I finally found the soul Resturant Worcester. . George would be really proud of Coney Island restaurant. The standard hot dog in 2025 March is $2.57. With the extras for every single topping. . The hotdogs were cooked perfection and fastly delivered . The crew in there is absolutely friendly. . I really love the ambience of the place. Everything is just kept probably in place like 50 years back. The rest sketch artist who have engraved their place in the historical place on all the benches. . They have a chocolate milk from Gibson‘s diary please don’t miss it. I live right nearby to Gibson’s farm, but I never had the privilege to try it out, they don’t sell there. .

Love it! This place looks like it hasn't changed in 50 years. Amazing hot dogs. Great prices. Expect a line when they open, but it's worth it.

Know what you want, say it clear, and if you like raw onion, always get "the works." It's been around for 107 years for a reason. Stop in, put something on the REAL jukebox, carve or sharpie your name into a booth (NOT on the bar side booths), and enjoy world class chili dogs while you see how far back you can find initials and dates from patrons past. My Uncle Tom introduced me to this place when I was just a little kid. Now I get to bring my kids and wife and tell stories of Saturday morning rides out for some auto parts and chili dogs from times long past.

Google
This historic eatery has been gracing Wormtown since 1918. I went to George's Coney Island for the first time and regretted only getting 1 "Up dog". Now, you might ask, what's "up dog?" And, you'd be right. Stephanie is awesome and helped me understand what "The Works" and "Up" really are. I will be going back for more. Pro Tip: Sidle up to the bar and get an order of 3 UP and a side of mac n cheese. Also, they have half sour pickles.

Google
Extremely fast. Wicked hot. Chili sauce was banging. I'd come here again Wish they had cheese sauce or bacon but can't complain

Google
Super affordable meal. Sub $3 a dog and they tasted great. Buc-cee approves. Will be coming again

Google
I will fight Anyone that doesn't give this place five stars. 2up and. Knuckle-fkn-sandwich. This place is a national treasure. It's literally the only reason to go to Worcester outside of catching commuter rail to a Sox game. Whenever I think about the Devers trade or how Bob Kraft has dementia, I come here to make myself feel happiness.

If you're craving the best hot dogs in town, look no further than Coney Island! Their hot dogs are absolutely top-notch – perfectly grilled, juicy, and packed with incredible flavor. And don't miss out on their Half Tower Pickle – it's the perfect crunchy, tangy sidekick to any meal. The customer service here is fantastic too – the staff is always welcoming, friendly, and quick to serve up your order with a smile. Plus, their Buy 12 Get 1 Free deal is a game changer, especially if you're grabbing a bite with family or friends. Coney Island knows how to keep their customers happy and coming back for more. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I get anxious going into clearly iconic diners with a lot of local regulars (my own thing about feeling like an outsider lol), but that quickly went away here. The woman who rang me out was super nice and everyone behind the counter seemed to have a steady flow going, definitely a well-oiled machine! Truly a blast from the past, all the old school booths covered in over 100 years of signatures and little notes from customers was so cool to see. Food? Awesome. Solid hot dog, gorgeous homemade mac and cheese, and prices that gave me a sigh of relief its heartwarming to see this place going strong, well loved, and able to keep more than reasonable prices. Ill be back for sure!

Yelp
Every time I walk in here I feel like I've stepped in a Time Machine. The service is the fastest ever, the bar is separate on the other side for a nice atmosphere depending on which vibe you want . The old school wooden booths where people have carved their names into them . The classic chocolate milk in a glass bottle everyone raves about . And finally we bought their shirts we are so proud of . #swag

Yelp
George's Coney Island lunch is probably one of the best places to go in Worcester for a quick easy hotdog or cheeseburger meal or a quick beer with that meal. The service is unbelievably fast straight off the grill and into your hands within seconds. The vibe is always awesome, and I love their chocolate milk in a glass bottle to die for. Connor is one of the best servers in the world. He overly exerts himself to make you happy.

