17 Best Hotels in Nashville Right Now | Condé Nast Traveler

"Nashville’s family-friendliest hotel is a year-round resort designed to be a self-contained country-inspired destination. This is a giant complex—one of the largest hotels without a casino anywhere in the world. So, you could spend you whole vacation there, whizzing down slides in the SoundWaves waterpark, checking out the nightly light shows in the atrium, eating next to an indoor waterfall, admiring the plants in the conservatory, and then walking across the parking lot to catch a show at the Grand Ole Opry. That’s not recommended, of course—to love Nashville is to see all of it—but Opryland is a fun destination that connects R&R with the city’s musical history. Rooms are comfortable with pillow-top mattresses and plenty of elbow room. Book an atrium room with a balcony looking out into the resort." - Margaret Littman

Gaylord Opryland

"Why book? Gaylord Opryland thematically celebrates Nashville’s country music traditions from the city’s only resort, complete with everything a resort offers: lots of restaurants, bars, pools, shops, entertainment, and even an indoor light show. Set the scene Gaylord Opryland is one of the largest hotel complexes without a casino anywhere in the world. Its size and family-friendly and convention-friendly vibe, give it a buzzy energy all year. The hotel is centered around a giant atrium—the complex has its own nursery to fill it with plants—so it is always warm and sunny inside, even when it is winter outside. You can dine by a waterfall or take an indoor boat ride and take an indoor stroll.  The backstory Gaylord Opryland was once the hotel next to the Opryland U.S.A. theme park. The parks closed in 1997, and the hotel has continued to expand, adding more performance spaces, convention and meeting rooms, restaurants, pools, a golf course, and attractions. The resort was closed for renovation for several months after the 2010 flood. The rooms Renovated rooms are updated with a clean, minimal but comfortable design. The classic simplicity of the rooms allows you to appreciate all of the extra vibe throughout the hotel without having sensory overload. Pay the extra for a room that opens to the atrium. Those rooms have balconies and views of all the indoor plants, the light shows, and the whole Gaylord vibe. You’ll likely hear music and even the rush of the indoor waterfall. Rooms are spacious enough for extra rollaway cots or cribs. Some suites also have extra Murphy beds.  Food and drink The resort has an extraordinary number of restaurants under its glass roof, ranging from casual pizza and burgers to the Old Hickory Steakhouse which grows some of its herbs inside the atrium. Fuse Sports Bar has more than 100 TVs to catch whichever game is your thing. Ravello serves Italian food with views inside the garden conservatory while Falls Bar & Lounge is nestled next to the indoor waterfall. Room service is available 24-7 and poolside drinks and dining are available both at the traditional swimming pools and in the SoundWaves water park.  The spa Relache Spa offers the standard spa and salon treatments from a quiet oasis of the active resort, ranging from massages to facials to manicures and pedicures. There are a few specialty offerings, such as CBD-infused massages, but the emphasis is on classic relaxation. The spa includes a relaxation room and steam room. The spa is open to non-hotel guests and the session also gives access to the fitness room and one of the swimming pools.  The neighborhood/area Called Music Valley, Opryland is the cornerstone of the area, which is also home to the Grand Ole Opry, the Opry Mills mall, and a collection of small, but groovy boutiques, antique stores and music venues. It doesn’t have a neighborhood feel in that Music Valley isn’t residential and there are not charming blocks to stroll. The Opryland complex, with its parking lot, takes up a lot of the area.  The service Gaylord staff have a phrase: “Consider it done,” and for the most part, any request can be accommodated. The concierge is particularly helpful with other Gaylord properties, such as the Ryman Auditorium, General Jackson, and the Grand Ole Opry, but can assist with tickets and information on other Nashville attractions. Because of the resort’s mammoth size, it may take a few minutes for something to be delivered to your room. Service is polite and accommodating, and the staff is well-trained, but Gaylord Opryland isn’t a luxury resort, so don’t expect the red-carpet treatment unless you are a V.I.P. or have Marriott Rewards status. The resort is also home to a convention center. That area tends to have its own staff and conventions don’t cause service back-ups in the rest of the hotel. For families The entire ethos of Gaylord Opryland is to be family friendly. One all-ages highlight is SoundWaves, a massive indoor-outdoor waterpark with slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, cabanas and its own restaurants. Packages with Soundwaves included should be best purchased when making room reservations. During the winter holidays, Opryland is transformed into a “country Christmas” wonderland with ice sculptures, ice skating, live musical performances, scavenger hunts and more holiday lights than even Santa’s elves could count. Like any resort, there are plenty of poolside activities, menu items, and gift shop distractions for kids. Accessibility The resort’s large size can make it hard to walk for people with limited mobility, but Gaylord provides a full-service accessibility guide, including a resort map with accessibility routes, wheelchair and scooter rental, accessible shuttle transportation, plus ADA-standards on accessible rooms, restaurants, pools, and other attractions. Anything left to mention? Check out the recording booth for WSM radio near the Delta lobby. Download the resort app to help navigate between the different sections of the hotel." - Margaret Littman

The cost for parking each night will be applied to your bill. Please be aware that there is an extra charge if you wish to use the water park. This unique establishment has the only Jack Daniels restaurant in the world inside. While it wasn't anything fancy, I would say it was what you would expect from that type of restaurant. It was good food but kind of pricey. It is very easy to find yourself roaming around taking in the amazing views in total disbelief that you are inside of a resort. The service provided is satisfactory and meets expectations. Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed and casual.

We visited here, but did not stay (but we wished we would have!) I hadn't been here since 1994, and it has expanded so much since then. We had delicious cocktails and took the pleasant boat ride around the gardens. The tour guide was really good. We enjoyed a very nice time here. It was quite relaxing. The staff do a tremendous job keeping the gardens in shape.

