Our visit to George Washington House was an amazing experience from start to finish.
The house itself is beautifully preserved and thoughtfully interpreted, offering such a fascinating glimpse into the time George Washington spent in Barbados. Walking through the rooms and learning about that chapter of history was both educational and memorable. The exhibits are well done and really help bring the story to life.
One of the most unique parts of the experience is exploring the underground tunnels. If you’re claustrophobic, you may want to skip that portion — they are narrow in spots — but overall they were such a cool and unexpected feature. Even the tunnels added to the sense of adventure and history.
Honestly, the only thing we wished is that more of the tunnel system was open to the public because it’s such a fascinating element of the site.
All in all, this is absolutely worth visiting. Historic, immersive, and incredibly well done — a highlight of our time in Barbados.