Yelp
Old school! Graffiti! Cool place when the urge for a dog bites 2up with a Polar diet orange dry. Mmmm Good

Yelp
I'm a hot dog aficionado. I usually go to Hot Dog Annie's, but I do visit Coney Island when I'm in the area. Pretty basic hot dogs. This place is iconic, for many reasons. Old time atmosphere, very nostalgic. Check it out if you're in the mood for hot dogs. FYI...there's a full bar connected to the restaurant.

Philip H.

Yelp
Out of curiosity i stopped in. Service is fine and ambiance ok . Now for the hot dogs ! I was totally disappointed. The hot dogs are pink soft and not what they serve in coney island! The hot dogs at Nathans coney island are crisp and full of taste!

Eve H.

Yelp
Hotdog taste good!! RC cola is awesome although weird after taste.has a juke box!! Great nice service!! It's so cute !!would definitely come here again. Would recommend!!!!!!!!!

Craig P.

Yelp
The Dogs are awesome , the best anywhere . The perfect chili dog . It's a place you have to visit if you are in Worcester. Great food for over a hundred years . One star today because of the staff . When the owner is working it's fine , we happened to visit on a Sunday right before closing and dealt with a condescending punk in a Nirvana shirt who took our order . Never gotten an attitude from anyone there in over 50 years of coming in .until that day .

Yelp
If you are ever in kelly square You have to stop by Coney island hot dogs. This place is an institution. They have been here longer than jesus Classic food. Great atmosphere, wonderful service. How do you recommend

S. D. J.

Yelp
Wonderful, spacious old school family business with loads of 'nostalgic charm' in its graffiti-carved wooden booths, inexpensive menu and overall worn-with-age decor. You have to order a couple of dogs 'Up'- with mustard, chili sauce and chopped onions. The Polar Orange is the perfect 'pairing'

Josh M.

Yelp
It is a local legend. You won't get blown away but you will get decent dogs at an ok price. Not much for parking around it. It's a cool place to check out and say you've been, but not really worth a special trip. Price is ok. Service is hit or miss. But it's a neat looking classic inside.

Jess L.

Yelp
Having grown up in Rhode Island with similar hotdogs - I was very excited to finally try George's. Inside is clean, comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. Food is exactly what I was hoping for and you can't beat the nostalgia of the Worcester Special which includes a drink, huge pickle and a table talk pie. I get my hotdogs with mustard, chili, onion and celery salt

Troy B.

Yelp
Food was to die for, and the service is pretty average. It almost felt like I was in an actual diner. So I am very impressed by the atmosphere there. Which is why I always come here for sports tournaments. So awesome.

Nonya B.

Yelp
I think i'm the only one in the city who doesn't like this place, it's really dirty and it smells like old mop/dish water

Logan D.

Yelp
Pros: -No frills old school diner -Inexpensive (~$3/hot dog, but note that they are small) -Tasty hot dogs (I like them with the works--onions, chili, mustard) -Lots of Worcester products (polar seltzer, table talk pies, wachusett chips)

Joe S.

Yelp
What can I say? Local legend. If you have never been here, you're missing out. It hasn't been updated probably since the 1940s. Which is absolutely amazing. Hotdogs are wonderful. There's also a cool little bar attached that nobody seems to know about. Grab a hot dog, chocolate milk, or a cold beer and be happy!!

Tina S.

Yelp
A few days ago my husband was saying he wanted a good coney. We were in Worcester for a cheer competition. We found this place while stopped at a restaurant light on our way home. We decided to stop in. So glad we did. You stand in line like a lunch line order your food and take to your seat. No waiting for a server. The line went very quickly. Talked to a nice local guy in line who said this is a staple in the area. If your ever in the area go in you will not be disappointed

Isaac D.

Yelp
Truly an iconic adventure for a hot dog. Prices are more than reasonable-I went for the hotdog because thats what they're known for but ill assume their other menu items are tasty because the hot dogs were delicious! Street-metered parking in front but its like $1 for 2 hours so you'll have plenty of time. If you have time-go read the walls for all the history of the restaurant. Just a good solid meal.

