Absolutely great meals three times a day! Eat breakfast at 6 p.m. with a chocolate milkshake on the side!
I've been coming here on a regular basis for the past year. If I ever find my pictures from previous visits, I will be sure to upload them with the review.
They have a regular menu with breakfast lunch and dinner, along with specials that vary a llittle each day. All the food is great and reasonably priced - the most expensive meals are their top dinners for around $19.
I'm told the owner also owns the Athena Grill in downtown, which makes sense because this diner has Greek dishes as well as typical American fare. One of my favorites are the Greek platters number one and two. Number one has forget the name of it, but kind of like a Greek lasagna along with souvlaki and other Greek Fare. Sample Greek platter number 2 includes gyro meat, salad and some other stuff.
The breakfast is some typical American stuff like omelets, great pancakes, and other dishes with the addition of feta as a cheese option and some other Greek stuff. The lunch type items includes Burgers, Ruben's, and other salads and wraps. I have not had it, but there was a $12 tuna salad at the next table that looked extremely huge. The side dishes available for lunch and dinner include fries, tater tots, onion rings, potato salad and some few other non-fried items. The hot dog on the kids menu was adult size. It was a wonderful fresh baked bread with very light char from the grill, with a hotdog well over an inch thick also grilled with those little diagonal slices to prevent it from exploding as it cooks.
The dinner menus include a variety of pastas with meat, and I think prime rib shows up about every Friday. Their milkshakes are truly a guilty pleasure. One thing I like compared to other restaurants that do not specialize in ice cream is rather than just using vanilla ice cream with syrup, the ice cream itself it is the base flavor. For example, the coffee ice cream makes the coffee milkshake, and if you like they can add their chocolate syrup to make a mocha milkshake that is out of this world. They have a few flavors that rotate in and out, like a butter pecan and the oh so awesome toasted coconut pineapple, a pina colada milkshake without the booze.
I forget the name of the owner, as in don't know if it is Georgie or not, but he's an extremely nice man and he cultivates lovely flowers and other plants around the outside of the diner itself. He recognizes our faces and comes over to chat whenever we are there.
They serve beer and wine as well.
As an added bonus, Georgie's has their own free parking lot so not driving around for 30 minutes for a spot on the street at a $3 fifty an hour.
Great place for all meals! Sunday brunch is typically crowded; lines are shorter for dinner time
Since no 5-star review would be complete without an excessive number of exclamation points,
