Recognized by Travel + Leisure readers as one of the best resorts in the state, it delivers four-and-a-half acres of lush indoor gardens, a world-class spa, and a sprawling water park; during the holidays, it transforms with the immersive Ice! experience, themed cocktails, a 6,000-square-foot skating rink, and a towering Christmas tree." - Kat Stinson Kat Stinson Kat Stinson is an award-winning freelance journalist and content writer. Charlene at the front desk was an absolute angel. She provided exceptional service from the moment I arrived to check in. While I was juggling two toddlers, she went above and beyond by helping calm them down, which truly meant the world to me. Since this was my first time staying here, she took the time to give me a great overview of the property and offered excellent food recommendations. I also loved the room it was clean, spacious, and beautifully done. The Christmas decorations and holiday attractions were absolutely beautiful and made our stay even more special. This was hands down the best check-in experience I’ve ever had, especially during the busy holiday season, and I would definitely come back and stay here again.

We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas it was excellent! My teenagers loved the pools gyms and activities. We all loved the circus show. The rooms were dated but service was great. When checking out Alan our bell hop was excellent he gave us facts about the hotel and was super fast and efficient it really made it a stress free load up during a busy day. We will be back!

We came to the Gaylord from Oklahoma to enjoy Christmas fun with our little girls for one night. The pricing is a little steep, but we knew it’d be so much fun. Upon arrival, we had to park on the 3rd floor of the parking garage. Not that serious since there was an elevator, we had a ton of bags (no luggage on wheels so not the lightest load lol) but to our surprise, the elevator didn’t work.. so we made the hike up to the lobby which was a walk. Upon coming in, we were so excited to be there and see how pretty it was. We made it to the check in desk, the lady gave us our room keys and sent us on our way in a hurry without explaining where our room was. We knew it was on the 3rd floor but there were SpECIFIC elevators that led to our room number which we had no idea. We walked around for 40 minutes with all our luggage, little ones were exhausted, we were sweating and not a worker in site to ask for help. Made our way back up to the lobby, and pleaded for direction to where our room is. A lady at guest services helped show us where our elevator was thankfully. We found our room finally, just for our keys to NOT WORK. At this point we were just mad and needed to sit down. I told my husband and our kids to wait in the hallway while I went to go get us keys that worked. The lady again, at guest services helped get our keys activated and apologized. Made my way back up and we got into our room after almost an hour after checking in. We relaxed for a bit then made our way down to the Texas station for dinner. The service was horrible.. we ordered adult beverages, and all asked for a water as well and never received them.. took 20 minutes to even get the cocktails. No waiter checked on us after receiving food, we had to waive him down for our check. ICE event was great! No complaints on that, was the best part for sure. When we got back to the room and we ordered room service. Took an hour and a half to get and the food was cold but whatever we were just ready for bed after that. We woke up ready to check out and called down asking for a trolly for our luggage this time since we struggled upon arrival with it all, they said give them 20 minutes and they’d come up. We waited an hour and no trolly so we just hiked with our luggage because we were ready to go. I know the hotel was busy, but for the price you pay you’d expect amazing service. We loved coming, just had some hiccups that made the stay a bit annoying.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... an excellent holiday experience!! Everything was top-notch. We live in the DFW Metroplex, and planned a couple's getaway (mini-trip) along with our best friends. We could not have chosen a better resort! The atrium and grounds were breathtaking! Also, the ICE! exhibit was awesome. ||Our stay began with Kendall at the Registration Desk. He assisted the agent to ensure our needs were met and our requests were accommodated. Both representatives were professional, personable, and eager to ensure that our stay exceeded our expectations. Our room and view were amazing! Housekeeping did an excellent job! And the fragrance elevated the ambiance created. ||Also, thank you to Gaylord and Marriott's Leadership and Management team. You are doing a superb job, and it is appreciated!

Google
Great Property, Weak Service It really is an impressive property, but you can sure feel the corporate cost cutting. They do their best to minimize contact with guests. Want to check in and avoid the 2 hour check-in line (Christmas Eve) go online. Want to order room service...go online. Dinner reservations...you got it. Don't ask for a concierge...they dont have one. They do have a "Customer Service" desk with 1 employee who will tell you to go online for whatever it is that you want. Parking is a bear at this place. Don't expect valet to be available. Be prepared to walk. A little signage would be nice, especially when you step off the elevator and have no idea which of the mile-long corridors leads to your room. Don't expect much from room service, no dining cart, no coffee carafe, no silverware. Room service shows up in a plastic bag, with plastic utensils, paper salt packets, paper coffee cups, etc. The one bright spot in the service was at the Old Hickory Steak House. The service was outstanding, as was the food! Make sure to make your reservations.....online.

Ok honest review. Came for a conference & thought it was a fabulous resort for that purpose because restaurants and activities are on-site, conference area was perfect (huge screens, plenty of clean restrooms, conference dining staff was AMAZING), and there’s jogging trails/gym/and yoga to keep physically active while attending a conference. I also really liked the restaurants. The Italian restaurant had the best food & cocktails, and their staff was great including the hostess, waitresses, and managers. 2 of the managers came to ask us if we were enjoying everything and I’ve always respected when managers do that so kudos to them. Now, my only negative comment and the only reason I wouldn’t stay here for my personal vacation (conference would be fine) is that the room we stayed in was dated and dirty. I’m sure the room was beautiful 10 years ago but it’s not anymore. They need to put money into remodeling the rooms because I much rather stay somewhere new. They could keep the same hill country aesthetic but revamp the room. There was mold in the corner of the exterior tub that stood out against the brown tiles. I told the front desk and they had someone come clean it. The grout looked cleaner but the mold was still there. I don’t want to travel some place that is dirtier than my own home especially at the price per room plus parking spent here. So that’s my review. I would definitely stop by to eat at the Italian restaurant again but would not spend my own money to stay in one of these rooms.

