Geraldton Backpackers on the Foreshore

Loved my stay here. Location is perfect across the street from the beach, easy to check into, comfy beds and fantastic water pressure in the shower. Even after I made an error and didn’t arrange early check out, they were able to accomodate me and have me check out and get my key deposit back to me same day. Highly recommend staying here if ever in Geraldton.

if you’re ever in Gero don’t miss out on this hostel!! The cleanliness, the staff and location are all on point I stayed here as a part of a volunteering through WorldPackers and I had such a good time. Pippa is an amazing host and she goes out of her way to make you feel at home. She even gave me the opportunity to have a job on the side and was always helpful and understanding! I’ll always have fond memories of this place and the beautiful people I met there<3

The best BP in WA so far for me. The lady at front is nice and so friendly, beautiful building, clean and tidy room, quiet, good shower and big and safe parking behind the building. No complains!

What a lovely hostel! I stayed in hostels all over the world and this has been the best kitchen ever! Clean with spices and a lot of utensils. The building itself is beautiful, very clean and right across from the beach. Definitely not a party hostel but a very safe and comfortable stay! I would recommend it to anyone and stay again :) thanks pipa!

Nice location and building, but paying $68 for a 4 bedroom dormitory is disappointing for the level of service. Having arrived to Geraldton early, I was unable to enter the building until 3:30pm (I understand online it states check in is unavailable until 3:30pm, but I was hoping to at least drop of my bags). I checked in before any of the other guests in my room, however I had been allocated top bunk, when I later explained this to the receptionist she says that other guests had paid more money to stay on the bottom bunk (something I find hard to believe). When checking out I was told I was unable to leave my bags behind in the common area for the morning (I was leaving Geraldton in the afternoon), and also told I was unable to stay in the common area for safety reasons. I understand this may be a locally family run hostel and the staff are busy, working hard and can't please everyone- but having stayed at many hostels across Australia, I found the experience staying here pretty inconvenient compared to others. Having also read other google reviews for this hostel, I can see they may not react kindly to my criticisms, I want to reiterate this is not a personal attack on the staff or place, just my honest review on my experience at the hostel which I want to share with others who might might staying here for a quick stopover like I did.

A very handy hostel with great views and location, super clean and tidy. I just needed a place to stay for a few nights, im glad i chose Geraldton Backpackers On The Foreshore. The manager Pippa is very kind and helpful, I look forward to staying again.

The hostel is choke a block full of patina, you feel the 1960s ( exceptionally clean, my single room is A1, advise choose room away from Western side of building to avoid heat no air con in room, terrific fan which is ample ) My host terrific, towel supplied and comfortable single bed, thanks for a great memory, Paul

The room was clean but there was not much space for everyone to open their suitcases (as there were 7 people in the room). The wifi and the air conditioning worked well, and the kitchen and bathrooms were nice. ||The rooms are upstairs and we had to carry our suitcase up steep steps. The floor is creaky and there are many house rules, but the owner was nice and explained everything thoroughly.