J B.

Yelp
Wow! This was a random find while on a business trip to the area. Turned out to be one of the best hot dogs I've ever had. Great hot dog joint with really cool retro feel. Definitely worth a visit and I look forward to going back the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
"I'm a Coney Island baby Man, I'd swear, I'd give the whole thing up for you" (Lou Reed) I attended a Tuesday June 21 Golf outing dinner in Worcester County, but it wasn't the dinner I was looking forward to. I planned to have lunch at George's Coney Island but was mega-disappointed when I learned they were closed on Tuesdays. So today I did the next best thing and had lunch at the George's Coney Island stand inside Polar Park Stadium. I mean, it was still a hot dog at the old ballpark, right? It was a real wave of nostalgia for me, because I lived in Worcester from 1977 to 1982, and let's just say I had a few lunches at their iconic Southbridge Street restaurant. I SOOOOOOOO wanted to visit again! George's Coneys at the ballpark are just $4, which is a buck less than the other hot dog stands, because the Coneys are a teense smaller than a conventional hot dog. We ordered two - one with just mustard for the Mrs. and one with ketchup, onions, and relish for me. We also split a giant pickle (sliced into 4 spears) for just $3. So at just $5.50 each we had a fantastic lunch! Its great to see that George's is still around, I hope to visit their Mother Ship one of these days.

Samira D.

Yelp
My boyfriend loves this place. He got 8 everything hot dogs which has chili, mustard, and onion and I got 4 chili and ketchup (I could not finish all 4 but he finished his 8 + a pickle. He did say the pickle was very salty). The service is great, they kill their lines quickly and will have your food ready in a minute. There's lots of seats if you want to eat inside. Its definitely an older building but a good vibe over all. I would definitely recommend.

George M.

Yelp
Original Coney Hot Dogs Mustard meat sauce and onions bag of chips two chocolate milks Brings me back to when I was 8 years old and they are still the same after all these years

Jay M.

Yelp
I stop in when in area . I ordered 2 dogs the works with mustard, chili, onions... fast and reasonable 5.50 for two dogs. Dogs small ... too small Need regular and large option... Need melted cheese wiz or cheese option... I like cheese dogs with onions, mustard... they only offer a slice American cheese option ? Not melted cheese . Decent for 5.50 Place looks 1940's and hasn't changed since... all original and old cash register still on counter in bar area next to new computer POS system... Add a sausage and onions, pepper option ? Definitely worth a visit for dogs and see old school set up

Tom W.

Yelp
Delicious fresh pickles and good size of hamburgers , hot dogs, and macaroni cheese! Service was fast and on time before closing at 3! The environment was nostalgia !

Brandy E.

Yelp
I googled hole in the wall and this little gem appeared. I really enjoyed listening to the juke box and eating lunch. My husband and I both got the "works" hotdog & chips. The hot dogs were great & I enjoyed the barbecue chips. I felt like the prices were great. We both ate under $12. I would definitely eat here again.

Louise P.

Yelp
Needed to find a quick bite between work & a show at Mechanics' Hall. Happy I "discovered" George's Coney Island Lunch. The special was a great deal for me: I love, love those pickles. The dogs, with the works, were great. I had to find a way to come back soon, cuz I knew my husband would love the food and the atmosphere. I found the way - and brought him for his first visit. He was as pleased as I expected. He had a couple of extra dogs for dessert . I paired my lunch with Polar grape, hubby had a PBR. Nice that beer is available, though most people seem to order chocolate milk. Good food - good prices - kitchy atmosphere. What's not to like?

Paul E.

Yelp
Went back with a friend from Montana, nothings changed and that's a great thing! Thank you so much for being such an iconic Worcester lunch. I'll be back yet again from the south shore to Worcester.

Michael M.

Yelp
About what l expected. Old school, got the 'Thursday special' so lm not going to complain. Good stop before Woo Sox game.