I don't like using parking garages and this wasn't any different. We got confused as to how to find our level. The bed was very comfortable and the view would have been great if was on the inside looking at the decorations and a balcony, we looked out at a roof. But a nice room anyway. Kids running up and down the hallways wasn't fun, but they finally stopped. Was quiet to sleep and first thing in the morning. The place was beautiful and I was impressed. The Christmas decorations were very pretty. Needed more restaurants that were more affordable. I know you pay alot for the rooms, so the food prices are to be expected. The coffee shop was busy. But our muffins and drink were delicious Starbucks 😋 products. I would go back.

The Gaylord Texan in Dallas is an unforgettable experience! From the moment you walk in, the resort feels grand, immersive, and thoughtfully designed. The indoor atriums are stunning—lush, spacious, and beautifully themed—making it feel like a destination all on its own, no matter the weather. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well-appointed, offering a perfect place to relax after exploring everything the property has to offer. Dining options are plentiful and high-quality, with something for every taste, whether you’re looking for a casual bite or a more upscale experience. What truly sets the Gaylord Texan apart is the exceptional service. The staff is friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to make your stay special. Combined with the vibrant atmosphere, events, and activities throughout the resort, it’s ideal for families, couples, conferences, or a weekend getaway. If you’re looking for a hotel that feels like a full resort experience, the Gaylord Texan delivers on every level. Can’t wait to return!

Yelp
Gaylord Texan Resort - Dallas, TX A Review From the Heart -- Infinity and Beyond Returning to the Lifestyle Medicine Centers since 2019 has been a journey of quiet perseverance -- suffering in silence, trying to make my way back to the work I love. And today, I'm so grateful to say: I finally made it. I'm healing six patients a day, five days a week, offering Lifestyle Medicine to every patient who wants it -- offering the kind of guidance I wish someone had given me and my mom when I was growing up sick with severe asthma. Coming back to Dallas felt like coming full circle... and the Gaylord Texan Resort embraced me like royalty. From the moment I arrived, José at the front desk made me feel like an all-star -- warm, kind, and unforgettable. And then came one of the greatest surprises of my life: I was upgraded to a Presidential Suite -- for the very first time. A once-in-a-lifetime reminder that even when you start from the dirt-low, life can lift you higher than you ever dreamed. Every staff member was a shining example of true hospitality. The wonderful ladies at the restaurants cared for me and my group with such kindness, attention, and warmth. And Jan from Towne Park was absolutely phenomenal -- helping me bring all of my belongings downstairs with genuine respect and a comforting presence. I felt safe, supported, and valued the entire time I was there. And just when I thought it couldn't get better -- upon checkout, they graciously gave me a 1 PM late checkout so I wouldn't miss the incredible finale of our Lifestyle Medicine conference. That thoughtful gesture meant the world to me. But Dallas wasn't done with its magic. When I came downstairs to get a key back to my room, I ended up meeting the friends of the President of the American Medical Association -- who now follow me on Instagram. You cannot make this up. Talk about a dream come true. This hotel didn't just host our conference -- they elevated it. They lifted us. They made us feel seen. And they made me feel like a king in a place I once walked into just hoping to belong. I will absolutely return every single time our conference comes back to Dallas. Gaylord Texan Resort, you have earned my loyalty, my gratitude, and this glowing review for infinity and beyond.

Yelp
TLDR: if you are not staying overnight and visiting the ICE! exhibit, you will not be served at the on-property restaurants. Plan accordingly. We visited Texan Station while at Gaylord Texan for the ICE! exhibit, and while the ICE! exhibit itself was good--it took about 30 minutes, and the kids had fun on the sleds--the restaurant experience left a very bad impression. Despite being paying customers inside the Gaylord property, we were told that Texan Station is for overnight hotel guests only. There is a sign stating this, and anyone who is not staying overnight is directed to use only the grab-and-go options in the marketplace (such as Auntie Anne's and similar spots). When we got there, small cold subs were $15 so we left to go off property. This was frustrating and disappointing, especially since the ICE! exhibit clearly attracts many visitors who are spending money on-site. Being turned away from the sit-down restaurants felt unwelcoming and left a bad taste in my mouth--not just about this restaurant, but about the hotel overall.

Yelp
So now that I've had my experience, I would definitely say, I understand why this place has three star reviews. Parking- for this particular location, it is paid parking and definitely very frustrating. The cost for overnight is close to thirty one dollars, and there's nothing you can do to avoid it. Amenities - everything here was a very much a pay for play situation with very few things that you can enjoy just to enjoy it which is very frustrating because you're already spending a plethora of money on this place. They did have 2 pools. Restaurants - Im starting to realize more and more. How expensive this town is, and they know they have a captive audience. So you are definitely going to pay quite a bit for the meals and honestly, nothing was necessarily very good. It was fine tho. Bellhops- you need to bring money for tipping because there is no way you are going to be given a card to take your luggage to your room or to have your luggage taken out of your room unless you are going to physically handcury it by yourself in each hand. They do have an a t m however, that breaks bills. That was a new one and very helpful. Anyway, maybe I would like this place a lot better if it didn't feel like it was an effort to get anywhere and do anything. But it was so terribly expensive I felt we were nickel and dimed at every single thing and nothing felt like it was a decent value...

