General quarters is a rare breed; a small shop with a curated selection and (wait for it) an owner/staff that really seem to care about their customers!
Every time I come in I end up leaving with nothing but incense or soap, but they carry all of my favorite brands: Imogene + willie, rogue territory, apolis, and their own house brand, which is above and beyond most stores' crap-quality garments with their name plastered across the front.
The vibe is vintage-yet-modern; think HBT work shirts, sturdy chinos, and raw denim, with some grooming products thrown in. If you shop at self edge, blue in green, RRL, etc. you'll find something to like. This is not throwback miner gear, it's the quality of old with contemporary flair.
The best part of the shop, and the aspect that seals the deal for me, is that all I've ever bought are small (but delicious-smelling) items from GQ. And yet, not once was I made to feel like I was wasting the staff's time. Blair, who I believe is the owner, is the nicest guy, and came off as extremely genuine. He reminds me a bit of a less self-effacing Paul Rudd. In this day and age, I can buy almost anything I want from the comfort of my computer chair, so when I spend the extra time and money to shop in person, I'll be doing it at places like general quarters.