We stayed in a garden-view balcony room for my birthday and it was amazing. The price is astronomical but for a special one-night splurge, it's so worth it. Plan to get there right at check in time if you want to have time to walk the whole thing and do any extras at all. We did the river cruise and of course spent some time on our balcony, but without even going to the spa or pool we felt very busy just trying to see everything. The plants are amazing and everything was impeccably clean. Go to the 1 hour parking to the right of the main entrance for check in because you need a room key to do the $37 self parking, and when you check out (at the check in counter) keep your key card because you need it to get out of the self park area after checking out, and have to put it in the card drop box at the parking exit by 11am.

Check-in was quick and easy, which was a great start. We were pleasantly surprised to find we’d been upgraded to a suite, a thoughtful gesture we appreciated. The room was spacious and nicely appointed, but we were surprised to find there was no visible bed. We eventually realized it was a Murphy bed tucked into the wall. While functional, it wasn’t very comfortable, and it felt smaller than the king size we usually prefer, possibly a queen.||That said, the overall experience was unique and memorable. The indoor plant life and waterfall made for a beautiful, almost resort-like setting. Most of the restaurants were enjoyable, though we found Jack Daniel’s to be the exception. The gym was impressive, clean, well-equipped, and easy to access.||Once you get the layout of the property down, navigating becomes much easier. Special thanks to the housekeeping team and the groundskeeper I had a chance to chat with, both were warm and hardworking.||While we truly appreciated the experience, it’s probably a one-time visit for us.

Our stay at the Gaylord Opryland Resort was absolutely amazing! The entire property is breathtaking — from the lush indoor gardens and waterfalls to the elegant design and attention to detail throughout. Everything was immaculately clean, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxing and luxurious. The staff was kind and professional, and there was always something to do or explore, whether you were walking through the stunning atriums, enjoying the pool, or simply relaxing in your room. It really felt like a world of its own! While the parking and resort food were on the expensive side, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We expected resort prices, but just be prepared for those extra costs. Despite that, it was 100% worth it for such a unique and memorable getaway. We had a great time and would definitely return!

We went here for a few days to get away. We stayed in a double bed room with all five. A sleep away bed was extra but worked well. They did clean everyday and I found our hotel quiet 🤫. You will need more towels just small amount of room, but they give you when you ask. The environment was great. You can get lost, but there are many ways to get around. Food was good in the hotel. I do have a few issues. 1. Coffee black was a wait of 30 minutes and six bucks a cup- didn’t want to wake up kids so did not use room coffee. 2. The toilet splashes when you flush it. 3. The first room they offered was on the end and next to the ice machine when we put quiet room. 4. They have stores with cereal but finding milk took about 30 minutes.

Stayed 2 nights for a work event. Found somebody's leftovers in the fridge and there was a tumbler next to the elevator when we got there that was still there when we checked out. Best thing about the place was dinner at Old Hickory. Pricey, but the food was worth every penny. That place is 5 stars all around. Shout out to Wayne, our amazing server!

🌿 A Nature Lover’s Sanctuary – Visually Stunning, Spiritually Calming 🌿 Gaylord Opryland Resort is truly a feast for the senses. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by lush greenery, flowing waterfalls, peaceful fountains, and winding streams. Every turn reveals a new view — the light and shadows change throughout the day, making each walk feel like a journey through a living painting. While the rooms and dining are fairly standard and don’t quite match the price point, the atmosphere more than makes up for it. For those who love nature, quiet beauty, and garden aesthetics, this place is nothing short of a paradise. There’s a sense of Zen and harmony here — the perfect blend of nature and design. It’s not loud or flashy, but deeply calming. Whether you’re wandering the walkways or sitting by a waterfall, it’s easy to forget you’re in the middle of a bustling city. ✨Highly recommended for anyone seeking rest, inspiration, or just a beautiful place to wander and breathe.✨

Yelp
I stayed at the Gaylord Opryland for four nights while attending a conference. I'm somewhat familiar with the brand since I'm a Bonvoy member and have stayed at the Gaylord Texan previously. I was looking forward to seeing what the Opryland has to offer. The Gaylord brand is Marriot's branch of large-scale hotels that have convention centers attached to them. There are several throughout the country, with each them offering the aforementioned convention space as well as several restaurants/bars and overall activity space onsite. One can think of them as almost all-inclusive resorts - I can see people coming here for vacations/weekend getaways. The Opryland location opened in the late 70s and has undergone several expansions and upgrades since. Amenities and aesthetics are one of the biggest pros in my perspective. The decor is over the top, but in a good way. Lots of color, foliage, art, and accents are spread throughout the resort and is really a feast for the eyes. The hotel is huge - much larger than the Texan and separated into several sections that each have their own hubs of shops and restaurants. I honestly couldn't believe how large the hotel is - it just kept going on and on. There are a lot of eateries onsite - how good they are, I'm not sure but in terms of variety there's something for everyone. There's also a waterpark onsite, as well as a fitness center and spa. I stayed in the Magnolia section which was perfect since it was super close to the convention center. I stayed in a double queen room which was a good size and kept up well; my room had balcony which was a nice bonus and added to the aesthetics. In term of cons, I would say location is the biggest one - you're not in the heart of Nashville so if you're looking to explore the city you may want to consider staying closer to downtown. You are, however, super close to the Grand Old Opry so that's something to consider. I would also say this hotel isn't for everyone - for business trips and vacations where you're not looking to leave it's great - but if you're an urban explorer I wouldn't say their offering would match what you're looking for. It's also a little hard to find fresh air - the entire hotel is housed in a big atrium - there's natural light coming in, but you're not technically outside even though there's simulation that you are. I'm sure the filtration system is good, but just note that you're not technically outside. Staff were great - everyone I encountered was friendly and eager to help. Overall, I had a great stay at the Gaylord Opryland - the hotel has a lot to offer and I wouldn't be disappointed if I found myself back here.

Yelp
Massive hotel property that's easy to lose your way in, though there are much-needed staff to direct you in the lobby and common areas. It definitely feels like a Las Vegas-style property, and I don't mean that as a compliment. There are several restaurants on site but not all were open, which led to long wait times at peak dining hours (to the point where they were not even doing to-go orders so we were stuck having to sit down when we just wanted to go back to our room but not order from the limited room service menu). The rooms rates are extremely overpriced--weeknight rates over $400 a night for what really is a 2.5* hotel room with shabby interiors and no amenities and a $28/night resort fee that gets you two bottled waters and free long distance calls (yes, in 2024). I would not stay here again.