Yelp
We went here tonight to see the Ice Exhibit. After waiting in line for an hour, we spent about 30 minutes in the actual exhibit. The actual exhibit was cool but I wouldn't pay to go return. It was the hoards of people that made the experience unforgettable and not in a good way. We couldn't really enjoy the exhibit because of the amount of people they packed in there. Most of them little kids not being watched by their parents. One kids went missing for a bit and there were teens doing TikTok dances all over the place and making people stop so they could do it. It was just miserable. The staff really should've not packed so many people inside. It was very claustrophobic. The actual hotel itself is worth seeing at Christmas...at least once.

Yelp
The Gaylord Resort is a wonderful place to escape for a spa retreat or dine with family and friends! This place is massive!! It has a bunch of cute historical Texan and "European" inspired buildings. They have a large outdoor pool area with plenty of recliners under the umbrellas and cabanas. You can even order food to be delivered to your chair! Beware though, it may take about 30 minutes for the food to arrive!

Yelp
Another great experience at Gaylord Texan Resort. We went here for a stacation, a one night stay to recharge our mental batteries. Due to my elite status with Marriott, we were upgraded to a suite and it was REALLY nice. The usual price would have been about $1,000 a night so it was interesting to see how the other half with money lives. We loved the room, which actually was a very large living area and a separate bedroom. There was a sofa bed for the kid. Two TVs. A very large table that could seat 8 people. The views of the lake were spectacular. The bed was super comfortable. The shower stall was stone instead of tile as in a regular room. It was just a great room and really added to the enjoyment of our stay. Check in was easy. Service was impeccable. The resort continually amazes me how they keep the atrium the perfect temperature no matter how hot or cold it is outside. The price of parking has gone up to $29 plus tax in September 2025. Resort fee remains at $26. I am not sure what it pays for, but it is what it is. Overall, we love Gaylord Texan and it delivered what we needed to face the world for a while before we return.

Yelp
This place has definitely lost its luster. Stated here for a business function all week and this property is massive. The rooms are clean and the products are in the rooms are nice. The aesthetic is very dated with old and out of date furniture and technology. It feels like they basically aren't updating trying to squeeze every dime till it becomes a "must do" situation. The Glass Cactus and Texan Station restaurants lacked original and inventive menus. The Old Hickory was a fantastic steakhouse with a great steak and great Baked Alaska for dessert. All in all this was a let down.

Yelp
Massive hotel /convention center! We went at Christmas time and there were lots of activities going on (additional cost), the atrium area was beautifully decorated and had a very cool light show! It was VERY crowded because of all the activities, it calmed down around 8pm and we were able to walk around by then with no crowds. There are several stores, restaurants and bars inside so you never really need to leave and the atrium area is absolutely beautiful, full of plants and water features. The rooms are nice especially if you get one looking to the inside. Our room was quiet inside but on the balcony during the day very loud with people, activities and the large water features. The only down side is the long check in lines and you literally can get lost inside.

Yelp
I wanted to share my recent experience at the Gaylord Texan for anyone considering a visit, especially for the ICE exhibit. I booked a trip for my dad's birthday, and the highlight was supposed to be the ICE event. Unfortunately, the exhibit was canceled two days in a row due to technical issues. This really threw off our plans because we waited around the hotel instead of doing other activities, thinking it would reopen. When I tried to get compensation, they initially said they couldn't help because I booked through a third party. Eventually, they agreed to waive the resort and parking fees and add 5,000 Bonvoy points. However, the next day, I noticed the points weren't there and the credits hadn't appeared. We also ate at their Riverwalk Cafe buffet, which was $32 per person plus extra charges, and the food was just okay, with a mislabeled stew that was actually pork not beef. Now I'm seeing some confusing pending charges on my credit card that don't match what they emailed me. I'm giving it a little time to see what posts and then I'll follow up if needed. Final Tip: If you're thinking of going to the ICE exhibit, plan for the possibility of cancellations. They usually send an email by around 10 AM if they're canceling that day, so check your email each morning. We missed out on other activities in Dallas because we were waiting around the hotel to avoid extra parking fees and make sure we didn't miss the exhibit time--only to have it canceled again. So definitely double-check and be ready to adjust your plans. If I had to do it again I'd go somewhere more centralized to our activities and would leave this as an option not a main reason to visit as they are not reliable and definitely not worth the cost.

Yelp
We have stayed here several times but this week was my first time experiencing the Conference center while at a 3 day work event. I want to recognize the staff who work the meals -they were so friendly. Even saying good morning with my name (had my conf badge) and making sure to tell us to have a great day or just check in to see if we needed anything. Serving that many folks is no small task so big cudos to those teams who went above and beyond to do it well. The conference area was good -nice rooms, great audio, large amounts of restrooms that stayed very clean. All and all great spot for a conference and of course having access to the full hotel amenities while here just made it spot on perfect. We had our night event at the glass cactus and had a blast!

