Thank you, Georges Adelaide, for blessing us on our 100th day together. The service was excellent, with professional and friendly staff whose knowledge of food and wine was truly impressive. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the signature lamb press, which was the best lamb dish I’ve ever had in Australia. The romantic ambiance, combined with the open kitchen, ensured we were never bored while waiting for our meals. We chose the 5-course feed me menu, and the well-thought-out selection and outstanding quality of the dishes made it perfect for celebrating a special occasion. The highlight was the dessert—complete with a chocolate and cookie platter featuring a message celebrating our anniversary. It was incredibly touching and the perfect way to end our special day. Thank you once again for making our day so memorable!

That steak was phenomenal. Very friendly staff who were able to accommodate us without a prior booking. Their recommendation of the potatoes as a shared side went down a treat. Unsurprisingly the wine selection was superb. We were visiting from Perth, and GEORGES will be top of the list of places to return to when we're back in Adelaide.

George's restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. The modern Mediterranean offerings were nothing short of delightful. We opted for the set menu with wine pairing, and it was an absolute treat. The king fish stood out with its impeccable taste, while the iconic lamb meal was a close second. Although I personally prefer a stronger tahini flavor in my hummus, it was well-prepared with a good texture. Their bread was an absolute delight, and the vegetables? Presented in the most perfect manner imaginable. Beyond the culinary wonders, it was the service that stole the show. I wish I remembered the name of the staff member who lived in Dubai, but he was the epitome of professionalism. His humor, menu knowledge, and the personal touch of remembering our special occasion made our night unforgettable. I'm not sure if George or someone else manages the establishment, but whoever it is, hats off to you! You've earned your title as a restaurant legend. Highly recommended!

We visited this place a couple of weeks ago for our company’s Christmas function and had a great experience. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the staff provided friendly and attentive service throughout the evening. The food was sophisticated and absolutely delicious, except for a steak dish we had, which wasn’t quite to our liking (meat was a little bit well done, and quite chewy, however the sauce that came with it was delicious). However, the rest of the menu was outstanding and thoughtfully prepared. Their selection of high-quality wines was impressive and paired beautifully with the dishes. Highly recommended if you’re in town and looking for an exceptional dining experience!

I love the ambience, the clean and modern look of the restaurant. Overall, the food quality was excellent, and the service from the friendly staff was impeccable. But there was one dish not to my personal liking - signature lamb press. The lamb meat had a very strong, unique smell, and I had to ask for chilli flakes and pair it with the vinegar shallot from the side dish salad to neutralise the smell. The dish lacks a little acidity, in my opinion. Nonetheless, I would like to go back to try other dishes on their creative menu the next time.

🌟One of the best dining experiences I've had🌟 We opted for "à la carte" option to try things we wanted, as we wanted to try specific things and we weren't disappointed! The burrata was just amazing with the fresh tomatoes and the steak just melted in your mouth, with that to-die-for French style butter.🧈🥩 They also have a great selection of wines from all over the world 🌎🍷 I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for fine dining. ✅

Visited Georges for Valentine’s dinner and opted for their $150 per person set menu. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The meal started off well with the beef carpaccio and Tocchetti pasta entrees—both were enjoyable, though the pasta was lukewarm when served. However, things went downhill from there. The fresh market fish main course was bland and lacking in flavour, making it quite underwhelming. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he offered no response other than a dismissive “oh ok,” which was disappointing. Service was also rather slow. While it’s understandable that there would be some wait given how busy the restaurant was, nearly 40 minutes between the entrees and mains felt excessive. Surely, there should have been more foresight and extra staff for the night to manage the demand more efficiently. Given the premium price of the set menu, the overall experience was disappointing. While the starters showed promise, the long wait times, lacklustre mains, and indifferent service made for an underwhelming evening. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be in a rush to return.

Yelp
Service was great, food presentation was nice but the food was just ok. The espresso martini wasn't that good sadly... Best dishes we had was the white fish appetizer, the oysters and the fish special they had that day. My bf like the ball things on the antipasto plate but I didn't care for it. I had the scallop tortellini which I didn't care for. It was fishier than I expected. My bf's pork belly dish was just ok. The gnocchi was supposedly good but I didn't try it. It was my bf's mom's bday so they gave her a complimentary desert that said happy birthday which was really nice.