Yelp
The Gaylor Opryland resort is a beautiful place, but your experience will really depend on whether you are a visitor or guest. I visited not as a guest of the resort but as a tourist visiting the propjty. I was in town on a solo vacation and heard about the resort from a work partner who highly recommended it. I was staying in Midtown Nashville and took a 15 minute ride via Uber. The resort is located close to the Grand Ole Opry and a shopping center. Upon arriving, I was in awe. It's a massive place that reminds me of the hotels on the Vegas strip. It's beautiful indoor wonderland containing an array of activities including a waterpark, shopping, convention center, restaurants, and an atrium with garden. There are signs everywhere to help you get around but it's still quite confusing. I found a helpful staff member who directed me instantly. Not only did I want to see what the overall property was like, but I specifically visited to try the indoor boat ride. It was probably a 5 minute walk to reach the boat dock and for a Saturday evening, it was not packed. In fact, I was able to get on within a few minutes. As part of the boat ride, you get to ride thru a lazy river in the atrium and view the beauty of the resort and their surrounding garden. A staff member comes along to provide commentary and guide the boat. It takes no more than 15 minutes and the views are beautiful. I learned about so many different species of plants and flowers in the area, as well as some facts about the resort and its inception. On the contrary, it's a bit noisy given the public setting and rushing waterfall in the background. Moreover, it is $15.99 per ride. In in my opinion that isn't the greatest value. Technically, you are paying $1 and some change per minute. I'm not sure if guests have to pay for that, but it should be free for guests and $10 for visitors. Anything higher does not seem like a good value. After the boat ride, I walked around a bit more to see the entertainment offerings. They offer a lightshow at the fountain at night and I was about an hour shy of watching it but I decided to leave as I was bored. Unless you are looking to spend a lot of money on activities or dine, there isn't much to do aside from sightseeing. It's also a journey trying to figure out how to leave the premises. In terms of service, everyone was pleasant and helpful. I had no issues whatsoever. Overall, it was a nice experience and one that I'm glad to have crossed off my list of things to do when in Nashville. I did not see the entire resort, so to be fair, my experience might be limited, but it was enough for me to see what i needed and then decide whether I would return. If you don't plan to pay for multiple activities, then don't plan your whole day around visiting. I likely won't return unless I was staying at the resort or I was with someone who had never been before and they wanted to visit. I'd love the opportunity to actually stay though, and see what it is like as a guest but otherwise, I will pass. Finally, I would recommend to others as it is an ideal tourist spot and the boat ride is nice for a couple or child.

Yelp
This place is massive. I'd stayed at the Orlando one and the Nashville one is gargantuan. Luckily they have an app that will map you around the hotel. I certainly had to use it! Every single person on the hotel staff is fabulous and you know they have been trained to be super helpful and friendly. Maid service was excellent. The only reason this is not a five star review is for the restaurants. None were outstanding but none were terrible. Probably typical for a resort like this. The service was what's bringing the review down. Most of our experiences involved slow service and a few grumpy waiters. We only tried the Italian place, the Mexican place and Jack Daniels. Of the three I would recommend the Mexican place for a quick and light bite--order a taco and a side and Jack Daniels (which is open later) for a more traditional sit-down meal. That being said, if you weren't in Nashville, you would never have to leave this resort. But you are in Nashville so you must!

Yelp
Fantastic hotel. Exceeded expectations, the water park inside is a must do. Most of the restaurants are lovely. The staff is fabulous, the facilities are fantastic. I Loved this place so much , its was like being in a different world. Can't wait to revisit. Parking was expensive.

Yelp
This is the first Gaylord I've ever stayed at and it is breathtaking. Gaylord properties are amazing because you feel like you are in another universe all to yourself. The decor is always beautiful and plants look well kept and in season. When you stay at a Gaylord property there is son much to do and places to eat that you'll never need to go anywhere else.

Yelp
This resort is huge! My husband and I came here after opry mills and walking on the outskirts of the grand ole opry. We probably only saw a quarter of this resort and were in awe of it. We had a chat about possibly staying here next time we come back so we can experience all of the resort and see everything that it had to offer. It was nice to just sit and watch the indoor waterfalls and relax for a bit before heading back to our hotel.

Yelp
This resort is truly a resort and not a hotel/convention center. It is the biggest complex I've ever stayed in, and it's stunning inside. Even though it's been around a long time, they keep it super updated and clean. My room was great. Comfy bed. Shower water pressure and hot water was perfect. I loved that my room was closest to the Bravo gelato shop! There were so many shops and restaurants that even after a 5 night stay, I didn't see everything. Staff were super nice and helpful. I'd stay here over and over.

Yelp
****I did not stay at the resort**** I went to the resort that is part of Marriott, because I was told it's a must. The resort was absolutely beautiful. They have so much greenery, they had a bonsai tree that was 124 years old. They also had fruit trees. I saw a banana tree. They have numerous waterfalls, they had well known stores in the resort. They had a cute boat ride, the Delta River Boat that went around the resort it was about a 15-20 min ride. It was $18 for adults.

Yelp
Completely spectacular! From check in to check out this resort is a mind blowing luxurious break from the real world. Get away to a place that will allow you to escape fully, will immerse you in tranquil beauty, and bring true joy into your life. The Gaylord resort is not just a resort it is a vision of natures beauty... where you are surrounded by the living word without the stress of life. The atrium/gardens/ jungles are exquisite! For someone like me, a person who has worked with plants his whole life, this was a sanctuary of pure beauty. I literally could have spent my whole time in this oasis of nature. From the exotic plants, to the water falls, to the rivers, to the structures... it was awe inspiring. I was completely enthralled! There is shopping, multiple restaurants, a water park complete with slides and lazy river, sweet spots including a gelato heaven, they have a light show, and even a pirate adventure for the little ones. And that just scratches the surface! The people were fantastic. Kind attentive and courteous the staff was always on had to provide assistance. Altogether this was a completely amazing experience! I wish we could have stayed longer. I have been dreaming about going back... it was such a great time I will never forget it.

