Gecko Cabane Restaurant

The dining experience at this restaurant was truly exceptional! Frederick, the owner, was warm and welcoming, taking the time to thoughtfully explain each dish we ordered. When we requested something with max spice, he graciously offered to customize a dish not even on the menu. The result—Prawns in Chou Chee Curry was absolutely spectacular. I’d go so far as to say it was the best curry I’ve had in either India or Thailand. The Pad Thai and Tiger Prawns in Tamarind Sauce were equally impressive, and the desserts provided a perfect sweet conclusion to an outstanding meal.

The lamb shank was delicious and the blending of Thai and French ingredients was amazing. The recommended wine was a treat and the after dinner espresso hit the spot. I would recommend this for anyone near by, solid choice.

Pretty disappointing after seeing the review and even if I didn’t see them the food disappointed me. We had a tiger prawn and a fried rice dishes. The fried rice lacked flavor and I would even go as far as saying it was tasteless and didn’t even felt fried .. it felt like it was mixed with vegetables at most. The tiger prawns were better but honestly, for the price (400 Baht) it wasn’t close to being worth it. Other then the food, the atmosphere at this place is very nice and different from other Thai places. The waiter is a really nice French guy who obviously speaks perfect English so that was nice.. I wish they had nice food too.

French- Thai food. Special dishes: massaman lamb and crab omelette. To taste!! Dinners time better for temperature. Enjoy!

A really nice surprise in the center of Krabi! Amazing service in a family owned restaurant with a great atmosphere. All the food was really tasty and prepared with care. The snails were amazing, including the pasta options and fish. The cherry on the cake was the Belgian beer!

This restaurant is a gem! The food was fantastic—I enjoyed a soul-warming dish and a perfect dessert—but the real highlight was the exceptional service. After a year of traveling across Southeast Asia, this was the first time I felt so welcomed and cared for. The staff’s kindness and attention to detail made the experience unforgettable. The place is also spotless, cozy, and incredibly comfortable. This was hands down the best service I’ve experienced during my travels. Highly recommended!