Yelp
We came to George's for my Birthday Lunch yesterday and couldn't of been happier. I had the Lamb Press which was incredible, some of the best lamb I have eaten. With a side of smashed Rosemary potatoes and a Sharing Board with cured meats, olives, anchovies, Oysters and the like. Couple of nice glasses of red wine too. Service was prompt and friendly, and we didn't have to wait too long for food or drink. Would recommend for any occasion.

Yelp
Well it has been a while since I dined at Georges and I agree it is still 'old school' the type of place you would go for a business lunch that you can claim on the company expense account. The waiting staff are very attentive and make you feel very special. I had the fish of the day which was a crispy skin barramundi fillet served on an amazing mash with shaved fennel on top, which was absolutely perfect. The rest of my lunch buddies had the lobster tortellini which they were all a little unimpressed with for the price (around $35 I think) but three of them are Italian so probably a tough crowd to please. The Chandon went down well, maybe a bit too well but overall the lunch was lovely, service was great (although they were a bit slack with the bread we needed first up to soak up the champers) and still a classy place to dine and pretend you can afford to eat and drink like that everyday.

Yelp
As a man who travels solo for work alot this dinner was "good, but..." At the door, was invited in by one of the waiters, who seated me. Said I was looking for a place to eat that a single diner would not feel out of place. Was seated at a 2 top with most of the dining room checking me out. My welcome was genuine and I was seated immediately, but I didn't feel comfortable as a lone diner. Scallops were succulent and tender, but hidden in a nest of fried something. Four scallops to the order, each on an pearl oyster half shell. A small dollop of some sauce that was indistinguishable in the nest of fried something. Lamb was braised and wrapped in thin layers of tasteless pancetta that only seemed to serve the purpose of holding the braised lamb together. Had a citrus sauce of some sort on top that kind of overwhelmed the lamb. The dish was good, but not the life-changing lamb dish I was hoping for. Nice atmosphere, welcoming, smallish, a good number of 4 top tables and a few 2 tops. A bar with seats but seemed uninviting to sit there - like this isn't that kind of place. Kind of business casual with many sport coats and only one pair of jeans. Didn't see a tie around a single neck. White "butcher block" paper on the tables with fresh butter, and salt & pepper finger bowls, and white cloth napkins placed in your lap at seating. A single slice of French bread was brought shortly after seating. Very engaging wait staff, friendly and all classically dressed for a bit of a formal feeling. Listened to them small talk a number of tables, but they didn't do that for me. Kept my water full and offered me a 2nd glass of wine when entree came. Seemed genuinely interested in my experence there. My waitress gave me an excellent wine pairing, with the George's label red blend with the lamb press. Of note - I did overhear a menu explanation for other tables that was never offered for me. Looks like a nice place for either a business dinner or a date night. But I wouldn't recommend it for the lone traveller looking for a comfortable solo dining experience.

Yelp
Had really good night, my meal was packed full of flavour. Pulled Pork wrapped in ham. The waiter was very attentive, and thoughtful. I recommend George's for good meal in a fresh clean atmosphere.

Yelp
We recently hosted a group of 18 business/IT execs at George's - the team made sure it ran smoothly and was a great success on the day. Booking and confirmation was streamlined and hassle free before the event. Staff were incredibly accommodating on the day, cleverly questioning to make sure all was in order before our guests arrived and making last minute seating/table changes without fuss. Our waiter, Johnny, suggested some great, well priced red and whites wines for the table. The function room is well suited to hosting a business lunch, with a projector and screen already installed in the room (not common in a lot of restaurants). The bar in the function room allowed us to provide welcome drinks before sitting for lunch. The staff swiftly took orders for the group so we could get started with the presentation. We had two guests who needed to leave before lunch was to conclude, so George gave instructions to the kitchen to make sure these guests were served first. Wonderful food, wine and service all round. Well done George, Johnny and team - look forward to hosting an event with you again soon.

Yelp
Unassuming from the outside but an incredible dining experience with knowledgable servers and brilliant creation of modern Australian cuisine. Portions are generous and the Chefs are bold and confident with flavours. You can sit for a good two hours going into different plates swinging from one Pinot to the other.