Yelp
I was visiting Nashville for the weekend, and this was one of the must-see spots I kept reading about from other travelers. I took an Uber from the downtown area where I was staying. You can see how large the hotel resort is from the highway. I entered the lobby area near the magnolia entrance and started my way to the gardens. Wow, wow and wow. The gardens were stunning! I felt like I was on a Caribbean island. The temperature was nice and warm compared to the dreary cold day outside. You keep walking and see something cool and different. I loved the rooms that had the balcony with views directly from their rooms. You can also view them from a higher level. My next stop was the cute little waterfalls near one of the resorts' many restaurants. Next up was the Delta area where you could take a little tour of the area in the boat, which I declined. They have a few shops you can purchase some expensive items, lol. The area has two floors of meeting rooms for business conventions. I would definitely love to stay in this beautiful resort as long as I have one of the rooms with the amazing views. This place is definitely a place to check out as a guest or like me just checking out the resort.

Yelp
I loved staying at this Gaylord Resort! My son enjoyed their soundwaves pool area. The swim area is for guests only, which I loved because it wasn't overly crowded. There were several dining options but we opted to dine at Ravello. Shops within the resort are spread throughout, where you can purchase wine, beer, snacks, and even souvenirs. The rooms were very clean, the service was excellent, and the area felt very safe. I look forward to my next stay!

Yelp
Before entering the security makes you purchase something before entering because "it's at max capacity." Seems like a money grab because it's not full but you can buy your way inside. They have a QR code at the entrance which lets you pick whatever event you want to spend on to get your admission inside the resort. It is a very Nice indoor hotel with numerous plant species and a river. I took the riverboat cruise which was $25 and was a nice experience. Everything was decorated for Christmas which made it even better. Theres alot of activities inside and food options as well.

Yelp
The property is beautiful but has horrible parking and the rooms need to be updated. My room in Cascase was dirty from wear and tear. I didn't even want to shower in the tub. I ordered food to my room - a very basic breakfast and it was $35 and brought in a to go bag with to go trays reminiscent of covid days. The Cascade restaurant food was awful. The steak was thin but $50. Lastly they charged $430 for a very mediocre room but my final bill was $1400. It included valet parking, but the resort fees are ridiculous. One night they charged $597 a night with a state tax of $55, OCC Tax of #41.79. I will NEVER stay there again. The Loews Vanderbilt is a way better hotel for a reasonable cost.

Yelp
This place is absolutely beautiful. Stop by as a tourist this weekend. It was Sunday evening. We wanted to see the lights and the water show. It was beautiful. The lights are spectacular. The downside is that this place is huge so you must rely on maps they have posted and asking staff. After seeing the lights we wanted to stay for dinner at one of the many places we saw online. Trying to get to Ravello so I can try their Veal Picatta I saw and after asking 4 staff members and each pointing us in a different direction we gave up and asked actual people that were there. A native couple that was celebrating their anniversary helped us as much as they could. By the end it was an hour and a half later and I saw a map and we were extremely far away from it still but near the entrance so we opted to just leave and find a free standing place. Go to claim the car and the wait was 17 minutes which isn't bad you see the crowds and know those guys are working their butts off. The discord is only having seating very far from where you need to be to retrieve your keys or see the board to know when your car is ready. You would not hear your name or ticket number in the actual warm lobby. So you stand in front of the door area cold and looking at this little board. No one told us our car was ready at all. We just noticed that it was sitting there behind our line of sight and asked can we have the keys as we are freezing by this point. The only way I'd return is if I was staying here at the place and I would only order room service. Xiao Bao was amazing.

Yelp
Gaylord Opryland: Beautiful Resort, Steep Prices and Wait Times We enjoyed aspects of our stay at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, particularly the stunning botanical gardens, creative design, and overall clean and well-maintained facilities. The app was surprisingly helpful for navigating the sprawling complex and planning activities. Service a joke at most restaurants, but housekeeping was prompt. That said, some downsides dampened our experience. Food and restaurants were generally just "okay," with Fuse Sports Bar being the standout option. Disappointingly, wait times for dinner were consistently long (1hr 45min) even with open tables, leading us to venture off-property several times to avoid the frustration. Additionally, everything at the resort seemed to come at an extra cost, including a hefty $260 price tag for our family of four to access the waterpark. The rooms themselves were also on the small side, with bathrooms that felt cramped and uncomfortable. While the beauty of the resort and helpful service were positives, the high prices, long wait times, and small rooms ultimately made us feel the overall value for money wasn't quite there. For future trips, we'd likely choose a different Nashville accommodation.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel to walk around (they even have a boat that goes through the middle of the hotel). I had looked into staying here and rates were $300+ at the time. They were just starting to set up a few wreaths for Christmas, but had the place still decorated for Halloween. Tip: save yourself the $35 parking fee and park across the street and walk over. 2023 #71

Yelp
What an enjoyable hotel stay this was! First off the negatives. The hotel is massive and even though there is an app to help with navigation it isn't very affective. Also if you pay cheap you're getting the cheap rooms. Yes they are very nice but you will have to walk far to get everywhere. As for parking it is 37 dollars a day. In my opinion that's a little steep. A massive problem with this hotel is the heavy amount of staircases it isn't super accessible. As for the rest it was amazing! The room is cozy and comfortable. Great bathroom space and amenities. The free fountain shows were a great treat and not too busy either. You l could arrive 5 minutes prior to showtime and still find a great seat. Even just wandering the hotel is an attraction! From the various water features to the shops to the Lucious greenery there's so much to explore. I also can't recommend the river boat tour enough. It's a great way to learn more about the hotels history, amenities and horticulture. You also can miss out on the sound waves water park! So many fun indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. It isn't busy either so you can have space in the pools and short waits for the slides. This is an amazing hotel choice if it's within your budget!

