Well preserved house with additional interesting exhibits about the island's history. Also make time to try the cafe the food and drinks are great. I recommend the tostones.

It was an okay visit. Great to get a glimpse into the home of a historical figure. They did a good job in recreating the furniture placements on the ground floor.

Terrific historical site. Make it to the museum on the second floor. Don’t forget the cafe for a light lunch or a coffee or tea. Very nice people in the cafe were more helpful about places to go than the concierge.

A fascinating, wonderful and uncrowded visit to this well-restored house. Tons of fascinating information on GW’s visit, his struggle with slavery, the important role of smallpox inoculation, Barbados’ economic vitality, and much much more. The 20-minute intro video in an ACed room is very helpful. A bit expensive to enter for 20 USD pp but still enjoyed the visit. The cafe onsite is very cute but soooo expensive so we opted out. Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed George Washington House and it's history using a portable audio tour device. We had a leisurely walk round the house, gardens, separate kitchen block, followed by a trip down under the house along a tunnel. Apparently 3000 military personnel escaped using this route. The tunnel was my favourite part of the tour.

This place wasn't advertised well - we stumbled across it looking for a cafe. It was interesting to learn about Washington's time in Barbados. It's a self-guided tour and includes the tunnel, house, grounds, and a small, very wonderfully air-conditioned theater where they show a short dramatization. We were there during off-season, but did see a wardrobe, so I assume they also do re-enactments. The little museum area upstairs was nice, and the cafe was lovely too.

This was SO cool to see from the cruise ship! Walked there, and it was a bit of a walk with the heat and limited sidewalk areas, but ultimately worth it. Uber or taxi back to the ship after you are tired from the tour later. Great little cafe to eat at there. $18 per person I think to take the audio device supplied tour. Worth it. The vast underground garrisons are amazing to walk through, and from hundreds of years ago. So, if you are on a cruise to Barbados, don't buy an excursion for hundreds of dollars. Walk there for free. Pay $40 to take the tour, and pay a taxi $25 or so to get back to the ship. Do the math there.

Spent a few hours wandering the grounds with the kids. It was incredibly informative and easy to follow with the self guided audio tour. My kids really liked the museum and the old guns. They also have old tunnels you can go into. My kids thought that was the best part.
