Geiranger Camping

The location is good, there's a river where it meets the fjord. There's also a grocery store nearby. However, this camp site is very busy. There's one road hundreds of people use (walking and driving). For a very huge campsite, more toilets and shower rooms should be added. Imagine waiting for a lot of time for a 5- minute shower (you have to pay to have a hot shower), anf they're not so clean all the time. Lastly, there's not a lot of electrical cord, so either you have to go very early or not have a power supply.

You can't get a better location. Some shops, bars in walking distance. Nice pitches with grass in-between. Good facilities but could be stretched in the summer, we were May. Showers only accessible with a credit card and not that hot or powerful, you may need 2 goes if you have long hair to wash. Access to the waterfalls/ views up hill, need good shoes and fitness. The roads in are an experience in themselves! Watch your brakes, they get hot. All in all, a great experience all round.

Had a caravan pit near the river. Wonderful feeling cool breeze and relaxing sound of water flow. Services are excellent clean bathrooms and dishwashing place.

The location at the bottom of the Geiranger Fjord is quite excellent. But the facilities are old and not up to reasonable expectations in 2025 - especially not for the price. There is not even an electric kettle in the kitchen and most of the gas burners did not function. Also, the WIFI is not reliable. Finally, there are too few toilets and showers. There are other, better and newer sites in the area.

This campsite is over crowded but that is the least unfavourable part of this place. Firstly you pay over 300 NOK for a basic tent pitching spot with car without electricity and on top of that you have to pay 14 NOK for a mere 5 minutes shower, which might I add is absolutely terrible. The water pressure is ridiculously bad and the water temperature is either extremely hot or cold. Is it worth 14 NOK?? Absolutely NOT! I don’t understand why we have to pay for shower separately in the first place. This campsite caters to a few hundred campers per night and they have just 3 showers available making campers queue for a long time just for a 5 minute useless shower. I have stayed at campsites that charge much lesser per night for tent pitching and have way better and cleaner facilities and I don’t have to pay extra to shower. Seriously!!! This campsite is a JOKE!! Don’t bother coming here unless you want to squeeze with others campers and have useless and insufficient facilities.

Massive camping area, but way too few toilets and showers for the number of people. The staff is very helpful and busy, but that doesn’t compensate for the insufficient facilities.

Very nice camping, view is great. Price was about €30 per night. Good to stay for a few days.

Nice camping, walk diatance from the pier for the fjord tours, supermarket and village shops. Camping well structured and open to late check in (21:00)