Let's start off by saying. This resort is absolutely beautiful, clean, and has a lot to offer. The down side is, you'll be paying for it. They charge a $150 resort fee when you book. The cost of the average room is very reasonable. However, when you're here at Opryland, it would be a shame to not get a balcony view of the interior. We stayed at the Cascade in the past and this time at Magnolia. If you do choose to splurge and get a room with a view, ask for the Cascade! The parking is expensive. If you are just stopping by to go to a restaurant or to walk around the resort, i'd suggest to park around the back, across from the Opryland mall and walking in for free. Every restaurant inside the resort is expensive! But the quality is very good. If you want to save some money and you're a guest at the hotel, try the food court area. We grabbed a pizza and it was pretty good. This resort also has this amazing water park called the Sound Wave which is expensive but worth it because you don't have to fight crazy lines and crowds. It has a lazy river, different tubes, lots of kid-friendly activities, and a wave machine if you want to try surfing. They have a spa at this location too which I have not tried. If you are active duty military let them know. They'll give you a discount upon booking. Overall, I love this place. It's relaxing and beautiful. The bad part is everything is very pricey!

Yelp
Longtime winter tradition in Nashville. There is a large winter season display and activity area. Wander all around the hotel to see different trees and light displays. Outside is a ice sculpture area, ice skating, and tubing area. Plenty of photo worthy sites. Park at the mall for free.

Yelp
I'd forgotten how cool this place is. This is my 2nd time staying here, my first time was during Christmas time. They had the Christmas Story theme going on and the ice rink and slides. It was fun. But this time it's fall season, the place is still the same but without the Christmas decor. It's not cheap staying here as it is a resort. Kinda fancy. But seemed to be geared more towards kids. I get it. It's cool though. Prices for food is not cheap. If you don't want to spend too much, there's The mall next door, Opry Mills. They got food courts and Starbucks. I find that to be a good option instead of limiting yourself to the resort restaurants. Room service was actually pretty good for our stay. Prices were high but you pay for the convenience, it's better than waiting in line though. If you want to eat out, prices will be better outside of the resort, like at opry mills or whatever, but if you like the convenience, their pizza and salad is not bad at all. I'd get the chicken bacon and chopped salad. I'm from Hawaii prices there are high, so it was Last time I had a Cinnabon here in Gaylord Opry resort, it's sucked cuz it was sta lol. But this time, it tasted better and wasn't stale lol. Booked a spa session for the wife, she loved it. The fitness room is small but has a lot of treadmills, not much weight or resistance machines, their Leg press machine was broken. It overlooks the Pool area. Couple bathrooms, no lockers to put stuff in. Make sure you have your room key to get access in the fitness center. The 10 minute day river boat cruise tour was a surprise hit. Our host was very informative telling us a lot about the hotel. I could imagine night cruises will be illuminating, kinda dark and more likely to fall over lol but probably cooler especially during Halloween. Inside the hotel is AC. I was walking around, expecting it to be hot and humid while walking the hallways and up the stairs around the water areas, but no I was not sweating. and it was hot @ss hell outside 90+degrees and humid. Thank god for AC. Major Plus. I'd give this place a 4.5 stars. If you're lucky or vip or pay for a suite, your room could be far away and walking is must here in this huge hotel. Hey, at least you get your workout in lol.

Yelp
*This review is not about staying at the resort* After wrapping up our Grand Ole Opry tour, we had some time to kill. My wife had told me good things about the Gaylord Hotel in Dallas, and suggested we visit this resort. Since it was close by, we trekked over to check it out. The lobby entrance is extensive and leads right to the garden area with skywalk. It felt like being in a rainforest with all the foliage and waterfalls. There are several paths throughout the entire resort and multiple restaurants and shops. I imagine staying here would be quite a experience, but just walking through it was enjoyable.

Yelp
I have experienced more than one Gaylord property and I must say that it is the staff of G. Opryland that make this hotel exceptional. Nothing like being greeted with exceptional kindness and joy upon arriving. Reese and Jamison in Valet to Willy at the front desk. Superb Customer Service.

Yelp
I probably never would have stayed here but was able to get a discount and tried it out. It's like a small village/mall. Was able to have dessert while watching the light show. It's one of those things that everyone should try once for the experience.

Yelp
To visit, amazing. To stay, less amazing. The resort has three big areas to walk through, and decorated beautifully especially during Christmas time. Water everywhere, waterfalls, plants, fountains. Really gorgeous place to walk around and see it. Stayed for a night just to see what it'd be like, picked the cheapest weekday night, opted for an interior atrium view (which was around $100 more than an exterior view). Had a balcony facing the inside gardens area, room G5040. Bed was firm and great, room was a bit small for what it was. Shower was very comfortable and had good water pressure. Nothing was wrong per se with the stay, it was just very expensive for what it was and it wasn't spectacular. There's a $35 parking fee, which I thought was ridiculous. The room is already super pricey, and to add a parking fee on top is too much capitalism.

Yelp
Warning: They will place an EXORBITANT hold on your card. The place itself was lovely, and the staff was quite pleasant. But I came here to write this review as I checked out over a week ago from a one-night stay and they STILL have not released a $650 hold they placed on my card. First of all, they didn't tell me they were going to hold $650, which would have been nice to know up front. (The official policy says that they hold $75 per night, so go figure. Second, I feel that if they ARE going to place such a large hold, they should release it in a more prompt manner. Third, I've now spoken with/emailed with THREE different people about the matter (one of whom was outsourced overseas) and nobody has told me when I might expect to receive a refund. I just wanted to alert other travelers about this hidden cost, in case you might be a single mom like me for whom floating $650 indefinitely is not exactly comfortable.

Yelp
This hotel blew my mind!! Was staying here for a work summit and I could not believe how giant and beautiful it was. It's like it's own little town inside. Checkin was quick and easy. They provide you with a map. Take it. You'll need it. Lol I got lost the first night and if I didn't have that map in my bag I would've slept in front of someone else's door on the other side. There's plenty of shops, restaurants and places to gather and families to be entertained. Hotel staff was friendly and I am definitely wanting to bring the family back for a vacation!