Yelp
The people are incredible! Presentation will knock your spurs off.... Grand marble entry, high ceilings, giant Texas size chandeliers. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Edit to my review: LOCK UP YOUR MEDICINE!!!! I had controlled medication stolen. May have been when I was in the room and my med was on the counter.... I just didn't realize till I got home. Now that I'm going to run out before my next appointment... Yes, I made a police report. --with security AND Grapevine, TX. Lock up everything ‍ Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Pass through to the atrium, again Texas sized. You find multiple restaurants, a Riverwalk even working model trains on display. The Gaylord puts on a Lone Star Christmas with a special Christmas Village in the convention center. That means on top of the traffic for those staying at the Gaylord are day-trippers coming just for the Christmas Village. **Be prepared for crowds and traffic!** Staying at the hotel does get you the short line to get in... but it's still just as crowded once you're in the event. Also, if you eat on the resort it's easy to just charge to your room! However, be prepared for the bill. The first day we grabbed sandwiches at the Texas Station. Sorry, I didn't get photos... I was truly disappointed with it and waiting for the blu cheese it was supposed to come with as well as ketchup for the fries. Basically two sandwiches and fries, tea and a water = $50.80 The next evening we ate at La Cantina on the Riverwalk. They had buffet dinner. We had that and two waters = $107.30 I don't mind paying $100 for a meal (we ate at Cattlemen's in Ft Worth and spent more... but I expect to get quality food and service. I don't think you get that here. ** At least that is not what we saw. You will find the room spotless!!!!! They are cleaned DAILY!!! Some hotels try to save by skipping days cleaning... not here! Fabulous!!!! This place is CLEAN! With as many children running wild I don't know how they do it. *****CLEAN***** Parking- it will $$$ cost to park so plan on it. Either park yourself and save $20 a day or $49. a day for valet parking. YES - a DAY! ...and people remember to tip these workers! If you have a little extra to bless somebody and they loaded your bags... pay it forward. If they do a good job ‍. Overall, it's nice. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. We made memories... for that I loved it. I can't say I would want to go again or recommend it. Our reasons for low score was lots of noise! Things kept dropping on the floor above... sounded like they were playing jacks! Woke me up! Kids running hollering down the hallway... constantly (M-Th) The high cost for meh food (reminded me of cruise ship food). The great... Texas hospitality, close to home, and CLEAN.

Yelp
This was a great experience. I went there for a week-long conference. For disaster recovery professionals and the hotel was perfectly suited for that type of event, large space large meeting rooms. Great for families, multiple things to do. I'll follow-up with more reviews on the restaurant. But it's a pretty Nifty place if you're in town. It has its own water park. The only thing that I can suggest is to get a room that is not facing the interior which is a little counterintuitive. But the noise can be sometimes loud. During the day, especially if you have young ones So, just a suggestion to try to knock down the noise a little bit is to get a room that is facing away from the interior of the building. It is important to note though that the music and loud.Noise usually have a cutoff period of around eight or nine o'clock p.M, so it's not too bad.And it does not go throughout the night.

Yelp
This is definitely one of the nicer places I have stayed for a work conference. There are a lot of amenities on site. They have a heated outdoor pool, an indoor pool, four restaurants, a trolley that will take you to the waterpark, and kid friendly attractions throughout their atrium. When I arrived late on a Sunday, there was a bit of a line at the check-in counter, but it moved very quickly. I did not drive but on side parking is $29 a day or 49 if you want to use the valet service. The hotel is huge and it is attached to the conference center, so it is easy to get to your conference rooms. My room was small, but I'm not gonna complain since I'm only here for a few days. The view was terrible. All I could see was the top of the roof. I would have been a little upset head. I've been paying for it out of my own pocket, but since it was paid for by my company, I didn't really mind it too much. The bathroom was small and the toilet is located awkwardly close to the shower. It is impossible to open the door of the shower and the bathroom at the same time. Inside the room, it was clean when I arrived and they had complementary water bottles waiting for me. They also had a coffee maker that you can make single cups of coffee in and a miniature refrigerator. Not many drawers to unpack your belongings so you would have to make use of the closet . Overall, I will give it a four out of five. For a brand like the Gaylord I would have expected a little bit better.

Yelp
The Gaylord Texan in Dallas is basically an adult amusement park disguised as a hotel. You could actually live here if your dream home includes a mall, five restaurants, a wine bar, a riverwalk, and a life-sized Alamo replica all within walking distance of your lobby. Let's talk about the rooms. They're outdated but I'll call them nostalgic to be nice. Think early 2000s faux-Tuscan meets your aunt's guest room. But who needs modern design when you've got personality, right? And the real kicker are the fireplaces in the lobby. Nothing says luxury quite like elbowing a dozen strangers for a spot near a flickering gas flame next to the Christmas cactus display. It's giving Vegas-meets-suburban-Texas-meets-theme-park-for-corporate-retreats. I kind of love it.

Yelp
I stayed here for the Get Your Teach On Conference, and overall, it was a great experience! When we arrived, we were told that check-in lines were long due to the 6,500 conference attendees--and they weren't kidding. The lines were wrapped around the corner. Thankfully, a kind young lady helped us check in online, so we were able to grab dinner while waiting. About an hour later, our rooms were ready. The service throughout our stay was spectacular. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The resort itself is massive and absolutely beautiful. My room was kept spotless the entire time, and the gentleman who helped with my bags was amazing--super friendly and helpful. We even ran into him the next day, and he surprised us with ice pops because of the heat. That small gesture meant a lot! The only downside--and something that many guests commented on--is that there were no microwaves in the rooms. There was only one shared microwave, located in the Marketplace, and the line was always long, especially with so many educators on-site. It made warming up food a hassle. Aside from that, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely love to bring my children back for a fun family getaway!

