A true gem in the heart of nature Camping Gerês Vidoeiro is an absolute gem for anyone looking to stay in a peaceful and natural setting. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Nothing was too much to ask and their kindness really stood out. The camper pitches are clean, spacious and shaded, located right by the water. Simply perfect. There is a small bar on-site offering drinks and snacks, which we found very convenient. The sanitary facilities are basic, but that is to be expected when you choose to stay immersed in nature. That said, everything was cleaned thoroughly and multiple times a day, which we really appreciated. At the end of our stay we had a flat car battery, and the staff kindly helped us out with jumper cables. A big thank you for that. We highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for an idyllic nature escape with genuine hospitality.

The drive to the campground and the views of the park are absolutely beautiful. Once you arrive, though, the road—especially on the upper side of the camp—gets quite rough with potholes and could definitely use some maintenance. The campground itself is very peaceful, with a river and a lovely waterfall nearby. There's plenty of shade throughout the day, which is perfect during warm weather. The space is open and scenic, offering a great place to relax. The downsides are mostly related to upkeep. The staff was friendly but seemed rushed, and the washing area and grills really need more attention. They have great potential but aren't well maintained. Overall, it’s a great place with lots of space and fantastic views, but improving the roads and facilities would make it even better.

Super nice and calm, lot of natural shade and direct access to a little waterfall and natural pools. Traveling by bike in summer days this place was an oasis to spend the hot afternoon and to have a nice good night of sleep in our tent. We will come back!

Lovely site with easier access (for campervans) than others in the area. Quiet here in June with easy areas for vans and some really nice spots for tents. Direct access to river pools for swimming and some good signed walks around the region. Just for completion we tried a few other sites nearby and they were either limited in space / location or were really tricky to access/egress (and we speak as campers with a small -5.4m - van used to the small roads of the Lake District, Wales and Cornwall).

It's great, clean amentities, plenty of private spaces to put a tent, fireplaces and even a place to bathe if you are not afraid of cold water

The location of the campground is right next to a river with little waterfalls and Greeks where you can dip in very easy. You stand directly under big trees with loads of shade which is quite nice in the summer. The staff were nice and welcoming. There are two big walks you can start directly from the campground with viewpoints in the valley and waterfalls. The little village is also only a 20 minute walk where you can find little cafes, grocery shops and bars. Really loved the atmosphere there. The toilets and washing area weren’t as clean as I thought even right after they cleaned it. Would be great to improve that. Also the warm water wasn’t really warm unfortunately. And fixing things would be a great way to comfort people as the washing machine is leaking so badly that the cables are completely under water. Also the street towards the campground was very bumpy with deep wholes. That needs to be improved in my opinion because it’s hard to drive. All in all I can recommend this place as we felt comfortable the whole time. We paid 17,50 euros for a small van and two people without electricity per night.

It's a campsite, so there are no rooms, but what a delightful site! ... snuggled into the hill side, just north of the town, Villa de Geres ... the campsite is rustic and quite old fashioned, but that's its charm ... nestled in nature with the sound of the river never far from your tent, with very clean showers and toilets (AND with toilet paper, which isn't always the case, in Portugal) ... a thoroughly pleasant couple of days spent in this place! We came last year and we will be back again next; it's so tranquil and in one of my favourite parts of Portugal 🇵🇹 ❤️

Parties until the morning and complete disregard for the silence regime!🔇 We came to this campsite 200 kilometers away, for a one-day weekend vacation. Pitched a tent, staff was nice and hospitable. We went on the route and returned around 9 pm, planning to go to bed early to be able to go back to hiking in the morning at 7. Around 10 o'clock we saw a large group of young people actively preparing for a barbecue, there was a large music speaker and lots of alcohol. And then the whole thing started to go crazy, they were shouting, singing, listening to loudly cursing music right at the tables that were reserved for general use. They just came to have fun, and they chose a campsite for that, not a bar! There was no administration at that time, no one could calm down these gays 🤬 They finished this "show" only at 2 am, then only we managed to sleep. As a result, in the morning we did not go to the long-awaited hiking, tired and sleep deprived, we woke up, packed the tent and just went home. I don't recommend anyone to repeat our experience, because there is no administration at night - and you are never protected from such a situation, because if there was control and a campsite guard or other employee stayed overnight, this would not have happened for sure. A terrible experience that crossed out all the good impressions of this location.
