Gelateria La Romana

The best, the greatest, the tastiest, the most generous gelato I ever had!!!! How could I ever eat an ice cream after that. They melt chocolate at the bottom to appraciate the cone even more!!! I need to have that in Paris. Please!!!!

The best gelato in town! The staff was quick and friendly even when the line was long and it was already late. A big variety of interesting options and also some cakes and small desserts in the fridge for anyone who doesn’t want ice cream. The whipped cream on top was also very tasty!

Terrible experience – avoid this place! On June 27th, my bag was stolen while I was having ice cream in this almost empty café. I had briefly walked to the fridge to pick a dessert, and when I returned, my bag was gone. I clearly remember 3–4 suspicious people walking in with bags and leaving without buying anything. The security camera was pointing exactly at my table, but when I asked the male staff to check it, he coldly refused and said it was “not allowed.” He didn’t care at all. The female staff member was at least kind enough to help call the police. But the police in San Giovanni were just as useless – they didn’t take me seriously and even made sarcastic remarks. If the cameras are not used during a theft, what are they even for? I will never return to Italy again. Stay away from this café – no security, no help, no responsibility.

Best gelato I’ve indulged in, mega generous portions and good value and quality. Obsessed with the molten chocolate and whip cream options, and the staff are kind enough to suggest flavor combinations and advise on choices. Will be back for the mug desserts!

The best gelato in Rome! There will likely be a line, but they work fast and efficiently. They had several vegan friendly options for those with dietary restrictions, and the portions were great! We got two cones and a medium cup for 11€. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Very delicious ice cream and reasonable prices! The place is clean and spatious and offers different types of beverages and crepes.

An amazing gelato experience! Velvety and thick with a multitude of flavours to satisfy any palate. One of the few places in Rome where one can find a table to enjoy your gelato as well. The service was friendly and the server explained to us, in English, what some of the flavours were. La Romana has a few other branches in Rome but since this was away from the popular tourist spots it was a bit less crowded.

One of my favorite ice cream in the city! For more than 3 years I’m going to Romana and it is always delicious 🤤 This is a new location for me and it’s very nice and quiet. They have new flavor which became my favorite: Salted Caramel. Super cool 😎