Yelp
Amazing and beautiful hotel! The hotel was hands down amazing and an experience like no other! The hotel was very maintained and the staff was very knowledgeable and professional. There was so many things to do and see. You can shop, spa, dinner, and a Waterpark all in one day. The rooms were very well kept up and re stocked as needed. Great hotel for a family trip to just get away.

Yelp
Gaylord Texan Resort is its own city. Literally any and everything you need is here under this one dome. Variety of dining options, swim park and indoor pool, bar, games, entertainment and I'm sure more I didn't get a chance to experience. Think the tv show "Dallas". The decor is very cattle ranch, hill country feel. You are definitely transported to somewhere different and they do a good job of carrying the theme throughout. Great for families, excellent conferences or even a staycation. I recommend the balcony room so you can watch the nightly light show.

Yelp
Whelp, we decided to take a midweek post-holiday vacation, and celebrate our anniversary. The Elf on ICE! and room seemed like a good idea on paper. Pro-tip. DO NOT BOOK A HOTEL THE NIGHT BEFORE THE COTTON BOWL. That's on me. usually things are quiet between Christmas and New Years. The Gaylord Texan Resort was not the case. Check in took longer than anticipated. Again, Bowl attendees. Even with the Marriott Bon Voy App, still had to check in, in person. The line for the check in desk was like waiting for the "Jungle Cruise" at Disneyland. Perhaps having extra people at the desk during the posted check in time (4pm) could help. This place is FRIGGIN' HUGE. Thankfully they give you a map to your room. The room was... it's your standard mid-level two queen bed hotel room. Nothing that gives it a WOW!!! Two beds, nightstand, chair, small desk. A TV that took up half the wall. The mini fridge in the closet was unexpected. Really the only thing I did like about the room was the shower. Big enough for two, if that's how you roll. I did like the massage function after sitting in traffic for 3 hours. Massive kudos to the staff and the decorating folks. Holy crap that's a lot of lights. I'd really like to know where I can buy the lighting curtain, it would make decorating at home simpler. Now, a word about restaurants. Me figuring there's at least 3-4 restaurants on site, food shouldn't be an issue. Until they close one restaurant for their kitchen to support a private party. I presume the Miami Hurricane fans and/or team. That rules out the Italian food. Ok, there's others to choose from. Looked at their steakhouse menu.... $65 for an 8 oz Ribeye? Ummmm.... Not just no, but HELLS NO. Ok, ok... there's a Mexican place. Let's try there. The Riverwalk Cantina. In all my years of living in Texas I haven't seen a Mexican buffet. That is until last night. The food was sad and warmed over. Enchiladas where the tortilla was crunchy from sitting under a heat lamp. The flavors were ... lacking for spice. Minnesotans would think, "That's not spicy, Tex-Mex is supposed to be spicy." That was a fast $100 for two people. It was meh. Parking. Just pay the $50 for the valet, let them deal with it. Otherwise it's $25 for you to find your own spot, and walk back to the hotel. Bring bread crumbs if you choose that. Now, Elf on ICE! It was cute. Everything leading to it and from it are 'extra.' They do have a bar INSIDE the show, but you can't take your drink with you. Which leaves me puzzled. You want me to drop $15 for a water down cocktail, and I have to stand in a room set at 9°F. NOPE. Others have said that it takes 30 minutes to walk through, and it does. And everything else (Sledding, carousel, 'snowball fight') are extra. Oh and the Elf store, where everything was 50% off. Was still overpriced. Will I come back? Not by choice. If I want to walk through an Ice Sculpture Garden, I'll go to the St. Paul Winter Carnival in Minnesota. At least there, I can sit down to enjoy my drink. Lastly, It would have been helpful for Marriott to shoot an email stating ANYTHING about the Cotton Bowl and guests. I would have adjusted my stay accordingly. It's the bland beige of beige.

Yelp
We are at the Sports Bar on 11/23/25. I got the fish tacos. I was expecting a nice portion of fish on fresh tortillas but instead got something that looked like 2 French fries on a tasteless tortilla. The food was horrible and very over priced. Other members of my family said the same about their orders . It was a very disappointing experience. We would never go back .

Yelp
I have never stayed at the resort but have come here twice for their ICE! Christmas experience, specifically, the ice sculptures and snow tubing. They lend warm, blue parkas for you to wear while in the ice exhibit. I felt that during this second time I went, while it was impressive to see all the details in the colored ice sculptures, I didn't spend much time there before walking out. It's only something I would do again if I was bringing a tourist or someone new in the area. Snow tubing is sooo fun and you can do this activity as much as you want the whole day! They tell you the instructions every time you go up the hill. Once the traffic light turns green, that's when the operators indicate for you to slide down. I think we went up and down around 15 times before we were exhausted. You actually slide down quite far and the tube turns a lot so make sure to hold on to your belongings! It's very exhilarating and I highly recommend it! You cannot film/use your phone while riding on the tubes but you can have other people filming or taking pictures of you. There are people checking tickets at each attraction. If you buy tickets during non-peak hours, AKA morning, then you'll find the best deal. You will have to pay for parking in addition to tickets for each attraction you go to. Though, fortunately for us, the gate was not working and the attendant allowed us to exit the garage for free. Visiting Gaylord is a wonderful activity for the holidays!

