We visited as a group of six and waited 30 minutes for a table — this was totally acceptable to us as we didn’t have a reservation, and the place was quite full. The staff were friendly, but once we were seated, the experience took a turn for the worse.
We waited at our table for 50 minutes and even went to the bar three times to ask if we could place our order directly there instead of waiting for table service. Each time, we were told, "We'll be right there." By the time someone came to take our order, we were informed the kitchen had already closed, so we could only order drinks. We couldn’t believe it.
If the place had still been very busy when they finally came to take our order, we might have understood, but by then, it had practically emptied out. There was also no genuine apology or any complimentary snacks to make up for the long wait.
We’ve never experienced anything like this before, and it was very disappointing. The one star is really only for the pastry we managed to get and the coffee, which was good.
