George House Heritage Bed and Breakfast

While traveling through Newfoundland, I came across this incredibly charming and historic B&B. As soon as I arrived in town, I could see what set it apart from others I stayed at. It sat majestically at the top of the hill, at the end of its long driveway. Not knowing much about the history, I stopped at the end and read the plaque outlining its origins. You can tell a bit about an accommodation's character by its guests, and the George House Heritage B&B is no different. As I drove up the driveway and parked, 4 guests were sitting, perched at the outdoor firepit, and warmly greeted me with snacks and drinks. The owner came out, and before I even checked in, we had spent hours laughing and talking. Once inside, the detailed attention to the house and the warm atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. My room was perfectly appointed in the period pieces of the house's history. For breakfast, Todd provided homemade pastries, as well as eggs, yogurt, and fresh fruit. The next time I pass through Dildo, this is the only place I will stay!! Thanks for your warm hospitality, Todd!

We only stayed one night but it was a fantastic stay. Tod the owner met us when we arrived and showed us to our room. In the morning we declined breakfast because we wanted to make an early start to the day. Today made us home made muffins for the road . Great accommodations,great host.

We really enjoyed our stay! The room was phenomenal, the house has a spectacular view (including of the Dildo sign) and is very charming. It has a lot of small details which we thought were awesome. ||||It’s walking distance to Dildo Brewery. We walked down for some live music and drinks after being recommended by the host. ||||We got the jacuzzi room which was perfect, we both said we’d like to make it an annual trip for sure. ||||The host was very kind and attentive, he was sure to let us know we were welcome and offered us anything we needed.

This beautifully decorated Victorian century home was outstanding when it comes to cleanliness along with a superior setting. A real classy B&B accommodations that we have ever experienced. Todd was an outstanding host, Always with a gentle smile he treated us like family taking care of our wants and needs. Early morning coffee to wake us up and a great selection of breakfast delights started our day off just right. With 4 rooms in a beautiful setting we had the pleasure to meet other travellers who were also impressed. ||Location is ideally located for day trips in all directions in this part of the Avalon peninsula. We stayed 4 nights before heading back home and would most definitely recommend Todd’s best kept secret.

We stayed here for six nights while exploring the area. It was a great spot for a home base. Todd was a wonderful host. He catered the breakfast to better suit my diabetes and looked after getting a birthday cake for my husband's birthday while we were there.||||Our room was very nice and a wonderful view of the harbour. There is a TV in the room with various viewing channels and streaming services. There is a sitting room on the main floor, and a fridge available for anything you might need to store while there.||||Lots of seating outside in front and behind the house. You can find a spot to enjoy.||||He also has a cookbook of his recipes available!!

Stayed here for two nights. Very comfortable accommodation and a wonderful filling continental breakfast! Todd was an extremely accommodating host. Bought a couple of Todd’s cookbooks for souvenirs and gifts. Would definitely stay here again. Just a couple minutes walk to Dildo brewery restaurant!

Todd was a fantastic host! Loved the old house with great decor. Pretty location with a view of the bay. Fresh baked muffins every morning. Totally recommend!

Our second time staying here and it didn’t disappoint. If you like heritage homes full of antiques, look no further; the large modern bathrooms are an added bonus (including a rubber ducky)! Todd is the consummate host always making sure you have everything you need for your stay. Breakfasts were delicious and the dining room so comfortable, it was hard to get up and on with the day. His croissants are the best! The Dildo Brewery just down the hill is a great place to walk to for dinner.||||Dildo is a lovely little village on the Baccalieu Trail and if you’re going there; stay at George House Heritage B&B!