Yelp
This place is absolutely lovely. I love the atrium area. The plants and water is so soothing. The restaurants here are also amazing. The food is delicious and everyone is so kind. I had a day at the spa there and fell in love with the staff and amenities. If I could make anything change, it would be the constant music. Sometimes it's okay to have no music. Also in my room, there was a smoke alarm light blinking all night long. Didn't love that. However, this won't keep me from going back. Just wish there were more moments where no music played at all.

Yelp
This place is amazing! My friends and I booked a suite and couldn't believe the service got! All of us were able to post, like, and share on our socials! We even had more friends meet us at Glass Cactus where we danced the night away. What lovely staff and hotel. Bring us back!!

Yelp
very beautiful atmosphere but so not worth the price. didn't get not one goodnight sleep all weekend.consistent nose from staff doing work at all our moving tables, chairs and using tools. way overly priced outlets and restaurants most of the time you couldn't even get a set at the restaurants or they were closed. pools were cold not heated as state. no hot tubes and can't hardly get into the spa which is also overly priced. food was good but still not worth the prices. beds and pillows sub-par at best. And you better like star bucks coffee cause you're not getting another kind on the grounds. Worse weekend get away ever. Very disappointing

Yelp
Staff members are disrespectful, rude even the parking and security are not helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful.

Yelp
I stayed here for a work conference and I was shocked at the enormous size of this hotel and all the features indoors. You truly don't need to leave they have thought of everything, but it's almost like your stuck? The resort is a bit away from the rest of the city which makes eating out a little bit harder. The resort itself has an enormous atrium with all different monuments to Texas which was the best part. The room is underwhelming for the price they charge and had very basic amenities. The gym was solid but not large enough for the number of rooms they had. Overall it feels older and bit like it's been left alone for a long time.

Yelp
Beautiful and awesome interior and outdoor grounds. Surprise to see low ratings. We throughly enjoyed ourselves at the Gaylord Texan. Quality does come st a price. This is definitely a spurge type of resort. Good place to shoot the wad.

Yelp
Very nice set up indoor. Outdoor swimming pool chair are falling apart. Indoor pool nothing special. The outdoor water slides were closed. The restaurants staff were excellent but the food was disappointing. Our room off the main atrium so I was happy with the location. The food....oh my, was a 3/5 and that's being generous. I do hear that Christmas time is very popular and fun.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about seeing the ice sculpture show. The show itself was great unbelievable ice sculptures. The temperature is 10° f and they provide parkas for all viewers. I HIGHLY RECOMEND BRINGING GLOVES. Now for the reason for the Maybe. The show and Resort is designed designed for the young and healthy if you are elderly and need to sit down relatively often while you're walking they have no repeat no seating anywhere that I traveled. Inadvertently not knowing the layout we parked at the front entrance, the show was at the very other end of the facility. I walked through the show without an opportunity to sit down. Approximately three quarters to a mile. A elderly gentleman was given a seat at the entrance by a caring staff member who went into some back area and brought out a chair I was standing talking to him and she was nice enough to bring me one also though im only 84 I wase greatful. The only other seating that I saw was when we exited at the closest point to the show. They had two benches where the buses pull up about 200ft apart.

Yelp
Had a four night stay in the Vineyard Tower in March and it was great! Tried all the restaurants within the resort, worked out at the gym, used the jogging trail they mapped out, and had four restful nights. This resort was HUGE! It was in the middle of an AEA convention so it was quite busy. My room was on the 9th floor so I didn't hear any noise throughout the night. The room was equipped with a mini fridge, coffee maker, free water, and a great view of the sunrise every morning. I ate at the Texan Station (short rib tacos and steak and frites), Old Hickory Steakhouse (octopus and lobster mac and cheese), Zeppole (Frutti Di Mare), and Riverwalk Cantina primary for breakfast (breakfast tacos, omelette, eggs Benedict). I enjoyed all my meals with the exception of the steak frites (steak was overcooked). Their gym is pretty big with lots of equipment and quite busy in the morning. There are two pools, an outdoor pool with a hot tub and an indoor pool that closes at 8 PM. There's also a spa on premises for massages and hair treatments. There's also a waterpark that is a part of the hotel (although not connected) that was closed for the season. I believe your stay includes admission when the season is open. You can also find a few stores such as a market (where a microwave can be found), toy store, souvenir store, and other knick knacks.

Yelp
Came here for a night to see the ICE exhibit. The entire hotel and exhibit was awesome and beautiful. My reason for 4 stars is when we arrived at almost 4 PM our room was not ready and my In-laws room was ready. When going to their room to wait for our room to be ready we see the housekeepers gallivanting and making themselves coffee in the rooms they're supposed to be cleaning for guests. We didn't actually get our room until almost 7 pm. Overall a good experience and would most likely return

Yelp
In and out stunk. Went there for a company Christmas party, took 1.5 hours to enter and when we got to the convention center parking it was full. Instead of getting in another line of cars to find another spot, we went to find some food elsewhere. I've been there, it's nice, but they need better parking and access to the lots.