Yelp
Came here for the Christmas festivities which Sis had seen on Instagram and she wanted it all- the boozy apple cider from the Falls bar, Soundwaves, Ice: The Polar Express Experience, a Tender Tennessee Christmas. We show up and the place is humongous. A golf cart driver at the Grand Ole Opry told us Opryland is the largest resort in the United States. He might be right because everywhere we had to go, we had a long walk ahead of us. The place is so big that their app has a GPS in it so you can find your way from your room to any other area of the hotel. I always through resorts should have that but this is the first place I saw that pulled it off. Sometimes the GPS is confused, but after awhile, it gets you where you want to go. Our elevator was next to the outdoor village area so we would head over there to grab a Starbucks at the little shop near the entrance or we'd try Cascades, which is an okay breakfast buffet that doesn't have lots of choices, but they have pretty good execution. The room was nice enough, but needs a little updating. The best part about it was that it was right next to the elevator, which we loved after all the walking we had to do throughout the hotel. It makes up for the lack of view from our hotel room. The restaurants and gift shops are all quality. We had dinner at Jack Daniels which I feel was overpriced for the amount of food you get, but we got a solid ribeye. The gift shop near Delta had toiletries, snacks, tons of fun merch and my favorite souvenir of all stickers. I go to a lot of resorts and some places you can't find a sticker to save your life, but Opryland's gift shop has ALL the stickers. The only problem we had at the resort was the stupid self-parking. You're supposed to use your keycard to your room to access the parking lot and to exit. Not once did it work. You have to wait forever for the valet to answer you because everyone is calling the valet from the entrances and exits to get out. Then they take your room info and open the gate. I asked why my card isn't working and the valet said the guy who could fix it was out of town. Aargh! We spent so much time at those gates that we had to budget time for all of our reservations to make sure we took into account the long wait at the gates. The resort is so nice that this only lost them one star from me, but I don't know if I'll ever return because I don't need that type of aggravation.

Yelp
Stayed here for a conference. Company paid for the room, so I cannot comment on the pricing. Facility is absolutely beautiful and well laid out. Staff are always friendly, although check-in took forever. I got lost pretty much for the first 2 days. So having a map handy is a good idea. The resort is in proximity to the mall and a few other places. Plenty of dining choices at the resort. Lot of activities and swimming pools available for those who have more time on their hands. Food for our three day conference was catered by the resort. Amazingly good stuff.

Yelp
This resort is nothing short of magical! It's beautifully decorated for the holidays and has so much to offer its guests. Tonight we saw they had carolers singing for hours for the guests and the display of Jesus' birth reading the Bible out loud. It was all beautiful. They have many options for shopping and dining inside as well. It's well worth visiting.

Yelp
Was here for a work conference. 2k of is. The property is beautiful but, a few challenges. 1. Prices are insane. Before tip one drink was $23 2. They messed up our lunch one day and a couple hundred people in our group had no food to eat in the conference center. Didn't even try to resolve it. 3. I didn't appreciate the bartender pushing her MAGA political agenda on patrons. Ps... Jose at the restaurant close to check in was exceptional!

Yelp
The conference I was attending was at the hotel and I stayed for this reason. Nicest hotel in the area as most others were motels and a little run down. Lots of local families were there for staycations, as they have a water slide park, golf course, and lots of activities on property and nearby. Check in was incredibly lengthy, but being that my conference alone (multiple were going on at the same time) had over 3k attendees it was to be expected. I was provided a property map but the place is massive and as another Yelper mentioned cumbersome to navigate if you are going to the convention center on-site. There are signs and arrows everywhere, like a theme park, that are helpful. There are multiple dining options, and they do serve Starbucks coffee but they're not an official Starbucks location. The food at all the places was pretty standard hotel fare and we chose to eat of property unless we were in a rush. I had an Amazon package delivered and it went to the business center where they charge you a handling fee. Not a big deal, but most hotels will have the package the delivered to your room and not charge you, but not the Gaylord. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and the staff was extremely friendly. Rooms were updated and generous is size. They have a shuttle that can take you to the nearby mall and they also pick up at their sister "overage" hotel across the street. Overall, a great place to stay if your conference is being held there.

Yelp
Oh, Opryland. You have only gotten more mediocre. Me and my family stayed two nights here during the holiday season. Where Opryland Resort is beautiful, it's beautiful. The lights at night and the sound of waterfalls outside your hotel room is relaxing. The wait staff and food options are aplenty and fantastic. The visuals and photo opportunities are amazing. The workers who have been on their feet all day are kind and patient. This was never the issue with Opryland, and it never will be. The issues lie everywhere else. The hotel rooms themselves are cheap. The walls are thin and the seals on the door are questionable with the amount of sound leakage. There are too many people, and loads of screaming and crying children. Lines for anything (especially event related) will be hours long if you don't go as soon as they open. You want to go to Opryland? Ask yourself why. Is it the view? Or is it a special event they're hosting there? Maybe it's the idea of staying at a luxury hotel in Nashville. If it's any other answer besides "the sights," pick another resort or only stay here for one night. You can experience just about everything there is to experience in a span of 24 hours.

