Great little place. The exhibition is spread all over the space creating an all encompassing environment. It's also interactive. Great dioramas, a nice collection that represents both ocean and land dynamics of the parklands. Worth a visit. This place is special.

Small but so well done. Most of the diaromas have hidden features to delight young and old. They also host Ranger programs with a touch tank.

Loved it. Would have enjoyed going to school here, appreciate the way all different disciplines are incorporated. I do want to know why wasn't 'museum diorama maker' or 'museum taxidermy specialist' on my career list when I was looking at colleges?

Google
Awesome museum! Bigger than it let's on a lot of specimens to see. What made it most interesting was the fact that the animals were taxidermied by students! 20/10 reccomend

This is a wonderful museum! It may be small but they have put a lot of work into the exhibits! Our kids age 11,10,9,8 and 8 months loved it! They enjoyed seeing the animals and the skeletons! The adults in our group especially enjoyed learning new facts about the animals in this region! We would absolutely recommend going if you are near the Bar Harbor area! It is free but the ask for donations. It is a worthy cause!

Wonderful little museum. My 5 year old daughter loved it, and so did I. Small but packed with a lot of interesting stuff. We spent a good hour here on a rainy late October afternoon while visiting Acadia National Park.

Compact, informative nature museum just minutes from central Bar Harbor. Pay as you wish donation admission. Hosts the excellent Touch Tank Talk family program led by an Acadia Park ranger. Great for kids of all ages. Highly recommended.

Great Museum! Free will donation. All exhibits are made by College of the Atlantic's very talented students. The tide pool touch tank is great. Rangers know what they are talking about.

Yelp
This museum is very small but has so much to offer. Very well documented and maintained by the College of the Atlantic students. Never knew that taxidermy could be a college course. Loved that it was quiet even on a Saturday. The pool of sea creatures was a highlight for us, as we didn't find too much when we went tide pooling. Very fun and interactive. Also enjoyed the art on display by current students, and for sale! Worth a stop, also has a small shop with books and stuffies, etc. Entry is free so be sure to leave a generous donation!

Yelp
This was such a great spot to visit with the kids! So much to learn about the animals in the area AND they have a touch tank. Admissions is free but they take donations. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
The touch tank was the perfect activity for a rainy day. Led by two Park rangers who clearly enjoy their jobs, we learned a lot, and my kids got to hold a sea star and a sea snail.

Yelp
Excellent little museum! We stopped by the Dorr Museum one dark rainy afternoon in November when it was already dark at 4 PM. We knew we only had an hour till the 5 PM closing but it was the perfect amount of time. The Dorr Museum educator was very welcoming and really wonderful with my kids (ages 9 and 14). We had the place to ourselves and spent a great deal of time exploring the touch tank and learning about the inhabitants of local tide pools. The museum is full of well done dioramas of local wildlife which I was told were done as Senior projects by the college's students. The museum has done a great job combining old collections (trays of old pinned insects to explore) with these new exhibits. Definitely worth an hour stop on a trip to Bar Harbor.