Yelp
What a great experience! We stay here for a conference. Our room was clean. Housekeeping cleans the rooms daily. The gym and spa are spectacular. Nice restaurants and bars. They have bikes that you can take for a ride to the river our downtown. We did not use the pools but they look nice and clean. One afternoon we went to the Paradise Springs water park and enjoyed it. Big shout out to Jenny in check in, she was AMAZING, profesional, and went above and beyond to assist. We will be back next year, I can't wait

Yelp
Wanted to share my experience from this past weekend. As someone visiting from out of town, I really loved the atmosphere and all the activities available. Unfortunately, I did have a negative experience later that night around 11 PM. My boyfriend and I ordered one drink at the Silver Bar. After finishing it, we went back for a second round. The bartender (Hispanic woman) refused to serve me, saying I was "too intoxicated." I was shocked and confused because I had only had one drink the entire night. We were planning to enjoy a second drink and then head downtown afterward. She told us she couldn't serve me, so we went to the restaurant next door. The same bartender actually ran over to inform the manager not to serve me as well. The manager on duty (black female) then said my boyfriend and I were cut off for the rest of the night. I genuinely didn't understand why this happened, especially since we were both completely fine. I didn't appreciate the way the situation was handled, especially as a first-time visitor. I wasn't trying to make a scene or ruin my trip, so we decided to leave and ended up having a great time at other bars in the city. I hope management sees this review and looks into the situation, because it truly felt unfair and uncalled for. I have proof that I only had one drink. This was my first time at this hotel, and it could have been a much better experience.

Yelp
We stayed here for one night on our last night in town and had a wonderful experience. We started out our stay with a couples massage at the Relache Spa. Shelby at the desk and Blanca the locker room attendant were very welcoming and Magdalena the therapist was amazing. Magdalena was so kind and was very attentive and did an amazing massage and hair/scalp treatment for me. The spa amenities were great and we lingered to enjoy the steam room and showers after our massage. Our room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. The walk from the parking garage wasn't bad at all and it was nice that they had covered parking. We don't get a chance to use either of the pools but the outdoor pool looked amazing. Susanna at the Marketplace was super sweet. She was very friendly and provided quick service. The coffee and pastries there were a nice afternoon treat. We had dinner at Old Hickory and had mentioned in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. Elesio made sure we were well taken care of and was very friendly and very kind. He even brought us complimentary glasses of champagne at the end of our meal and wished us a happy anniversary. When we opened our to-go dessert there was a special note included by the kitchen staff wishing us a happy anniversary. We had brunch at the Riverwalk Cantina after we checked out and despite it being busy we only waited a short time and were seated promptly. Jennifer was very kind and attentive despite being very busy. Austin in Security and Cindy in Cocoa Bean were also instrumental in making our stay so special. Special thanks to them for all their hard work. We hope to be back the next time we are in town!

Everything about the Gaylord Texas is Five Diamonds . Most of all in a world of security concerns , FACT , the security team at Gaylord Texas is ELITE . One of the greatest aspects of the Gaylord Texan is unseen . It is unseen yet it is always there , it is at a level of professionalism defying the imagination . I would like to extend a heartfelt emotion of gratitude and feeling of being grateful unto the ghost like security operators at Gaylord Texas . Yelp
Out here to support my friends daughter performing at the attached venue glass cactus. For those that haven't been here during the holidays,it's worth a trip at least once. Today was packed with families from far and wide taking in the holidays. They organized many shows and activities to keep you going and several restaurants to fuel you. Worth checking out.

Yelp
This hotel is run by Marriott, so yay -- points! This is a big property, but was disappointed to see that it was not as big (or bigger) than the Opryland location (which apparently is the largest). Considering it is the Texas venue and there appeared to be ample land in the area, I figured this location could have ricaled Nashville. Pool amenities are outdoors and a bit of a ways away from the main hotel. There is an indoor pool in the spa but no water slides. They seem to automatically charge 18% gratuity at the restaurants. Although pricey, we love the Gaylord hotels we have stayed in and would definitely come back to celebrate Christmas at this one. PRO PARENT TIP: Go during the holiday season -- typically starts right before Thanksgiving and goes until NYE. The Christmas decorations are gorgeous! PRO PARENT TIP: They open ICE and the Christmas Village amenities up 1 hr early for hotel guests.

Yelp
I stayed at the Gaylord Texan for a work conference. Before booking, I didn't really know anything about the Gaylord brand except hearing the name "Gaylord Palms" (their location in Florida). After doing a little research, I discovered that this was a comprehensive resort, convention center, and somewhat of a destination in the DFW area. Like most of my hotel reviews, I'm going to break this down into pros and cons, so here we go! Let's start with the pros. Gaylord is a brand that's owned by Marriott, so you're able to manage your stay through the Bonvoy app and collect points if you're a member. This made it easy for me to check in/check out and explore the amenities. Gaylord itself has its own separate app which contains a resort map and a list of amenities as well. I would call location a plus here - the resort is located in Grapevine, and even though you're not in Dallas proper it's a 30-minute drive away and only about 15 minutes from the airport. I also heard that Grapevine itself has a main commercial street with shops and restaurants, but I didn't explore them. Aesthetics are also a plus here - the main resort area is housed under a large skylight which bring a lot of natural light in and gives the feeling you're outdoors. There's also a lot of eye candy in terms of decor, accents, areas of the main lobby, and Texas aesthetics. Amenities are another pro; the resort has multiple shops, restaurants, bars, walking/running trails, as well as a spa, nightclub, business center, and waterpark (all in addition to the namesake convention center). The resort caters to both people who are here for vacation *and* those who are here for work. For cons, I have to say location again since this may not be the ideal place to stay if you want to spend the majority of your time in Dallas. I know if I was visiting DFW for pleasure, I would rather stay downtown. The aesthetics outside of the main lobby area are tired and dated - the resort opened in 2004, and the convention area and rooms definitely give off that early 2000s look. The hallways and rooms especially could use some freshening up. The walls are also thin - I was able to hear conversation and the TV in the rooms adjacent to me. I also think some quality control needs to happen in the rooms - my safe had a low battery warning which made me hesitant to store anything in there. To close out, I need to give kudos to the staff. Everyone at the resort was super friendly and really enhanced my stay. Overall, I'm pretty lukewarm when it comes to the Gaylord Texan; they were great hosts, have a lot of amenities, and you can really just stay on property the entire time and be entertained. I don't think I would stay here on my own if visiting DFW, but I wouldn't be disappointed to attend another conference here.