Yelp
This is one of the most beautiful resorts my husband and I have stayed. We were able to check in hours early, our room was so nice and clean and I loved that it had a second sink outside the bathroom to make getting ready easier. We had an interior facing room so I loved sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view of the resort. The restaurants and shops are great and I love the convenience of being able to grab quick bites and Starbucks too! We will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place more, and perhaps if I had just been here as a causal visitor I would have. To start off, it's beautiful. The greenery and water features create a nice atmosphere. Although, since it's all enclosed in a giant glass dome, it's quite humid all the time. And if you're near any of the water features (like The Falls, which is a lounge), it's incredibly loud and not conducive to conversation. The biggest issue is navigation. This applies both to the hotel side and the convention center. Signage left a lot to be desired, and I found myself lost more than a few times. Once you get close to something signs will pop up, but you have to already be nearly there, which is quite unhelpful. The convention center is huge, which is a plus and a minus. We held our organization's international conference here, and many participants had issues with both the amount of walking and the (un)ease of navigation. The maps they hand out are only marginally helpful. I also tried their app as a means to navigate, but it never worked (I could never search for anything and the wayfinding wouldn't 'populate' the map so I was just a blue dot in the middle of nowhere). As a side note, many of the routes encompass going up and down stairs, which, as you can imagine, would be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. The map does show accessible routes, but they are hard to find and not well marked on the paths, plus they make you go way out of the way. And, some of these accessible routes contain cobblestone like walkways, which, are not very accessible. Add in that some of the elevators were not working when I was there and if I had any mobility issues I would be quite annoyed. It is nice that you really never have to leave this place. There are plenty of food options, though if the hotel is booked up for a conference or event good luck finding a seat during prime dinner time. The ambiance is really nice, and again, if I wasn't here for a conference and therefore always trying to navigate to a particular spot, I might have found it more endearing. But, it was just annoying.

Yelp
Gaylord Opryland Resort is an incredible place to stay as it's conveniently located close to the Country Music Hall of Fame and many historic sights. To say the resort is huge, is an understatement! The resort is separated into four different quadrants with huge areas of foliage, tall trees and an abundance of flowers. Truly beautiful. With a large resort comes many options for dining and drinking. Probably my one criticisms is that many of the restaurants and bars open and close and rather 'funky' hours, so you may spend time waiting for them to open, when you're already for dinner and drinks.

Yelp
We were back for our second visit to this resort for a photographic convention. It's obvious that they can easily handle the 5000+ people staying in the hotel and have a magnificent convention center to go with it. On a size scale of 1 to 10 it's easily a 15. This place is huge!!! I heard they have 8 acres under roof. It's more like a city. Plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, walking paths, water rides, fountains and even a boat ride. The place is immaculate and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful when you're looking for a destination in the hotel. I am happy to say that pricing (while hotel pricing is usually higher than outside) was not a killer, outside of the four dollar bananas in the convention center. The room was a good size with two queen beds and a comfortable outdoor patio overlooking the gardens. Big TV and a nice size bathroom with a bathtub / shower. I visited multiple restaurants (Solaro Cantina, Ravello Italian and Old Hickory Steakhouse) and enjoyed them all. I reviewed them all separately. Once you learn how to get from point A to B properly, you can eliminate many unnecessary steps. I am looking forward to our next convention back here as they usually come back every few years. I was surprised to see some one and two star reviews but they came from guests with only one or two Yelp reviews. I do not take them too seriously and neither should you. They treat their guests well here and that's what staying in a resort is all about. KUDOs to the team here at the Gaylord Opryland Resort Gardens.

Yelp
Massive hotel, lots of staff and very unhelpful and inflexible. Do not recommend the front desk staff, first couldn't find my name and then it was all robotic. Am having difficulty believing there are no rooms with one bed. The person glanced for 5 seconds before the "call center" reply. Also, for such a a grand lobby... overlooking the parking lot, not be best guest experience. Room is ugly as well... have stayed in better places at the airport...

Yelp
Stunning hotel. We did not stay here but spent the day here exploring the gardens and displays so this review is for that. We ate at Cascades for lunch and took the boat ride. It is simply gorgeous! Everyone was very friendly.

Yelp
Christmas is the most wonderful time of year especially at Gaylord Opryland Hotel. There are so many fun activities for every age. My friends and I spent hours admiring the lights, decorations, botanical Christmas gardens, light show, boat ride, and ICE events. It is not cheap- this is a resort with resort prices and expensive parking, so expect to spend $$$$. It is a huge property with a plethora of amenities: restaurants, bars, retail and outlet shopping, live shows, a spa, gym, and newest attraction Sound Waves Water Park. Highly recommend a visit at least once. So much fun and relaxation in one place that you don't even need to leave the property.

Yelp
@ Ck-In if U didn't know... Parking; Self @ $33/night and Valet $36/night. Resort Fee @ $32/night. It does include complimentary daily rm refresh w/ two Aquafina water bottles. I suppose if U don't mind the added sodium in Ur water & it's not natural spring water. To say their rms start @ $499/night ... I thought they would offer compliments of btr grades. 1D. After ck-in, self parked, and settled luggages in the rm. Rm sitch w/ two queen beds. BathRm. U can consider it 1bath w/ a tub. Then outside the door, there is an additional sink for use w/o being next to the toilet. Again, I expected compliments @ a btr grade. Set up @ the countertop was just a bar soap on a dish w/ a singular lotion. Shower does offer body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Walked around to get a bite. Simple w/ a slice of pizza @ Paisano's Pizzeria Vino. Then a couple of beverages @ Fuse Sports Bar. Settling in the rm ... walls are very thin. U can hear all the footsteps in the halls & all of the voices, carry. The snores cannot be muted, unfortunately, even w/ turning on the tv=*{ 2D. Went to the gym. They had several cardio machines, a stair stepper & a bike or two. They had a stretch area that would only fit maybe two ppl, they have a set of DB & a machine w/ weights. They do have towels & plastic cups if U want to get filtered hot & cold water during Ur workout. 3D. Placed an order to go @ Ravallo. Although it was to-go, had only a glass of wine while waiting for the food & 1ce I dug into it... disappointed bc the texture of the fettuccini seemed as if they weren't ready & the shrimp seemed like they boiled in in water & was frozen not fresh=*{ 4D. Placed a to-go order from Fuse Sports Bar; MushRm Burger w/ the mushrm aioli on the side. The patty was perfectly crispy & the bread was divinely grilled. If U don't know yet, the potato salad is a must have=*}

Yelp
We loved this place!! We are from California and got to spend a weekend in nashville for a conference and spent one extra night here for this hotel. The positives: the grounds are amazing!! We could have spent days exploring. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. The location to the grand ol opry was great! It was easy to get to. a lot of food options and little markets. You will not go hungry or get bored. Things to know: it's huge so be prepared to walk. I would probably not have loved it as much if we weren't in a room overlooking the atrium. It's expensive, I thought it was worth it, but after parking, food, the room upgrade, it was not a cheap night.

