We went to the restaurant as a big group and tried many dishes. The atmosphere was nice, but the prices were quite high and the food wasn’t very good. The price-to-performance ratio was poor, so I wouldn’t recommend it.

I don’t usually write reviews, but our experience at this so-called “hotel” was so appalling it would be a disservice not to warn others.||From the moment we arrived, the entrance looked more like a neglected storage yard than a hotel. Hire bikes and rubbish were strewn around the entrance, making for a grim first impression. Stepping into reception, we were immediately swarmed by flies — yes, inside. The receptionist didn’t greet us, didn’t even look up. We were left standing awkwardly, ignored.||To add to the chaos, her child was in reception, wandering freely and even came over to us. Unprofessional doesn’t begin to cover it. It felt like we were intruding on someone’s living room, not checking into paid accommodation.||During check-in, the iPad system wouldn’t let me select my nationality. The receptionist entered it herself — incorrectly — and when I pointed out the mistake, her response was patronising and dismissive: “It’s in German.” I appreciated her speaking in our first language, but I know enough German to recognise that I am not American. No apology, no correction — just arrogance.||Things only got worse from there. Our room had multiple flies buzzing around, despite all doors and windows being tightly shut. The smell led us to believe we were above a kitchen. The sink tap was broken, and everything about the room felt grubby and uncared for. The armchair was so worn it still held the grooves of previous guests. It was depressing, unsanitary, and frankly unfit for paying customers.||When we raised the issue of the flies, the receptionist was rude and dismissive yet again, brushing us off with, “We’re near trees and a river.” As though that excuses an infestation and lack of basic hygiene.||We decided to leave and booked another place — easily the best decision we made all trip. But even then, the lack of professionalism continued. The receptionist didn’t have the basic manners to come out and speak with us. Instead, she sent a young staff member to handle it, clearly unwilling to take any responsibility for the disgraceful state of the room and her manners. ||This wasn’t just a disappointing experience — it was an insult to anyone expecting even the bare minimum of hospitality. Avoid this place at all costs.

What an absolute gem! Gerbermühle offers the perfect combination of exceptional food, warm and attentive service, and a stunning location right by the Main River. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between relaxed and refined — ideal whether you’re out for a special evening or just enjoying a long, leisurely lunch. The food was absolutely delicious — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every course felt like a treat. The staff were welcoming, professional, and made us feel genuinely looked after throughout the experience. The setting is simply unbeatable. With views over the river and a calm, stylish ambiance, it’s a place where you want to linger. Whether you’re dining inside or enjoying the outdoor terrace, it’s a spot that makes you fall in love with Frankfurt all over again. Highly recommend — this one’s a must-visit if you’re in town. Can’t wait to return!

Gerbermühle Biergarten The Biergarten at Gerbermühle has a great setting, open-air, right by the river, and surrounded by greenery. It's a lovely spot to enjoy a drink at sunset. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The food is disappointing: the Flammkuchen was undercooked and soggy in the middle, and the fries were limp. Prices are surprisingly high considering the poor quality. To top it off, €9 cocktails are served in plastic cups. Bottom line: great atmosphere, bad food. Come for a drink and the view, then eat somewhere else.

Love the pillow in the hotel room. What's the pillow description pls share with me. The location is great, situated a little off Central of the city. You get much more quiet environment with the river view. Next to a lovely park.

Google
Only rating the restaurant. Lunch today was very disappointing. What used to be extraordinary dishes has become just ordinary and quite overpriced (€186 without tip for 4 people and no alcohol). The Chef, Menu and kitchen team apparently changed in March. Rumpsteak with Peppercrust (€48) was a so-so steak with a bit of yellow pepper on top. Wildkraüter (wild herbs) Salad with Goat Cheese is now a very plain Spring salad with some chicken €28). The excellent Dorado fish dish has also been replaced (did not try it). A real shame since this was previously an excellent restaurant with exceptional quality. It was always a bit on the pricey side but the quality was there. Sadly, our final visit.

Yelp
So good. Perfect outdoor seating area and a friendly waiter. Recommend the Wiener-schnitzel and burrata. English friendly

Yelp
Combination Hotel/Restaurant/Biergarten gone upscale. Admittedly I never visited the old Gerbermühle. We biked over from downtown and were fairly hungry upon arrrival. The place is separated between Hotel Restaurant with an outdoor terrace and a regular biergarten. We were not aware that the two had different menus as we found seats in the biergarten. Actually they call it a Sommergarten which apparently fits the theme of going upscale from the previous version. The Sommergarten menu somehow just didn't make sense to me. The fare was sort of standard biergarten fare albeit with no Schnitzel. There was Handkäs, Rindwurst from Graf Vösling, Schweinshaxe, Spareribs, Lyoner Wurstsalat, and Flammkuchen. I guess the idea is that the new clientele is weight conscious so there was no bratkartoffel or Pomme Frites on offer. The meat dishes were served with a humble slice of rye bread and a dab of mustard. Somehow the concept just didn't work for me. We ended up bolstering our order with some handkäs (good enough) and the house special potato salad (unimpressive). The Schweinshaxe was fine and the rindswurst as well. Gerbermühle only offers the BInding line of beer (Römer Pils or Schöfferhoffer) so negative points there. There were a number of interesting looking wines on offer, none of which you'd be embarrrassed to drink but prices did seem slightly high. But I simply don't understand what they expect their customers to pair with a nice Rheingau Riesling or even a Veuve Clicquot. Does that go with the Rindswurst and mittelscharfe Senf? Or maybe the spareribs? I mean, if your winelist overshadows your beer list, shouldn't you offer food appropriate to the wine? Service was unexceptional. Ambience is lovely (direct on the Main). The Hotel itself has been renovated with an eye for design flair, succeeding here and failing a bit there. I'd like to try again for the regular menu.otherwise an OK place. I have to add there were two nattily dressed blokes there who were actually sharing a cigar (!!!). Frankly I'm a bit averse to going anywhere that let's that sort of thing go on without having a burly cook come out and bludgeon them to death with a schnitzel hammer.

Yelp
Dinner Review: Very interesting menu. We were really happy with it. It's pricey, but I would definitely recommend eating here because the food was all great. Try all the appetizers to share as well

Yelp
A few days ago me and my fiance went to the gerbermühle, because of its location close to the water in the greens. I ordered the dish of the week (its spargel/asparagus season) and a wiener schnitzel. spargel with potatoes came down to 20 Euros and the extra veal schnitzel was 9 Euro. So we have a price of about 30 Euro for a dish that usually in frankfurt is half the price, but of course i was expecting the best ingedients and a bit of shi shi with it for this price right ? I got 6 Spargels and 3 half potatoes and thats it literally. there was nothing else on the plate. I am like: alright nothing fancy. whatever. I am trying the spargel and it taste bitter, cause obviously somebody didn't peel and remove the ends in the right way. the best is that when the schnitzel arrived it wasn't pan fried it was deep fried. which is a way to prepare a schnitzel in a cheap pub for 5.90 Euro. the deep fried taste destroyed the flavour of the veal. resume: far to expensive for what it is or they WANT TO BE !!! sorry
