We were part of a large & extended family & friends group all staying at the Hotel for 2-4 nights over the weekend to celebrate my youngest son's Wedding in the Cathedral.||Overall, the Hotel staff looked after our very different needs very well indeed. Jack in the main Pub was excellent, seemed to be on duty for every shift and was attentive, fun and efficient. We had breakfasts, suppers, Sunday lunches, endless rounds of drinks for large groups of Groomsmen, young & elderly relatives to cater for and even small children were considered with something for everyone at all times including ample draught Guinness, and a play space & slide in the garden included (not to be confused).||The location is good too, within easy walking distance of the main City Centre and also local shops. We were very taken with Norwich in general & would recommend walking to the pretty cobbled streets, shops & open market. Some impressive architecture too.||The rooms were spacious and had all amenities, the Georgian style is kept to with the tasteful decor albeit some of the common areas (stairs etc) are probably due for a refresh. But nothing to worry about.||As we are in the Hospitality sector ourselves, we do notice detail and the things that really mattered to a discerning guest were well attended to. Well done all staff, we had a fabulous weekend.

Booked here after a friend's recommendation. I read the recent reviews after and they were all really negative. They are also a million miles off in my opinion. ||Beautiful old building. Room was really nice with modern touches, loads of little details made for a really comfortable stay. Staff are lovely. We had dinner and breakfast and both were really good. Fresh ingredients and tasted great. Good choice.||I'll definitely be back.

We had an excellent stay - my second. Our rooms were good , comfortable and quiet. Food was faultless and delicious . Everyone we dealt with was helpful. Lauren in Reception and Georgie in the restaurant/ bar were exceptional. We hope to return in the future and would recommend The Georgian Townhouse unreservedly for the warmth of welcome and the exceptional food. |I had some reservations before I arrived due to difficulties in making contact by telephone but these fears were totally without foundation. The team appeared to work well together to make us feel welcome and I can’t understand negative reviews about food and decor. Completely unjustified in my opinion.

Lovely hotel. Stayed here a few times and have always had a great experience every time. The rooms have a nice decor and are very comfortable, with good amenities. The staff are very welcoming and friendly as well. The restaurant/bar is great and has a lively atmosphere. Our first choice whenever visiting Norwich, highly recommend.

Went here for lunch with friends but the food was far from good. Toasties / sandwiches with stale bread, fillings not seasoned and no sides of salad or chips with £11 premium for a cheese toastie, which was disappointing. Ambience nice and service was acceptable but big let down on the food.

My partner booked this hotel as a birthday treat for me, I wish he had read the TA before he did. Positives the location is great for shopping in the city, just ten min walk away. We arrived just after 1pm, knew it was early for check in but planned on getting lunch there and perhaps, as some hotels will do, if your room is ready let you check in perhaps half hour early. No one on reception, you have to go to the bar, we were told quite pointedly that we could not check in earlier un less we paid, he didn't even ask what name the booking was under to perhaps check ! We had lunch, it was okay. We headed to reception just before 3pm, a few others were also waiting, 3.05pm a young lady turned up, no apology for keeping us all waiting. Little interaction with us, zero customer service - not one, welcome, have you stayed with us before, are you here for a special occasion perhaps, the usual, nothing ! We were booked into an apartment (my partner didn't realise he had booked on) were handed a key on a plastic tag that looked like it belonged to a filing cabinet and hauled our bags over the busy road in the rain to the apartment. This overlooked a car park from the kitchen and the bedroom window, right next to the bed was looking onto a gravel path way which accessed other apartments. No way you would want to leave the windows open or curtains open at all. We didn't feel comfortable at all. Tried to call the hotel to ask about a transfer but just got answerphone so back across we went. At first the receptionist was quite blunt telling us there were no rooms but once I said I just didn't feel at all safe she agreed and gave us a key to another apartment. This room was still overlooked in all directions being ground floor again, and had a claustrophobic feel to it, but not as bad as the previous. it was tatty in places, walls scuffed, bath panel needed replacing, not sure where the advertised lounge was !! there was a sofa in the bedroom! Bathroom windows sealed shut. Holes in the back of the door where hooks once were. Just generally quite tired and certainly nothing boutique, charming, or comfy about it. No mirror over the dressing table. I've stayed in better Premier Inns. Breakfast was okay, as we walked in we were met with the same odd reactions from staff, they seemed to glance at us then look away, almost hoping that someone else would deal with us ! Food was nothing special, not particularly warm or filling but it served a purpose. On the outside the hotel looks lovely as does the restaurant area and we had good reports from friends who had attended events there . But i certainly would not recommend the hotel at all. Tired, grubby, poor attention to detail, little or no customer/hospitality training for staff. public outside areas untidy. Would not return

Nice place and staff. Went on a Monday lunchtime and was told there was no fish pie, sausage rolls or cheesecake on the menu. Shared the Charcuterie board but was disappointed there was only 1 meat choice and 1 cheese choice on the board when 2 choices were mentioned on the menu. Asked for an Irish coffee but they had no cream. Whoever does the food ordering needs to up their game. Will go back again and hopefully will be better.