Terri Lee S.

Yelp
Three stars for looking iconic that's pretty much where it ends. Cold thin hot dogs, oversized buns with a dollop of chili does not make a quality chili dog. Counter service was lacking and it can't be a hard job explaining the drill to people since they only have a few items on the menu People line up for this place only because it's local, iconic, inexpensive and has been there forever. You only go there for one thing, a sub par chili dog seeped in memories. If you don't have the memories your going to just get a poor chili dog. Maybe not bad for a 2.57 hot dog and you get what you pay for

Mark T.

Yelp
The hotdogs are so good and the service is awesome!!! The have a deal I believe on Saturday so check there website!! The ambience is classic throw back you have to stop in and try it out!!

Jayne M.

Yelp
It's all good! I have never eaten anything but hotdogs, pickles, chips, and diet cream soda there before. That's all you need. It's so good.

Mike C.

Yelp
What can I say that 50 plus years of "testimonies" on the booths and walls don't already say?! This is an American classic! Not to mention the dogs, classic tasty hot dogs, great meat sauce/chili = get me 3 "up", a large chocolate milk (in the glass bottle!), a Polar Cola and a Table Talk Pie to top it off!! Bring your kids, friends and relatives, if you're from MA or spent any time around here you just might see someone you know!

AJ C.

Yelp
Who doesn't like a good ass hotdog with relish, sour cream and onion potato chips, chocolate milk, and hella heart burn. That's apparently the "classic" thing to order according to a lifetime local Worcesterite.

Bravo B.

Yelp
Delicious cheese chili dogs. Does not disappoint. Quick service. Don't be afraid of the line, goes by quick and worth the wait!

Barrett F.

Yelp
For a drop in chili dog this place is hard to beat! Its god old diner charm and the it's a steal for what you get.

Chad H.

Yelp
Iconic Worcester establishment with a cult following - and for good reason. Wether you're at Polar Park or their downtown location definitely stop by for a Coney Island dog. The prices are very reasonable just one of the few places you can grab a couple dogs, bag of chips, soda for less than $10. Definitely the go to spot for a quick lunch in the Worcester area.

craig a.

Yelp
Best hot dogs around! Great service, and no frills ambience! Whether it's my birthday or Father's Day, we head to George's!

Joseph T.

Yelp
Want to George's Coney Island Lunch today for the first time ever. I have had hotdogs from a lot of different places. I would have to say I love the stuff there and the service is absolutely amazing there. The hotdogs are so freaking delicious for 1 hotdog with the works is $2.75. I give the stuff the best compliment they have heard the day today they waved me up to the count and said we enjoyed that feedback so much we want to give you a free hotdog on the house. If I could rate them 1 out of 10 stars on here I would give them 10 stars all day long. But because I can't give them 10 star on yelp I am going to give them a solid rating of 5 stars.

Wendy G.

Yelp
Tradition. Tradition. Tradition. I always want to "eat where the locals go" and this is definitely it! The local secret starts with the parking that is expansive behind the building, in addition to MANY outside picnic tables to choose from. You walk up to alley admiring a larger-than-life mural painted in 2017 with a distinct deco flourish amidst the modern vibe. You are welcomed by the restaurants 1940s original to the owner's vision mounted on the outside. Once inside, you are transported directly to the 1930s with red leather & wooden booths, Art Deco pictures & wall color. You KNOW it's where the locals head...we arrived just at noon,& immediately lined up behind 14 people in working labor shirts bearing company names, logos & graphics. The line moved quickly. We ordered 2 MRO (mustard, relish & onion) hotdogs, cheeseburger, baked beans, water & ice cold diet cola. (Don't throw shade.). We were warned at ordering the burger was 10 minutes, but we still forged ahead. Food arrived 10 minutes later- piping hot. Cheeseburger was fresh from the grill- moist with a soft fresh bun. The dogs had a crisp crunch, soft bun, traditional yellow mustard & loaded with onions. The beans were AMAZING- fresh beans, bits of bacon with the perfect amount of flavor- just a bit sweet. Drinks were ice cold & Utz family owned chips were crisp & salty-- the best balance. Soaked in the ambiance of customers, decor & food before emerging back into the present when the door closed behind us.

