On 16/01/2026, my family and i stayed in one of the units that was pre-booked and paid for online from the website Booking.com
During our stay we have utilised the fridge in the unit which had a tray with a repaired crack at the bottom of it. The attempted repair was evident before our arrival. We have placed a container of food in this tray and the food has accidentally spilled into the tray. The tray that was poorly repaired did not contain the spill and this has seeped through to the the fridge seal. We had only realised that happened as were packing for our departure and tried to rectify with the products we had on hand. I left knowing there may have been an extra cleaning fee we may have had to incur but also knowing that stain left behind could be completely removed as we have experienced a number a times successfully. Three days later I have received a text message,
"Hi Shar
The housekeeping team has reported this issue of fridge and tried cleaning it but it doesn't wash off this has been charged for replacement attached herewith are the pictures taken. Thank you

I have responded with a number of suggestions to help them with the stain as we have done in the past and the response i received instantly was,
"Hi Shar yes we did try use cream cleanser and bleach but couldn't get it off "
I then went on to call the number that I had been messaging and spoke to only of the cleaning team members who then advised my best option would be to speak with the manager, Natasha the owner and to contact the main number.
After trying to contact the main number a number of times as the cleaner advised told me now was a good time to contact her, I received a text from an unknown mobile stating they couldn't answer right now. I asked who that was and then she confirmed it was Natasha. I waited for a call back but received an email from her first,
"Hello Shar,
Thank you for your email.
The charge of $326 has been correctly applied and relates to damage to the fridge that cannot be rectified through cleaning. The staining is permanent, causes the appliance to appear unclean, and renders it unacceptable for continued use.
While you have agreed to cover the cost of the fridge drawer, the staining to the fridge itself occurred due to liquid being spilt throughout the appliance. Regardless of any prior issue with the tray, the outcome was permanent damage to the fridge, which necessitated replacement. Had the tray been removed at the time the curry was spilt, the fridge could have been properly cleaned; however, it was left in place, allowing the contents to stain the appliance.
Cleaning recommendations were followed; however, the stains could not be removed. As such, the charge does not relate to unauthorised services but to damage requiring replacement, and the amount has been applied accordingly.
We will not be refunding or reversing this charge. Should you choose to pursue a chargeback or leave a review, we will respond with documentation and evidence supporting the condition of the appliance and the basis for the charge to both your bank and publicly, if required.
The appliance was not left in the same condition as it was upon your arrival, and the staining was not caused by us.
This matter is now considered resolved.

After a number of calls and text, she refused to come to a reasonable resolution and charged my card a cleaning fee as well as replacement of the fridge seal.
She did not take any accountability for the poor repair done on the fridge tray which made the spill spread. She rejected all my attempts to help. She then continued to send me degrading texts which went on unprofessionally and I asked her to stop as I knew there wasnt going to be a reasonable solution reached. She refused to do so and told me to grow up.
I have since made claims with consumer protection and ACCC as I dont believe there was fair treatment from her personally
