Amazing church atop a hill. The 360 degree view around the church is amazing. The village of stepansminda is visible from the top of the church. We came here in at ride, it was a fabulous experience, loved it. Absolutely recommended!!

Great views. Accessible only by 4*4 vehicles. Slippery in winter. 13th century church. Monks have lived there for the last 600 years. In the past water was an issue. Georgian elite used to hide here during invasions. 9 kilometers north in Russian border. תצפית יפה.

Gergeti Trinity Church in Georgia is a beautiful spot, but honestly, the real highlight is the hike to get there. The trek up is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains! Along the way, you’ll pass a stream with fresh, crystal-clear water, perfect for filling up your bottle and staying refreshed. The hike can be quite steep in parts, so make sure to wear proper footwear—hiking shoes 🥾 are a must. We were lucky enough to have TWO friendly street dogs guide us along the way, making the experience even more special 🥹 There are several trails around the church, including one that leads to glaciers behind the mountains, though this is only accessible during certain seasons. We really wished we had more time to explore Kazbegi and its surrounding hikes. For some great travel tips and hiking suggestions, check out Wonder Lush, a blog by Emily, a local who shares helpful advice on the area. It’s a must-do if you’re up for an adventure! 🏔️🐕👀🧊

This place is awesome. I went during the winter which made the mountains even more intimidating than they look during the summer. I did not experience any taxi mafias at the base road that brings you up but we did hire a taxi across the river in Kazbegi. I've seen other pictures during the spring or summer where this place is packed with tourists but when I was there there was no one else except for a man inside the church who I assume was just on guard duty. Our driver told us that there are monks that live in the church year-round, but of course I did not see any of them. If you have the chance to go and the weather cooperates I would recommend hiking up.

This church is at the top of a hill overlooking Stepantsminda. It’s a fun drive to get up there, and a neat little church to explore. The best part of visit has to be the mountain views. There were also people on horses and people with drones at the top.

If there is peace anywhere, this is the place. The monastery has a rare view of the valley. Huge mountains surround you and the closer you get to the temple, the more you think that the sky is just one step away. This place is always full of tourists. Locals take them to the temple in special cars. If you come here with the help of a guide, he/she will definitely know this. At the base of the temple there is a spring from where cold clean water comes, you can fill your bottles here. Do not be afraid to drink the water, it is really pure mountain water.

Absolutely beautiful place. And see it in the winter was such an amazing experience. So beautiful and peaceful place, but unfortunately, our time was very limited.

Absolutely stunning scenery and a beautiful Church on the inside. We went in the morning and after hours (maybe around 6 or 7). Both times there seemed to be the same amount of traffic. It's so close to the town, if it's a cloudy day and IF you miss the mountain views... It's easy to come back a second time. There's parking close to the church (packed and not many options) and a lot further off. It's not a long walk -15-20 minutes for me, but 10 for a active person. Being plus sized, I just paused a few times when it got a little steep towards the church. Take some photos, a deep breath, and continue on! Views are stunning from the top, of the city below. Road is so winding... Take a pill if you get nauseous easily! 😂
