near sink, 2 hooks for bath towels, no vent fan in bathroom, and the hot water smelled strongly of sulfur.||Technology: No TV, adequate wifi.||Miscellaneous: Free parking (parking lot), no fitness facility, dining room (breakfast included).

Good place to rest if you’re doing Ring Road. The location is nice and close to nature. However, the lodging itself is alright. The rooms are small, and the soundproof and blinds are not good. Breakfast is basic. The breakfast staff are friendly, though.

The rooms are a bit on the smaller side and there is no restaurant there for dinner options, but they make up for it with good prices, great location if you want to visit Hvitserkur, and friendly staff.

Our room was so small we had to leave our bags in the car, but it was clean. To be clear there is NOT a hot breakfast, the breakfast that is included is a continental (some breads, a bit of fruit, a couple sliced veggies and some cereal). Because of the location it’s the only real option unless you want to check out and go to town. The older reviews give a false impression about what is available now.

We stayed for one night and had a great experience. The place was spotless, with everything clean and well-kept. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming! :) Breakfast was really good, and the view was simply stunning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay! 🙌🏼😊
