Visited for food and drink only. It was our first visit and we were impressed by the attentive and friendly staff. The pub is nicely presented in a traditional coaching inn style, was lovely and clean. The menu was comprehensive with a good range of options. The food chosen was all very well presented and good quality, we all enjoyed our chosen options. I thought the food and drink were slightly overpriced, but apart from that, I would recommend.

Lovely place to stop for a pint and meal. We love it. The staff was friendly and the food was very tasty. I would recommend it to my family and friends

The room was freezing! The heating only came on for a couple of hours. The room was ok comfy bedding, not worth £175 though. The shower made a squealing noise and the bath tap dripped all night. Breakfast alright (beans were cold). The staff at the bar and restaurant were commendable.

George and Dragon Clifton is a great place to stay! The friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and perfect location make it an excellent choice. The breakfasts are amazing, but the highlight for me was definitely the restaurant. The dishes are absolutely delicious. Every meal was a delight! My entire stay was very enjoyable, and I highly recommend it!

Really positioned whether you are heading north or south on the M6. Room was large clean and comfortable. Good value for money with friendly staff who made us very welcome. The staff really made the stay. ||Dinner and breakfast were delicious, particularly breakfast. ||Our room had the kitchen extractor fan outside it, but it really didn’t disturb our night at all. What we did have was a very large, really comfortable bed.

Had a really nice meal with my partner for our third anniversary. We had the oysters, Scotch Egg and the Halibut. tasted great, amazing service and lovely venue, will definitely be back!

First time back since the refurbishment and we were not disappointed. The room was really lovely, the staff superb and the food really excellent. Nice touches with details of dog walks in the room too. Will be back next year

Excellent food in a pleasant environment. However, I wish they didn't add a service charge to the bill (which can be deducted), instead leaving it to the diner's discretion to add should they wish. This is a practice that I strongly dislike - as do most other people who I have talked to about this.
