We had daily breakfast organized here by our hotel in La Fortuna and it was a lovely experience. Thank you Scott & Charlie for the delicious breakfast and fresh juice. The ingredients tasted fresh and portions were perfect. The owners are very sweet and kind and made my friend a refreshing tonic/soda when she wasn’t feeling well. The dogs are also so cute and it’s a lovely atmosphere with a great view. Thanks for everything!

Breakfast daily here provided by our Arenal Lodge. Food was very good. Local cuisine! Appropriate serving size. Speciality pancakes and French Toast for granddaughter with yogurt smoothies. Added enjoyment—-dog rescue so lots of babies to love on. Nice gift shop with local items not commercial Scott and Charlie —great hosts A must stop next trip to Costa Rica!!!!

Awesome food. Server was attentive and so kind. My son spilled his smoothie and was brought another without us mentioning it. There is a dog rescue behind the restaurant where they have saved 60+ dogs currently. This was an added perk for my son (a dog lover). My daughter is scared of dogs, so the owner made sure she knew none would come into the restaurant. Very kind! He gave my son a keychain from the rescue as we left. Eating here is not only great food but supports a great cause.

This place is awesome! The owner, Scott, accommodated us despite a huge group taking up most of the space there. The drinks were great (sangria!) and food was simple but delicious. The views are awesome! We saw a toucan in the trees outside the restaurant! There is also a dog rescue behind the restaurant, you can see the dogs (and go in the back to meet some of them if you’re lucky) and donate to the rescue!

The cooking class at Geckos at the Waterfall was one of the highlights of our time in Costa Rica. My fiancé and I had an incredible experience learning to prepare mojitos, guacamole, ceviche, empanadas, and banana flambé with ice cream. Scott, the owner, was exceptionally knowledgeable and made the class both engaging and enjoyable. The class takes place on the top floor of the restaurant with a stunning view. Scott also does amazing rescue work. While we were there, he was fostering a litter of puppies found abandoned on the side of the road and helped them find families. It’s a memorable experience we’ll cherish forever. Beyond the cooking class, the restaurant also offers fantastic food!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Traditional Empanadas and Ceviche cooking class with Chef Scott at Gecko's Gourmet restaurant.    Scott and his staff were excellent hosts and we were pleasantly surprised with all the bonuses that came with the class.  First, you need something to drink with the empanadas and ceviche so we were taught how to make mohijtos the Costa Rica way.   We then were given great instructions by Chef Scott to make and cook our empanadas and ceviche.   The food we cooked was fantastic and we were given additional drinks like Sangria or native juices to go with our meal.   Finally, we were also taught how to cook a flanbay banana dessert dish with ice cream and native chocolate to polish off our meal.    Highly recommend this class if you want to make your own excellent meal with guidance from a nice person who also cares about rescuing the local stray dogs of La Fortuna.    Thanks again Scott!

This place is unreal - we watched the view change 3 times whilst we were sat there for lunch, you’re above the clouds and whether rain or shine it’s incredible. The owner is really friendly and everything is so fresh. The iced coffees were the best I’ve ever had, I only regret not having gone sooner, and they also rescue dogs!!! Would definitely say it’s the best place anywhere walking distance from the waterfalls- make the trip!

What a fantastic restaurant! I had my dog Bodhi with me, so they seated us on the second floor patio where we could see their amazing on-site dog rescue. I had a delicious burger and hot french fries, and they brought Bodhi a big bowl of fresh water. Such kind people, great food, and a wonderful cause!!
