Chinggis Khan National Museum Mongolia

Very well done museum. The history and artefact’s shown were very impressive, along with the display. The writing is mostly in Mongolian but most artefact displays have English and many QR codes to scan for English information on history. Highly recommend!

Amazing! 9 floors of history. The exhibits and educational features are extremely well done. Provides wonderful understanding of Mongolia's history and culture from pre bronze age up to modern era.

IMHO best museum in Mongolia, I strongly recommend to visit! I was genuinely impressed. It’s a modern, beautifully designed museum that combines advanced technology with deep historical storytelling. The collection of exhibits is outstanding — each hall gives a clear and fascinating picture of Mongolia’s past and its cultural heritage. The golden statue of Chinggis Khaan is truly magnificent, and the golden diadem of Bilge Khan from the ancient Turkic period was one of the highlights for me. The museum feels fresh, inspiring, and respectful to history at the same time. Definitely a must-visit place for anyone interested in Mongolian and Central Asian history.

Only a 4-star because basically all of the exhibits and displays were in the Mongolian language only… I get it, we are in Mongolia. But c’mon! Very cool range of things to see from the Mongol imperial era including a harp, coins, clothing, bows and arrows, and of course a lot of art. The prize is the golden Genghis Khan statute on the top floor. Well worth the money.

The museum is new, exposition is nice and organised well. What I didn't like is that 99% of the information is represented in Mongolian language exclusively. I mean, 90%+ of visitors are tourists from other countries, yet you give almost 0 information on English (or any other) language. Only floor & exhibit names are on English, all the rest is only available in Mongolian. This makes the visit boring and not informative. Honestly I liked the old National Museum much more even though it's way smaller.

A multi-story museum that is easy to navigate and beautiful. My favorite part was the simulation room on the top floor, which we are now starting to see more often in museums, but the images there could have been a little longer, more varied, and more epic. Also, there is very little English throughout the museum. If this were improved, we could at least understand what we are seeing better.

Building is new. You can pay by card or cash at desk. 95% text are not in English. There is possibility to even qr code and get info in English. It was nice visit. Enjoy it.
