"The portion of George Mitchell Nature Persevere accessible by the Flintridge Trail Head is two miles of looping nature trails and three miles of bike trails. Nestled deep in The Woodlands, it only takes a few feet of being in the trail to feel totally removed from the suburbs. The trails are unobtrusively marked and since the dense pathways are built basically in a loop, getting lost in mediation is easier then losing your way." - A Civil Fox

Love the trails here. Been going here for about a year now pretty consistently and it’s close to my house and pretty convenient. The trails are nice and typically pretty well kept up with. Weekdays aren’t too busy during the day but the weekends gets pretty crowded there sometimes. Still a great walking/hiking trail though.

Google
Woodlands city so horrible . Why in the world construction going already 3 months? Lack of planning. Entrance to the park also developed a curb now. So it is difficult to enter without damaging low clearance car

Google
This is part of a nature conservancy. They have many miles of trails and access to popular swimming spots on the Creek. There is an app-- travelstorys that will narrate points of interest along some of the trails. The far Eastern portion of the Spring creek trail wasn't maintained the closer I got to I-45. It turned into a bushwack so I didn't gonall the way to I-45. Going West is all cleared and maintained trails for tens of miles if you are feeling up to it.

I love this park. Always a wonderful experience. The bedias lake is pretty and homes big gar. When the lake isn’t flooded there is a little sandy beach area to relax on as well, with woods all around. You can’t hear the road noise when you get into the woods. It feels so secluded and relaxing. Great walking park. Parking varies and so does the busyness. Spots to fill with water when it rains.

Google
Great biking, walking hiking trails. Parking was easy. Trails were well maintained and well marked. Wide enough to accommodate two way traffic without any problems. No problem with our fat tire bike on the majority of the trail. There are a few ruts and roots a one area to cross that requires some extra precautions. Shady, but little breeze.

Yelp
A really nice place to go hiking with your furry friend! You have some loop roads so it's family friendly.

Yelp
This is a great place to experience nature at no cost. Inside the preserve there multiple loops to walk or run and a trail to bike. You will find lakes and streams throughout. Mind your ps and qs when you're near the small lakes because we have encountered an alligator. It was 4-6 feet long so not too big but not one you want to stumble upon. The trails here connect to longer trails with signs and colored ribbons along the way to help you keep track for the directions you have traveled. These longer trails are great for distance running and even in the summer heat, don't seem that bad. Admittedly, I enjoy hot weather so you may not agree with how hot it is during the summer. The locals do a great job of maintaining the area so please help by only leaving your footprints behind when visiting.

Yelp
Be respectful when walking on trails. There are some bike only trails. But overall it's a beautiful place. Only thing is parking can difficult only days were it's busy but parking on the side of the road is fine

Yelp
This is one of the best maintained trails I have had the pleasure of hiking in Texas. I loved the hike but it is really best for biking. There were mile markers with very detailed information and a Q code to scan and check your location. It was my first time in Texas and I was hiking alone. So those markers were Super helpful and well thought out. Had a very relaxing walk, me being the only person for the first 3 miles. Didn't come across any other hikers. After that, came across a bunch of other hikers and bikers. Felt pretty safe throughout.

Yelp
Great place to bike or hike while working in Houston! Shaded by trees so you can go even mid day during the summer months.

Yelp
Quiet. Peaceful. Trails are easy to walk (minus the mud spots after a rain). Not as scenic as I prefer but it's the woods so it is what it is. Found some spots near a small pond that were picturesque. A police on a 4-wheeler rode by me on the trail which made me feel safer... and saw other solo walkers as well, mostly with a canine companions. The trail leads into other trails if you want to make a longer trek but I opted not to get lost. There's so many off shoots from one trail to another so could be easy to lose your way. Overall nice peaceful Sunday walk/hike but not my favorite park compared to other more scenic parks I've visited around Houston.

Yelp
This is my Great Uncle's Nature Preserve I enjoy immensely! Chirping birds, ponds, and tree lined trails with informative plaques on each species. It's truly a magical place to feel in tune with nature. I'm proudly related to this amazing man who so greatly benefitted Texas, it's residents and still continues to this day through his foundation to be a generous philanthropist. Love ya, uncle George!

Yelp
This is my favorite place to run. Hot, cold, rain, drought....it's a unique experience every time. The flooding a few months ago really wreaked havoc on the trails. I was relieved to see that not only had the damage been repaired, the trails have been slightly widened and grated. Whether you are looking for a place to exercise, a place to explore or some where to unwind, you should check out George Mitchell Nature Preserve. There is something very spiritual about walking through the woods.

Yelp
What a beautiful way to spend a day! The George Mitchell Nature Preserve has several different paths and ponds. Some paths are labeled for biking, which is nice for safety purposes (not worried about hitting peds and vice versa). There are lots of little creeks and brooks, but surprisingly it wasn't buggy at all. I can't wait to go back and explore some more. Maybe we'll bring a picnic next time :) Warning: parking can be a little tight, try to get there early.

Yelp
I learned about the preserve about 2 years ago, my mother in law from out of state mentioned she wanted to go there. Since then I've been back about 15 or so time. I really liked that the tree's canopy blocked the sun and sometimes there's a nice breeze. It's a easy walk of about 3 miles but there is apparently a longer trail which I haven't tried yet. On a nice day there are about 10 cars in the parking area. Side note use bug spray especially in the summer when the mosquitoes are out in full force. Have fun!

