Travelling solo and wanted to relax snowboard and eat, so first thing is it's not cheap not sure if it's here or Norway in general but be prepared, but this hotel is stunning, super high class beautifully layed out, the view of gaustatoppen from the balcony is special, the staff are very very helpful polite everything your expect from a high class hotel, |Ok the food, I was half board so I had a 3 course meal in the evening unfortunately you won't have a choice starter main dessert no options but considering I would never order fish, omg the flavour was amazing 'kingscrab' I could not believe how fantastic that would taste, and as a butcher I was surprised when fillet steak was on my menu, absolutely fantastic if your vegetarian or have allergies let them know asap am sure they would help out anyone and make it a special holiday. |After being on the slopes ask reception for a key card (free) fit the pool sauna and hot tub,

Extremely beautiful and well run resort. The staff moreover were incredibly kind. Not only did they treat us amazingly during our stay, offering advice on activities and help when needed, but were extremely helpful when I forgot some items there. Lena and Jessica in particular took the time to look for my items and post them to me. Really impressed by their help!

Well this is quite a mixed review. We stayed here twice before many years ago and before the new investment/extension. Now it feels very different and busy.|We stayed a week from December 29.||In summary, the staff are lovely and helpful, cleanliness is good, rooms comfortable, food quality excellent. Superb wine list although the menu doesn't warrant this. Then comes the detail which brings us to the view this venue did not quite meet our expectations given the rating. I think the rating I've given is fair (we recognise some part may be due to the contract between the hotel and Crystal.) If there was a good category it would fit there rather than very good but it is better than average||Friendly staff at reception. In fact all staff are extremely friendly and helpful. English seems to be spoken as the default language unless you are Norwegian.||Stayed a week for a skiing/ cross country holiday. Standard Room booked which had a lovely, pleasing contemporary interior design, muted, complementary colours and comfortable.||The shower room is compact, good towels and products. However the towel rail is linked to the "smart " heating system so if the room is up to temperature the rail does not heat. Thus, towels and swimwear do not dry fully. You can ask for dry towels at reception but that is not the point. I like warm towels after a shower and arguably the point of the towel rail. We only ever had the thermostat on at 20 max so unsure what the optimum temperature to make the rail work should be. That said we tried it at 23 degrees out of curiosity once to see if that made a difference. It didn't. Anyway. No problem with the room temperature.||There is limited drawer space for two people, always a little disappointing as with a ski holiday there is an abundance of layers, outdoor clothing and then normal wear. We just used a suitcase as an extra drawer. Plenty of hooks plus a narrow wardrobe. Robes provided.||Hairdryer is great. Long cable. Lots of power sockets so it could be used close to a mirror.||Pool and sauna area were included although the floating saunas ( wear bathing costumes) are an extra cost. I thought the massage treatment prices reasonable. This area was frankly disappointing for us. Too small and limited, especially as it's 4 star. A sauna is in each of the changing rooms and again compact. The pool is not large and smells quite chlorinated.||Restaurant is large and traditional wood. Reservations are required and we found all our evenings had been reserved for 5pm which is the default although changing the time was not a problem usually . It was frustrating having to negotiate a later time on a couple of occasions. The process took much longer than it should have.||You can also eat at the other restaurants and can transfer your set meal value to the a la carte. We attempted this but on the evening we were given a table in the usual area outside the "raw and grill brasserie" and given the a la carte menu. We didn't see the point of this so we reverted back to the set menu. The brasserie is a better area and we had the opportunity to be placed there one evening on the set menu option. No idea why but great.||Food is very good quality and we were able to make dietary requirements which was appreciated ( the hotel had been notified in advance via Crystal but this message appears never to have been received. My suspicion is Crystal never passed it on ). Fish especially is excellent. Loved the herrings & salmon at breakfast. Excellent range of choices at breakfast.|Dress code is very relaxed from very casual to smart casual.||Skiing and cross country all from the hotel so minimal trudging with boot||Great public areas with fire, seating, bar etc. Lots of children when we stayed and very family oriented.

Beautiful resort that absolutely fulfils its name. The views on Gaustatoppen are stunning. Rooms and spa area are well equipped, clean and quiet. The staff is extremely helpful. I lost something in the resort, contacted the info e-mail and the staff did its best to find my stuff. They were succesful and it is on the way back to me. Thank you.

We received great service from the restaurant and reception! During the day we got engaged on Gaustatoppen. We had dinner at the Blikk Restaurant during the evening. The reseptionist let use the shower facilities, and arranged to drive us home after our dinner.

We didn’t stay at the hotel overnight, but still had the most pleasant experience! During the day we got engaged on Gaustatoppen. For the evening we booked dinner at the Blikk Restaurant. The reseptionist let use the shower facilities. He also arranged to drive us home after our dinner, so that both my fiancee and I could have a celebratory glass of wine with our food. Thank you so much for the service you provided, Pär!

We‘ve been there off season, so the Hotel was quiet and not fully booked. The service was extraordinary and quite supportive. It’s a beautiful place with a nice spa area, a cozy bar, restaurant and terrace with a stunning view on Gausta. The interior is very luxurious; a perfect place to enjoy the great breakfast. Our room was spotless clean.

The room was up to high standards, apart from that it was way too hot. With the AC running, and curtains mostly shut, I still had 28C in the evening. I had a room on the sunny side and it was a very sunny day but this was in May so I hesitate to return here for the true summer months.||The swimming pool and sauna was excellent, I was lucky enough to share it with just one more guest. The steam room was closed, at least the door didn’t open. ||Breakfast was very good. Scrambled eggs and bacon was served, although fried eggs are even better and their bacon that morning was more fat than meat. The had one of the better levain bread I’ve gotten on a hotel breakfast, but lacked some more full grain bread options||I stayed away from the hotel dinner options.
