We love Geechie Seafood! They always have great prices and one of only a couple of places to get fresh head on shrimp. They are always friendly and the products are always fresh!

Google
Five stars for the service, and the shrimp. I bought crabcakes it too but I advise anyone else to take a pass on those. 90% breading and filler. Tasted more like a potato cake. But, if you're looking for shrimp this is definitely the place to go, super fresh and delicious!

I found this little Hidden Gem searching for seafood prior to my departure from Charleston back to North Carolina! I must say the reviews are not wrong this was some of the best shrimp I have had in a long time!!! Large shrimp for $13 a pound are you kidding me? What a bargain! So needless to say I have now found my new fresh shrimp spot! Thank you Geechie Seafood keep up the good work❤️

We had bought fish and shrimp here 3 years ago. Today I was disappointed. The look and feel of this location implies local. Beware. The lump crab we bought was frozen and from California. One pound was dark with an unpleasant smell. I’ll look for an alternative, local vendor.

These shrimp? Baby, they come straight off the boat, still drippin’ saltwater and sass. Ain’t nothin’ frozen, ain’t nothin’ fancy—just fresh as a summer storm and ready for the boil. You grab a sack, throw on some spice, and call up the neighbors. That’s how we do it ‘round here.

Delicious local seafood staffed by super friendly folks. They support first responders and military with 10% discount. Best seafood shop on Shem Creek. FYSA you have to drive thru a neighborhood to get to the store.

If you are looking for fresh catch seafood, this is the place to go. We bought Mahi Mahi steak and grill it. It's so fresh and tender juicy. It's the best Mahi Mahi for my life.

If you need shrimp they got it!!! Crab meat too! Oh and crab cakes. And…just go and find out for yourself. It’s great!

Yelp
Our favorite spot to grab raw shrimp from! They have lots of options and are helpful explaining. The parking is super easy and the prices are reasonable. Feels extra authentic with it being right on the docks and you'll see lots of pelicans munching on discards.

Yelp
Arrived at 5:30 after work on 1/14. Hours say they are open til 6pm - which we know from previous purchases. made eye contact with employee and tried to enter the front door. They looked at me and got in their car and drove off. Again, hours say they are open till 6pm. Would have taken less than 2 minutes to grab a few pounds of shrimp and pay. We will be going to Crosby from here on out

Yelp
Looking for lunch found out about this side of Mt. Pleasant. Neat area with some restaurants by the water and a board walk one side. Walking along that path saw the sign (on the other side) for fresh fish and shrimp. Curious got in the car and figured out how to get there with no name to work with? Leaving a restaurant made three right hand turns and bam found it. Park on the right hand side of the gravel rd. and walk up the rest of the way. The first covered area has fish offered this day and watched as fish was being fillet for customers. The second area has huge coolers with large shrimp head on and off as well as frozen containers of crab meat. I bought two lbs. head off at twelve dollars a lb.. At this time shrimp are from Florida the season for the Carolinas has not started yet. Fresh frozen/thawed are wild not frozen. Looking forward to cooking them tomorrow.

Yelp
I love going to the boats to get seafood. We always enjoy fresh vs frozen from the store. Good service. Rustic atmosphere.

Yelp
The best fresh seafood ever!!! 8 dollars a pound for fresh medium shrimp. You can't beat it.

Yelp
You would think since there is a literal shrimp boat right behind them, that this would be fresh shrimp. Boy, was I wrong. Brought the shrimp. Tried to peel them an hour later and they were all stuck to the shells, slimy and smelled. They obviously sold us old shrimp that was left over. Feel free to go to Mt. Pleasant seafood because we went there a couple days before and the shrimp were amazing. Don't waste your time or money. Both places are the same price. 14/lb for old shrimp.

Yelp
This is SUCH a cool spot to buy your fresh seafood. I felt like i was in some S. Carolina coastal movie about fisherman and the waterways. Ideally situated on Shem Creek, next to a place called Saltwater Cowboys that is the exact opposite of Geechee and screams " Vegas Trash." Geechee is a reminder of 'the good ol days'- simple, polite, understated. Perfect place to get fresh seafood and reasonably priced. Plus, they have kids working- yes really working- here. Polite, informed, look you in the eyes kind of hard workers.

Yelp
Excellent spot to get fresh shrimp right off the boat!! Staff is super friendly and polite Sizes and prices differ a bit from day to day, so you may want to call ahead to see what is available.

Yelp
Love their shrimp! Get them right off of the shrimp boats! Very fresh. Where the locals get their shrimp!

Yelp
It was beyond irritating to get home with my 2 lbs. of LARGE shrimp to discover that in fact only half of the shrimp were large. The other half were small and medium. So not only was it a rip off, it is impossible to cook shrimp properly when they are such different sizes. Unbelievable that they can't bother to sort the shrimp properly when it is the only thing they sell. I will no longer be buying my shrimp there.

Robert S.

Yelp
PLEASE! The only way this place could get more than one star is when it is reviewed by friends and family. I've purchased their shrimp a number of times now and you never get what you pay for. Buy large shrimp get medium and small. Purchase medium shrimp get 90% small, 10% medium. Go to Crosby's on Folly Island - you see what you get right from a see thru refrigerated case, not from a tub at Geechies. At Geechies , you only see what you've gotten when you get home! Its a rip off!!!

Yelp
I come to Charleston fairly often to visit family. I like to cook them a nice meal while I am there. I discovered Geechi Seafood after asking some of the locals where to buy fresh shrimp. I have bought shrimp from them several times. There are always fresh, top quality, and reasonably priced.

Xiaodong L.

Yelp
I went there to buy seafood as it was ranked high in google. They only sell shrimp in winter. Luckily shrimps are sizable and very fresh.
