Well, when in Melbourne st.. chances are that when crowds consistently line up out the door and they have crowd control... it'll be good! Despite being full from dinner, the opportunity to find out what was so good was too hard to resist! Ice cream too hard to resist! Particularly loved the seasonal specials! Well worth lining up and waiting for! Can be a challenge to get a seat, so be prepared to eat as you stroll to your next stop.

Tiramisu (my go-to) 8.5/10 Pandan coconut (pandan lover must try!) 8/10 - Taste so rich - Milk 🤍 Taste better than the Messina in Hong Kong. Love the atmosphere. Nice to have after dinner near South Bank or the city. Friendly staff. There is usually a queue around 9-10pm just before they close.

I had heard it’s really popular and always has a line, so I decided to check it out! Since it’s just gelato, even though there was a line, the wait wasn’t too long.👍 There were so many flavors that I couldn’t decide for a while. The staff seemed a bit unfriendly, but I guess it’s understandable since they were super busy.😅 I chose their specialties, Voicemail and Tiramisu. ❤️They were really tasty! I’ll definitely go again!🫶

Real good stuff. Maybe 4.5/5 Their weekly special Cinco de Mayo had these churro bits that were just... strange. Highly recommend their Pear and Rhubab. Will come again to try more stuff, quality of the Gelato itself is quite nice. Some stuff might be kinda polarizing (too sweet, too much of something). But if you really like a flavor; you might find the best of that here.

Google
Their gelato is truly incredible, with rich flavors being the absolute highlight. However, the atmosphere is average; seating is very limited, making it a quick stop. Staff are efficient but transactional.

Gelato: 5/5! Authentic and perfectly creamy and all the flavours were spot on! The hokey pokey and choc fondant, wow! Service: 5/5! Kind and patient even with kids and no stress when we could not decide in a while what we were gonna order even though we had a bunch of people beyond us! Will miss this place when back in Sweden!

Pretty good ice cream shop inner Brisbane. I tried hazelnut and choc fondant and I found both really tasty and not too sweet. My friend tried pistachios and it was awesome !!

There’s something special about this place. I don’t usually go out of my way for ice cream. I’m not even someone who craves it often. But every time I pass by Gelato Messina in South Bank, I find myself walking in and ordering two scoops. The flavors are creative, rich, and somehow comforting. It’s not just dessert . it’s a little moment of joy. And I love that their gelato doesn’t leave me feeling heavy or thirsty afterwards. If you want to experience gelato that leaves a lasting impression, this is the place.

Yelp
Put it on your bucket list and go! Delish!! I have nothing more to say except go early to avoid the out the door crowd.

Yelp
The gelato is delicious and this location has high ceilings and a polished vibe that make the whole experience feel decidedly high-end. Chocolate made in-house is a definite selling point, and they do a side trade in cakes that look like works of art (and are also priced like works of art). Service at the counter is efficient, but note they are so popular there will likely be a line out the door when you visit-- and on a hot summer day, just outside the front door feels like the hottest ten square meters of sidewalk in all of Brisbane. The handful of tables at the other edge of the sidewalk were noticeably more pleasant than the line itself!

Yelp
OMG, if you want a Gelato, go here! There were so many amazing flavors to try. Our group all went for the 2 scoop cups and at the price point seemed really good value. Now onto the flavors. I had the Bounty, which tased just like a Bounty bar, chocolate, coconut delicious. But the hero of my cup was the Hokey Pokey, then honey and crunch in that gelato was amazing. One in our part had a raspberry sorbet as part of their mix and raved about the authentic flavor of it. The service on a Sunday was a bit slow as there was only 1 person behind the counter for the first few minutes of our wait, but the flavor and texture of the gelato was so worth the wait that I'd gladly wait even a bit longer to get it. The shop itself was cute inside, but we got ours to go. The people on the street eating outside were pleasant, so all in.... GO HERE FOR A COOL REFRESHING DELICIOUS DESSERT!

