Gelateria Il Porticciolo

I have never said this about any gelato place I’ve been to in Italy but this is probably the WORST one yet. Nothing to do with the service. The gelato itself tasted bland. So bland the two flavors I got(tiramisu and chocolate cream nut) just melded together like milk! There is no strong taste like you would find in other gelateria. AVOID this place!!!

My kids are addicted to gelato… in our trip to Italy we must have went to 20+ gelaterias…They all agree this was the best. My wife thinks the pistachio gelato is the most intense flavor of pistachio ever.

small gelateria in a great location, right by the water. the owner gave me the smallest scoop and it cost €5. tasted good but seemed really overpriced 🥲

Delicious icecream for a very reasonable price. We tried raspberry and hazelnut, both delicious. We also had the affogato which was great. Would definitely recommend it!

The BEST Gelato on our entire 3 week Italian adventures!! And boy did we try a lot!! You MUST try the Cinnamon Flavor. We’ve never had this flavor anywhere else- and the both the texture and flavor profile are absolutely 100% perfection!!! I had 1/2Cinnamon and 1/2chocolate in my cup and wish I had gone back for more cinnamon! The owner is so nice and was fantastic managing the lines of people! Beautiful location right along the waters of Vernazza!

This place should be avoided because the owner is rude and does not care about the customers. He made us feel like we were bothering him. The ice cream is mid, overpriced and there is not a lot of choice. If I ask how many flavors can I choose for the small cup, and a staff member says 2, it’s not fair nor transparent to make me pay at checkout the price of a medium cup because of the second flavor. All of this was topped by the rude attitude of the owner which made us feel like we were scamming him. There are better ice cream shops in Vernazza, do not go here. Tourists bring money to your city, if you don’t want them because they bother you and cannot interact with other humans, the most logical thing to do is close your shop.

One of the best gellato of dozens we tried in our ten day trip to Italy. The owner seems like a craftsman of great depth of knowledge, craft and character. I wish I had time to get to know him. The toasted coconut and passion fruit were surprisingly delicious. But if you like anise / black licorice, try the gelato. I was astonished how well it came out. The owner imports the root extract from Umbria directly and it is his personal favorite.

WARNING TO ALL ASIAN TOURIST!! this gelateria is a ripoff. Ordered and paid for medium cup but got a small cup only! Only noticed after finished my cup and throw it back in the bin inside the gelateria that mine is the same as most other smaller cups in the bin... AVOID THIS GELATERIA!!! There are two others Gelatiera with better review not that far away!!!
