A fabulous pub in a lovely country setting can only be bettered by one that has superb, friendly staff and scrummy food - this it, look no further! Three choices of Sunday roast were had by us - chicken, pork belly & the trio of meats including beef. All served with huge yorkshires, roast parsnips, carrots & potatoes & accompanied by the most decadent, flavoursome & glossy gravy 😋 2 puddings were had, a sticky toffee & the days special of a caramel & whisky sponge - both served with vanilla ice cream. The stars of the meal were clearly the gravy & the sticky toffee pudding. Very attentive & everyone friendly staff. This is clearly a pub that sells out its covers, so it's highly recommended to book.

We held our wedding reception at The George Inn and it was absolutely perfect. The food was excellent, the service faultless, and the whole set-up was magical. The team went the extra mile to give us the perfect day and handled all the unpredictable events behind the scenes so we didn’t have to worry. We couldn’t have asked for more – truly an amazing experience.

The George in Finchdean is a fantastic countryside pub, perfectly situated opposite a peaceful sheep field. After enjoying a lovely walk around the charming village of Finchdean, it was the ideal spot to stop off for a pint and a bite to eat. The setting is idyllic, the food was great, and the service was warm and welcoming. I’d highly recommend this gem to anyone exploring the area.

Absolutely fantastic, frequented this establishment for the first time with my girlfriend for a Sunday roast, oh my!! The food is sublime, I had the Mackerel and pesto on toast and she had hummus for starter and both had Roast lamb for mains. Everything was perfect and simply a taste sensation, it’s not the cheapest but you certainly get what you pay for here and that is quality. My only small gripe is I’d like a gravy boat so I can decide how much of that delicious red wine gravy I can put on my dinner, you see I’m a child at heart and like to fill my Yorkshire pud like a swimming pool. But seriously 10/10, your staff are top line to, friendly, attentive and polite.

What an absolutely gorgeous pub! Starting from the wonderfully warm greeting from the staff, who were welcoming and incredibly attentive. The food served was beautifully presented and very tasty. The bar has a very good selection of beer, wines, and spirits, and the staff were very knowledgeable about the beers they were serving. Sadly, I was the duty driver, so I stuck to orange juice and lemonade... but I will be back soon and will definitely try a grown-up drink!! I loved the fact that the George is so very dog friendly, and they have a dog menu, too! Thanks to everyone for their help to make the memorial for my brother in law such a wonderful experience. I'll see you soon.

Belly pork was the best I've ever had. Gorgeous. Some in our party had the burgers, which didn't quite hit the same heights. Atmosphere and staff were delightful.

A very nice pub run by Ben & the team in a pretty village. Food and service very good. Outside areas make a great place to sit out in the summer while the traditional interior with log fire make it equally good in the wintertime.

Came here for a Sunday roast as we have always been satisfied. After lunch, I went to speak to a member of staff about booking for all my family to come for a Sunday roast to celebrate my son’s birthday which was booked and written down in front of me. (Over a month in advance) Closer to the time I called to ask if there was any more tables available to add some friends on to our dinner on the Sunday coming. To which they told me I didn’t have a booking and would never of booked that far in advance or for 20 people. I was never told this which led me to panic as I booked this way in advance had all the family coming in two days time for my sons birthday!! Absolutely disgusting, when I physically went in and booked this not over the phone it was done face to face. I was in complete shock and panic. I spoke to another member of staff and explained this is not my fault please can you accommodate us as I’ve booked way in advance (I thought) and I have people coming. Simple answer NO. They wasn’t willing to help, no apology or sympathy on this situation. Which was not my fault! DO NOT BOOK AT THIS PUB YOU MAY NOT HAVE A TABLE or EVENT BOOKED!! If I didn’t call 2 days before I would have turned up with birthday cake and family to be turned away! Terrible customer Service!

Popped in on a quiet Monday night in December.Lovely cozy,traditional English pub.Craft beers and imports available.Polite service and a menu which wants you to come back and try something different.Haddock and chips either mushy peas were very good indeed,as was the cod and a risotto.Can only imagine this place bursting at the seams during the warmer months.There is a designated dining area but we chose to be in bar.Fireplace was welcome on a cool evening.Lovely spot.

marked 'pricey', never used to be lovely bar-menu chilli bowl & garlic bread! BUT was £4.95 last year and great VFM, however not so now. Shame