Yelp
Australia does gelato right, and it doesn't take more than a minute or two to realize that Messina has what is likely the strongest gelato brand in the country. Cheeky marketing and smooth interior aside, Messina delivers on the product front, but they fall just short of my favorite gelato in Australia RivaReno. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? I'll kick off this review by saying that I strolled into Gelato Messina on a Saturday afternoon exactly a day before the series finale of Game of Thrones aired. With that in mind, imagine my pure glee at seeing that Messina had a whole swath of thrones special flavors ranging from The Red Wedding (Red Velvet) to Dothrocky Road. It was glorious, and the flavors alone were drawing in crowds. From there the interior was genuinely gorgeous, and the service was fast and friendly. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? My two quite large scoops of gelato ran me only $6.80 AUD, which, thanks to a very favorable USD exchange rate as of May 2019 was a steal at $4.69 USD. Great value. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? My caramel and cookies and cream flavors were good, with generous chunks of cookie and a smoother caramel consistency that was dense on flavor. Great consistency. Two Stars. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? So here's the thing. I was very impressed by Messina, but having since visited RivaReno, I have to admit that I prefer the latter, and thus can't go five stars here. No Star.

Yelp
My favorite gelato place, hands down. Their unique flavors and method of mixing in other sweets is classy and refreshing. My go-to flavors are tiramisu (with espresso soaked ladyfingers mixed into the mascarpone gelato) and chocolate chip, but I loved their temporary unique flavor called "Mr Potato Head" which consisted of peanut butter gelato with white chocolate covered potato chips. Sounds unsavoury to some but it was delicious! So creamy. $4/mini, $4.4/one scoop, $6.8/two scoops, $8.8 three scoops if I remember correctly. They also serve milkshakes and thickshakes for around $8 and sell a variety of also-unique cakes. Also the employees are friendly and pretty patient with letting you taste test a dozen flavours before you decide what you want.. every time.. not that I've done it myself of course, just watched it in action. Please open up a location in the United States!!

Yelp
Got the triple scoop here on a waffle cone! Coffee, tiramisu, and cookies & cream were the flavors! Great choices and very pleased with how it tasted! About $9 AUD for the triple scoop and totally worth it. See why it had a long line even after 9 PM

Yelp
We are absolutely delighted that Gelato has opened a store in Brisbane. The range of flavours is extensive so it was very hard to choose. The staff are quick to offer you samples (we liked all the flavours that we tried) and they are very generous with the serving sizes when you finally make your selection. This is a great option for an after dinner treat!

Yelp
They haven't gone small on their first Brisbane shop, opening a substantial and gleefully modern establishment with a characteristically wide range of gelato flavors. It can get fairly crowded at peak times, but if you go in early you'll be fine. I sampled one of their special flavors, and they were all delicious, but the highlight remains their intriguingly different mint (one that that always offer you to try before you buy as it is not what you've probably had elsewhere). It's a fresh mint kind of taste. They had an extra large cone for the three scoop extravaganza as well. There are a lot of opportunities to stop in, seeing as how this stretch is between West End and Cultural Center and is being built up. I think it'll do alright.

Yelp
Wow!!! Better than Good. It was not hard to find as the que went onto the footpath. It looks seriously professional. The choice of ice creams, gelato etc. was broad with many exotic offerings as well as the traditional vanilla. You can sample before making your mind up but none that I tried was average. The Fam loved it from walking up, queuing to selection and the best part - eating and sharing. Quality was AAA+++.

Yelp
Stopped by after visiting Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. This was some of the best gelato I've enjoyed in a long time. It was absolutely fantastic. Tried three flavors, the hokey pokey and it was amazing. The salted caramel and mango salsa was unique and sinful. The absolute today favorite and to die for and almost orgasmic was the Sudachi Japanese Cheesecake. This was one of the best gelato flavors outside of Italy. Phillipe was amazing and exceptional at allowing us to try most or all flavors. Please stop by and try his sinful variety of outstanding gelato's.

Yelp
Awesome flavor on hand. Handcrafted fresh gelato with thoughtful flavor selection. Very original and exclusive flavors which change frequently. Pricing was on point $8.00 AUS for 3 scoops of gelato. Very attractive and we'll appointment store front.

Yelp
THE. BEST. GELATO. EVER. I drool over Gelato Messina from thousands of miles away in America. Their specials are always changing and are always to die for. The flavors they always have are also amazing--the apple pie is my favorite. Chunks of goodness in the gelato! Amazing value for the price. Make sure to get a cone with your cup of gelato.

Yelp
The quality and service are incredible. I have blood sugar issues and I'm always surprised by the total lack of issues having this ice cream. It's apparently all the natural ingredients and high quality lower sugar recipes that keeps the blood sugar levels stable The staff are incredibly nice and I eat an ice cream here daily

Yelp
Super cool place. Amazing Gelato. My favorite. The vibe is so cool and the set up is amazing. You won't be disappointed.
