The room was clean. However, the bathroom is even smaller than portable toilets. It is hard to stay there and I can't even brush my teeth as the sink is blocked by the mirror stand. I wouldn't stay more than one day. I would stay again if i need to stay one night, as the price is cheap and it is close to the train station. I was woken up and told that I had to check out even though I booked a late check out. Yet everyone can make mistakes, so I can't complain there. The employees are nice and friendly even though they have to deal with very strange people due to the location of the hostel. After all, train stations are often the most dangerous areas of any city in Europe. I think they are doing their best. I also worked in the service industry, and when stressed, I wouldn't be as nice as they are.

Decent stay for an affordable price and right next to the Hamburg Main train station. The elevators are not optimal. Toilets do not have soap for washing hands, which is a bit tricky considering how many others touch the door handles. Because of the location, it is difficult to avoid noise in summer with windows opened. Even though a fan was provided ventilation for the whole room is not efficient in warm summer days.

I stayed for three nights. One of the worst hostels I’ve been in. The rooms don’t have a good design. No privacy. Low quality furniture. They don’t offer sheets, just the mattress and a quilt. The bathroom is so tiny that I would say is unusable. The sink is not suitable to wash your teeth. Plus there are students living there full time, as students apartments are scarce. Avoid the breakfast for 9€, it’s better deal to eat in the street. At least it was very cheap to be honest

Stayed for 2 nights recently with a large group. Overall a great location and reasonably priced. Breakfast was satisfactory. You can tell the place gets lots of use. A few broken things in our room, but we didn't mind. Bathrooms are incredibly small and made completely out of plastic. Felt like a bathroom out of an RV. Staff was great and very helpful. Only complaint was that there were always unsupervised children running around the halls and hanging out in the lobby. It gave the place a strange feeling. Come to find out this is being used as refugee housing. Kids as young as 5 or 6 years old roaming the hallways and making all sorts of noise at 10pm. I spoke to the staff and they were very helpful and put an end to it.

Hello! So I was solo travelling in Hamburg and I stayed in Generator Hamburg for 3 nights (Sat - Mon) and in the female dorms for about 125 euros total. Here's my honest review: Pros: - The location is very prime and city central. You'll find the shopping streets, museums, bars, restaurants, the lake, tourist buses, etc. all within walking distance. - The location is right next to the Hamburg Central Station hence it's very convenient to travel from the hostel. - The rooms were clean when and fresh blanket + pillow was provided. - Room service everyday. - There is a bar, food, drinks (coffees) and breakfast available here. - They also have locker services. - Very friendly staff and overall good environment! I met some lovely ladies in the dorms who were also solo travelling and we had some good conversations. Considerations: - Bring your own lock for the small storage provided. - The bathrooms are extremely SMALL! I'm 5ft but I (just like the rest) struggled with using the bathrooms. Did we manage? Yes. Did we hate it? Absolutely! Just to give you a perspective, you will not be able to even spread your elbows. - A few shandy people roam around the hostel, but to be honest, just ignore them. It never bothered my experience at the hostel at all.

The bed was incredibly hard to sleep on, the bunks sounded a lot as soon as anyone moved and even though the room was full, more people came in with cards in the middle of the night and shone flashlights at us while we tried to sleep, then left. Also incredibly warm and no ventilation with 8 people.

I had a 1 night stay at the hostel. I needed somewhere closer to the Train station, so it worked for me. Internet was pretty fast. Need fast food, there are lots of restaurants around. I love the way the walls were decorated. Super! Since I was on a quick and short business travel, I did most of my work by the lounge on the first floor, just behind the “chill out” wall. I stayed in the 4 person 2 bunk bedroom on the 7th floor. I love the view from the room, just facing the train station. From the room, I was far away from the street noise. The bathroom was as small as that of an airplane, and you need to pay to have a towel. I find that awkward - I needed to bend under the shower in the bathroom. The main reason I am giving it a 4 star. I realized there was breakfast for 9 euros, so I went for it. It was not disappointing. More of a reasonable buffet kind of breakfast. Summarily, if you need a quick place to stay by the Hamburg Central Station, this is recommended, but if you will stay long, I’d recommend an alternative - it was too costly for the value it delivered.

This hostel was surprisingly great. The bathroom is in the rooms which is very convenient, the beds are already made and it's much calmer than you would expect right next to the train station. I would 100% recommend.