Yelp
Enjoyed my time at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. Shoutout to Devin at check-in and Wonnie at ICE for answering all my questions and providing great service! Be prepared to wait in line for check-in but it moves quickly. The ICE exhibit was a lot of fun with the kids and make sure the kids wear layers!

Yelp
They definitely wowed us!!!! I couldn't go 10 stars because they don't offer it. My reservation was accurate down allergies family... pillows were foam ... We always double triple check. Luckily we travel with EpiPens in case of a mistake. I reached out to Dylan on the management side of things to explain the reason for visit... wife birthday weekend and we brought the kids... He and his team set up chocolate covered bacon and cake & gummy bears as we checked into our room and I got bonus points from the wife! She definitely felt special. I am very pleased with the decision to stay here. From the check in with a nice staff down front. We felt valued and the hospitality was super top notch! All team members should be commended!!!! The cleaning crew was awesome they greeted us as we walked by and were very generous. They serviced our room so very lightning fast... Super nice to our daughters as well. The stay was peaceful and vibrant Every time we entered our room! The bathroom was legit...the double sink and mirror had a luxurious feel... I will look to stay with them again if the price is right. We got a great special. (booked early) I feel that it was a great value! Thank you Marriott for the hospitality. They even had multiple things for us to do. Get steps in walking the property. Popcorn and lemonade and kids movie in the designated area. Arcade, outdoor pool, indoor pool, paradise springs. The Mexican restaurant. The sports bar... I could keep going. This place has a price... But the convenience is way worth it in my perspective. I didn't have to worry about getting in the car and taking a journey.... It was all right here for us. We will have you on first check for the next stay when we return to the area. Respectfully, A very pleased Bonvoy Member (if anyone READs these) Bryan Yukon, Oklahoma Will add more photos

Yelp
So first of all the website is very confusing. The pictures look lovely and very enticing but it's all glitter and lies. Do you know you have to pay for parking?? You have to pay to park at a hotel resort that charges over $300 a night. Why does anyone have to pay for parking at a hotel they are staying at??? Also they are charging you as I stated over $300 a night to sleep in a bed that you'll only be in for a few hours if you're going to be partying or enjoying amenities. The customer service is good but not much customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! Do not waste your time or money.

Yelp
We attended the Christmas Village, which is always a hit! We love the Christmas spirit and the execution of ICE! Some activities get pricey and it's a bummer since they added Lexus sleigh and RV sales to the experience.

Yelp
Our family has made Christmas at the Gaylord Texan an annual tradition for 6 years! This year was a fantastic experience including ICE: The Grinch. We stayed overnight and enjoyed a meal at the Cantina Riverwalk as well. The decorations are spectacular, and the overall feeling really kicks off the holiday for the family! The staff is exceptionally friendly, the service is helpful, and the rooms are comfortable with great views of the indoor atrium.

Yelp
GRAPEVINE, TX / RESORTS / 07-02-23 / MINI-VACATION +The family suite is nice! +The kiddos loved the water park. +The resort pool was alright. -The resort tries to nickel and dime you for their 4th of July fireworks viewing on top of the parking garage. -$10 to rent a chair, $85 to rent a table, $14 for 2 cans of Pepsi and a small bag of chips? -They didn't email me my invoice upon check-out, so I couldn't check to see if everything looked right.

Yelp
The website offered a discounted package for teachers. It gave a code to use in order to receive the discount. The website said that a room without the package (that includes ICE tickets) started at $199. The package started at $259/night. We clicked on the $259 package, but, didn't see the ICE Exhibit listed on the invoice. So, we called the 800 number, and kept being put on hold(for nearly 2 hours) and finally were hung up on. We called back, and were told that we needed to specifically speak to the front desk. So, we did that. The person at the front desk looked at the website and the code and said that we were purchasing the correct thing and that the tickets would be sent in a separate email closer to the date. The tickets were never sent, so, I called back, and was told that even though we paid the $259 plus fees that equaled $328, that we didn't purchase a package. They said that the rates change all the time, and that the $259 was only the room. They are refusing to send the tickets for the ICE exhibit. I explained that we had called to make sure we were purchasing the package before we clicked the final payment button, and the fact that the tickets didn't get included was a problem on their end. They are refusing to honor the package offered on their website. This is false advertising and dishonest business. They are not trustworthy.