Yelp
On a cold winter's night George's was just the answer. The decor was warm and inviting only matched by the welcome from the staff. The restaurant was almost full when arrived but the service was still courteous, prompt and efficient. The was also outstanding, I ordered signature dish being the pressed lamb while my partner ordered the tagliatelle with prawns. Both dishes were outstanding. We ordered the broccoli with parmesan custard to start which was a wonderful start to a memorable meal. Will definitely be back next time we visit Adelaide.

Yelp
Amazing service and food. This is a venue that we go to for our special occasions. The service is first class and the menu is unique. I like the whole experience dining at this place.

Yelp
We ordered the house specials. Me - the Snapper and my friend the tagliatelle special. Flavours were beautiful, however the homemade pasta was a little thick and heavy. All was good when dessert was placed on the table. We shared the poached pear with the sensational mulled wine ice cream. The wine list is impressive - not too overwhelming with lots of local wine to choose from. The service was outstanding. Our waiter made great recommendations and approached without intruding - you know the kind - they did not interrupt our conversation. An enjoyable evening.

Yelp
Went here for a long work lunch to send off a colleague. Could not fault it! Amazing entree of plump scallops, followed by delicate duck and orange tagliatelle. Others at table raved about the lamb press, lobster tortellini and even the fried potato side. The waiter was flawless and really got this review the 5th star. He got us to try some new European beers and nice wines which were all good, and his attentive, knowledgable yet friendly service made us feel relaxed and not rushed, despite our late booking. Whilst on the pricey side, I have paid more in places down the street and got a lot less. Try it!

Yelp
Georges is old school - but definately not out of date. The decor is classic and spacious with wonderful wood, high ceilings and crisp white linen on the tables. The waiter's are predominantly men and many of them are of european descent themselves. The service is amongst the most polished and professional in Adelaide. What an experience! The food is mediterranean and just like Bec I will often break my 'no pasta' rule for this place. The serves are moderate so you can squeeze in 3 courses if you so desire. The crowd is usually suits, as the restaurant is only open monday to friday lunch and thursday, friday for dinner. The limited opening hours are my one beef with the place and the reason why I have deprived them of a fifth star, but I can hardly hold the deliberate choice to provide a specific product against them. Delicious!

Yelp
George's I have to say is a fantastic restaurant. I'm italian and I never buy pasta from anywhere as I make it myself, but Georges is the only place I will. I fell in love with their gnocchi especially. OMG! Was with truffles! Great service, all pasta is made on site and their menu changes with the season. A must try for people with a refined pallet. 5 stars from me.

Yelp
We made it to George's on a rare scoopon and what a pleasant surprise. Amazing service, attentive and delightful conversations, hassle free. All the food was so great I'll only mention the freshly made pasta which had a sort of lamb ragu dressing - YUM!!! All I ask of my food is to be tasty but this dish was also memorable, something generally reserved for holidays. Classic decor and feel but not old or boring. Must go back soon.

Yelp
Recently went here with a group of friends and it was recommended. Some stand out dishes! I ordered a pasta and I thought it was nice. Good prices. The staff are very attentive.

Yelp
I have visited Georges on Waymouth a number of times over the past couple of years, and their food, service, and atmosphere are always exemplary. George is known for his welcoming and 'never say no' attitude. They accommodate dietary requirements with ease, their staff are knowledgable about the wines and the menu, and the food is amazing!! Do yourself a favour and visit this stalwart of the Adelaide restaurant scene.

Yelp
Great table service, lovely selection of food and wines and really nice atmosphere. Was really impressed and will definitely be back! Everything was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully.

Jenni R.

Yelp
I was disappointed. We took an important overseas guest there, and were given a table all alone by the toilet. Then had to wait forever for service, with four different waiters over the night (felt like they were drawing straws to see who had to suffer and come up stairs to serve us) - at one point I had to lean over the balcony to get someone's attention. I really expected better. The food was pretty good, but it was hard to appreciate without the accompanying service. Have had so much better at other Adelaide restaurants! Lucky my guest had a sense of humour.