Yelp
HUGE properly as it's know to be the largest in the world. Fantastic service, although the rooms are kind of dated. Bring comfortable shoes and download the hotel app. I walked close to 4 miles everyday and I was in the conference center for the two days I was there. The app literally will GPS you to where you need to go if lost. Restaurants are pricey. I went to Ravellos for a salad and asked if they could put salmon on it and was told it was a $33 up charge.. my salad would have been $46 lol the salmon dish is like $40/$42. The pizza is great at Ravellos though. Good place for families and certainly amazing for conferences. Just be weary of the chill through the conference center. It was unbearably cold.

Yelp
First off the place is gorgeous. Makes me want to tend to my garden when I get home. I'm sure I would need to hire full time help to keep the plants at the level of these plants. Check in was quite a production and lengthy, however they were accommodating in a request for a balcony. Friends next to me were upgraded without a fee to the balcony. She said she didn't stay in Marriott's often however was happy to get the upgrade. Unfortunately for me, I do stay at Marriotts quite often, however was told in order to have a balcony there was an extra $75 charge a day plus fees. I did want a balcony so I paid the extra $225 plus whatever fees. Throughout my conference a few friends shared they were upgraded to balcony's without requesting one. One was actually irritated because she then had a king room when she wanted two beds. So I wasn't happy by the end of the conference that I paid extra when friends had gotten it for free. I think there is a quota possibly? Because one employee started filling out the information, and the other said she needs it to be under her name so she will do it because "she needs it". If you are coming for a conference, I recommend walking around to figure out where to go. It's a large hotel, however there are ways to shorten your walk once you figure out how the walkways connect to your room area and to the convention. The restaurant Fuse was a disaster at lunch time. We waited over an hour to get our food, however I left a review for that restaurant already. If you are going to the Grand old Opry, you can walk to it if you like to walk. Then you won't have to wrestle with parking or Ubers. There are multiple Starbucks on premise. Huge lines though. The room was relaxing to hear the waterfalls with the balcony. It helped buffer the hallway noise a bit. I would stay here again. There is a mall next door that many parked at to avoid the daily charge of parking at the hotel. There is an indoor water park on premise that is an extra charge. Bring water with you to avoid the resort expense of purchasing water bottles. The conference rooms were out of water each time I tried getting some. Have a fun time! Enjoy!

Yelp
This hotel had all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately the rooms were all sold out for the conference so I didn't get a chance to stay here. I'm definitely thinking about planning a vacation here for next year. This is suppose to be the largest Gaylord property. It definitely felt like I was walking through a large airport! This hotel even had water slides and other adventures like a theme park. The views were spectacular! I enjoyed attending the conference at this location. Be sure to wear comfy shoes here because you will be walking for a while if you want to view every area of the hotel. They have several restaurants and shops throughout it is on the pricey side. I bought a bag of chips, water and a kind bar in the store and it cost me roughly $24! Wow! I guess that's expected in this resort style hotel.

My favorite hotel on my working circuit. This place is a city within itself. The amenities are comfortable. The grounds under the roof are dazzling.

Yelp
Title: A Captivating Stay with an Atrium Oasis, but Missed SoundWaves Fun Our family had an unforgettable Labor Day weekend at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center last year. From the moment we stepped into the atrium setting, we were captivated by its unique ambiance. It was unlike anything we've experienced before, and the variety of attractions available were truly impressive, from restaurants and shops to gondola rides, a fitness center, and a pool--there was something for everyone to enjoy. As travelers coming from Hawaii, this resort offered a completely different vibe, and we thoroughly relished the change of scenery during our stay. The charming city of Nashville with its country music theme added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip, and the food options were absolutely amazing. The only regret we had was arriving just a day after SoundWaves closed for the season. Admittedly, when we booked the trip months in advance, we overlooked checking its operational dates. We had planned to take our three kids to SoundWaves, and missing out on that experience was the biggest downfall of our otherwise splendid stay. Despite that small setback, the Gaylord Opryland Resort proved to be a memorable destination with its extraordinary atrium, ample amenities, and Nashville's vibrant atmosphere. If you're seeking a distinctive retreat that combines family fun and a unique setting, this resort should be at the top of your list. Just be sure to double-check the availability of specific attractions to make the most of your visit! I hope to plan a visit one day again, it ain't cheap coming from Hawaii but one day!

Yelp
Ok so I've had stayed here a few times now and have come to different events throughout the years here. I can honestly say they are not consistent and that's why I have to give them a 3 star. I have been the guest and the organizer of events so I've experienced both sides. The hotel is definitely beautiful and overwhelming large. It's a little town in its own. They have beautiful gardens and a few restaurants choices. They also have a few coffee shops and souvenirs stores with snacks and things. The rooms are really not that impressive for the cost per night but the hotel is a small town so it takes lots to upkeep I'm sure. The beds are comfy (or at least mine was) and everything worked except the internet... it was so frustrating specially because I needed it while there to do my job. If you using the free Wi-Fi just know it's not good for work. Not even on my phone. The tech company support they use is AWFUL in big capital letters. They never were able to help me and the agents were rude. The concierge people were also rude and no customer oriented. I had a bad experience every time I called them for help. I stay there 3 days and I lost work aka money because I couldn't do my work and I could leave because of the conference. I would recommend just if you have to stay there for a conference but I wouldn't recommend if you just visiting Nashville or have work to do while in Nashville.

Yelp
I'm sure it is a fine place and probably exciting place to stay if you are just a guest and have never been to a hotel like this before. If you are attending a conference here or going to the grand old Opry it is a fine place to stay for a couple nights. Working a conference here has a lot of challenges because of how spread out and difficult everything is to get to when you are trying to avoid guest areas. The restaurants on property are horribly overpriced and the food quality is just ok. There is also not a lot in the area to get to without driving or taking an Uber.