Yelp
Our hiking group, Houston Area Trails & More, hiked 11 miles of the George Mitchell Nature Preserve on a beautiful spring Saturday. The George Mitchell Nature Preserve is part of the Spring Creek Greenway. This trail was a nice getaway from the city. It was quiet and you're surrounded by greenery to hide any evidence of being in the city. Surprisingly, we didn't see many views of the creek itself from the trails. The flora was mildly interesting. There were ripe red and blackberries growing close to the ground that some members of the hiking group picked and ate. The tree cover was dense in some spots. We didn't encounter any wildlife other than faraway birds chirping. Trails were well-marked by fancy trailheads and orange paint on the tree roots or tree trunks. There was no bush-whacking and I didn't leave with any scrapes on my legs. I wore Asics running shoes and felt comfortable throughout. Most of the trails were on soft dirt. Occasionally you walk on short stretches of sand. Obstacles on the trails include tree trunks or creek crossings that happened to be dry or low enough to walk through. Sometimes the trails are out-and-back (a.k.a. lead to a dead end). We encountered very few people on this trail; there were maybe about 15 walkers and 5 mountain bikers throughout our stint there from 11:15 am to 3:45 pm. There were no drinking water fountains or restrooms inside the preserve. We parked off 6055 Creekside Forest Dr near the Elementary School and Pavilion. There are restrooms in the Pavilion. A trailhead mentioned on the official website is the Flintridge Drive Trailhead located at 5171 Flintridge Drive on the east side of the Preserve. Yelp
I was so surprised to not see many more reviews for this place. This is a little hidden treasure in The Woodlands. This amazing nature preserve has walking and biking trails and even a beautiful lake. If you are into nature then you are sure to love this place. I can't think of a better place to get away from the city and just relax in nature while exploring the wilderness. The parking is a little small but not many people are usually there at one time in this little amazing hideaway. It is a great place to breathe some fresh air, experience nature at its finest and spend a good time exercising with your significant other, family or friends. Don't get lost though, its pretty big. They are currently doing some new entrances that will connect it from Goslin road and the Creekside YMCA. It is kind of sad because they are having to tear down some of the place to build these but I guess it will make it more accessible for more people to enjoy. If you like nature, you definitely won;t regret your visit to this place!

Yelp
Nice place. Not a lot of parking in the Flintridge lot so sometimes we go to the Creekside lot...always parking there but currently there's work being done. There are always fallen trees that they have to move. No bathrooms or water, just FYI. Really nice trail to run, comfortable ground. My dog likes it here also. Lots of shade. Can be a short walk or you can get a good 10 miles out of it depending on how you go. Don't go after a lot of rain. Takes awhile to drain and is muddy in random places.

Yelp
As a regular of some of the more well-known trail-biking parks around the Greater Houston area, I was kind of surprised that I hadn't read more reviews for this place and the huge MTB society that lives & breathes here. I haven't ridden as much as I'd like to because of other responsibilities in my life right now, but my son has actually grown to a good size where I can now bring him along with him to some of the more "fun" trails. Well, yesterday we went out to a trail park off of 1960 and close to the Humble area, but when we got there and found that all three trails were made of blacktop, we rode as fast as we could back to our vehicle so we could go someplace else to enjoy our nature rides. I had heard about this from someone in the GHORBA forum about two years ago, but never got around to coming over to look for it. My son and I jumped at the chance to come by yesterday and see what we could find, and this place did not disappoint. Granted, we got lost towards the back end of the trail because the more "technical" trails are not as easily marked as some of the others and we could ourselves off to the side of Gosling Road, but for the most part, we had a great time and a great day of exercise. I'm not going to give a more details review because we haven't really ride along most of the trails that this place has to offer, but I will say that what part we did ride, was definitely a great single-track ride for someone who is ready to take on a great trip through the woods, and is willing to take on a trail that will definitely test your endurance. You're not going to fly past every tree down these trails, but with the winding and weaving that come with this park, you are sure to have some fun.....but be sure you try and keep your north about you or at least keep your GPS handy with you or you WILL find yourself lost in this beautifully, amazing wood-maze just down the street from the hustle & bustle of The Woodlands!

Yelp
I love walking with my dogs in this nature preserve. The multiple trails are nice and easy to walk on most of the time. My only complaint is that the trails get really muddy after it rains. The trails seem to have a hard time draining and the mud attracts all kinds of bugs. Therefore, I recommend this nature preserve when it hasn't rained, especially during mosquito season.

Yelp
As a older runner, I love running on trails that are not too steep, especially downhill. Old knees hurt. This trail was AWESOME! It was basically flat but lots of twists and turns with pine needles and sandy dirt soil make for a great run for the body. I recommend doing the "fitness trail loop" (1.5miles) as a warm-up then do the 3 mile bike loop. Anyone coming to Houston area should consider staying near GMNP.

Yelp
A beautiful trail with lots of shade so was relatively cool even with July's late morning sun beating down. Was my first visit and the map and trail markings weren't as clear as some I have seen, but I will be back.

Yelp
This place is a hidden treasure! I lived in the woodlands for 18 years and moved back about 6 years ago. We used to go out there when it wasn't a nature preserve but now the trails are great for taking your dog out or jogging or just exploring. Peaceful and beautiful! Hopefully the woodlands will stop developing all of the land that once made it such a great place to live! It could use some water stations and guides though.... Very easy to get lost in your wanderings...