Yelp
I brought my daughter and son to George's Coney Island not only for the food but for a look back in history. It specializes in pretty much one thing and all the foods that go with it. The hot dogs are reasonably priced, taste great, and are made fresh to order. Pair them with some delicious homemade beans, local chips and polar soda it made for a delicious dinner. It also gave me the opportunity to show my kids a place that has stood the test of time. Look at all the names carved in the seats, the narrow entrance, the hammered ceiling. You just don't see that anymore. Give them a try. You won't be sorry.

Lori F.

Yelp
What can I say? A total foodie staple for the area. I know they've been around since my parents, and of course I grew up coming here and now my daughters are bringing their husbands. Awesome dogs, great people and the unique old booth walls from yesteryear. And the juke box! ALWAYS must play some Led Zeppelin songs while eating away.

Brynn S.

Yelp
Fantastic place for hot dogs. Favorite is the "Garden Dog". We love the history of the place and everyone there is nice. You have to stay and sit in one of the original cafeteria booths!! This is a staple in the community and one of our favorite lunch spots.

Trisha B.

Yelp
George's Coney Island is apparently a staple in Worcester. With COVID, they are only offering takeout. You can order via the phone or online. Get to the restaurant and there's a table outside blocking the door. They're fast, but then again, it's a pretty simple menu. I'm not quite sure what the hype is. I get that George's has been around for a long time. Maybe my thoughts would be different if I got to dine-in and see the history inside. But as far as the food, we got the Works hot dog and there is absolutely nothing special about it. We ate our hot dogs immediately once we got back in the car, and it didn't have that fresh, crisp taste that other reviewers rave about. Nothing special about the hot dog, seems like an Oscar Mayer Classic hot dog in bulk. Typical hot dog bun. And the Works is just onions, relish, mustard and chili. While their hot dogs aren't expensive, they aren't exactly cheap for what it is ($2.25). Overall, I was pretty disappointed and I do not plan on trying it again.

Damien K.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of restaurants that are landmark establishments. George's Coney Island Lunch just celebrated their 100 year anniversary. The menu is fairly simple, and it is impressive watching them speed through serving up dogs in their lunch rush with precision and efficiency. Cash only, I ordered three dogs with the works and a Polar seltzer. The "works" is mustard, their chili sauce, and fresh cut onions. Simple but tasty, the dogs are that epitome of sticking to a simple concept that has worked and not straying from it. I don't think you would be disappointed going here. But only giving it 4 stars because while amazingly simple and true to their roots, the food isn't going to be blowing your mind either. Simple food done right, at a very reasonable price. More of a historic landmark you can dine at.

Rosemary S.

Yelp
Went to the WooSox game with my management crew. Had a blast. Ordered the hotdog with everything and a Polar Orange Dry. Hot dogs are the average small. I wish they were larger and cooked on a grill or rollers.

Mike C.

Yelp
A classic! Order the hot dogs "up" (w/chili sauce), or "MRO" (mustard, relish, onion). On a soft bun, and quick as bobs your uncle. No hot dog Nazis here! And check the Art Deco neon sign out front, co-opted by Nikon and advertised in National Geographic! Thank me later. And never, I mean NEVER, order ketchup on a hot dog. Bleccch.

Karen H.

Yelp
Best hotdogs in America. I get mine "up with cheese" (chili con carne, yellow mustard, diced onion). When your done you can carve your name into the booth. Chili Cheese Dog Soft Bun

Jesse S.

Yelp
Great gem of a spot. Feels like a preserved restaurant from a bygone era. Incredible prices and value.

Mike R.

Yelp
First trip during Covid. Same great tasting hot dogs, ice cold orange dry and salty wachusett chips. Easy to order....best hot dogs around whether there is a pandemic or not.
