Nostalgic, quaint, friendly and yummy! The ice cream flavors are amazing and the taste get the waffle cone! They have decadent chocolates 🍫 too and a retro candy section —-step inside and some historical signs and cute place to sit. Love it.

I was in town for the GT races at Road America and I had to stop for ice cream. You cannot get ice cream like this back home in New Jersey. Highly recommend this stop if you ever come to Elkhart Lake

Great place to have Ice cream. The look inside is old fashioned way. It was a busy day when we went, long queues expected on holidays. They have varieties of ice creams and tried Soda ice cream first time in Wisconsin. Friendly customer service. They have place to sit and eat.

The ice cream is good. Sundaes and other hand made items are fantastic served in old school, glass, dishes. The staff is always helpful and friendly. We make sure to stop by every time we are in the neighborhood. :)

We love the 90’s ice cream store atmosphere! We recommend this chocolate cones (delicious) and we loved the ice cream texture! Both flavours were also great!

A must-stop when we're in town - and it's worth waiting in line, which moves fairly quickly. They have a great selection of ice cream flavors, freshly made waffle cones, a section of nostalgic candy and handmade candies and fudge. The historic decor is fun to check out while you wait or eat inside.

So charming and quaint yet yummy! Not only a ton of ice cream but also a lot of gourmet chocolates and retro stuff. There is a cute area to sit down and in the back there is a lot of historical stuff. It is much bigger and cuter then you may think and ice cream is amazing. Enjoy!

Stopped here for ice cream this afternoon. Great selection of flavors. Ice cream was smooth and creamy and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Adorable place with old time soda fountain feel. Great ice cream.

You can tell the place has been lovingly cared for. Lots of old memorabilia tell you the shop has been around for a long time. Walking around looking at the wall decor and items about the local history brings reminders of the "old days". There are almost too many flavors to choose from. A nice array of sorbet for those who can't do ice cream. Lots of help behind the counter which makes the line move quickly. Pay attention the the number of scoops per the description. You get a LOT of ice cream. Great waffle cones. They also have fudge and an assortment of other candy, like a typical candy/ice cream shoppe. Overall a great stop when in the area!

If you love ice cream and history, you will love Gesserts. How can you not? Gesserts is a traditional American soda fountain in a historic town attracting locals and tourists since 1922. You simply cannot go wrong. I ordered a chocolate malt because that is my favorite. For the readers that may not know what a malt is without googling, all you need to know is that it's amazing. If you're from a country that drinks Milo, it's like a frozen ice cream version. Anyways, it was served properly! In a glass with whipped cream and a cherry with my personal favorite- extra malt in a large metal container, which I emptied the contents of the glass container into because the metal brings me back to the soda fountains from the 1950s. Ice cream options- there are plenty. My nephews loved the rainbow sherbert. Half of Gesserts is ice cream, half is candy which includes chocolates. I couldn't resist packaged sour candy belts. For a gift. Gesserts is a staple in this town. I truly hope you enjoy a step back in time. You can even see the original register, games and stools, which are preserved in the back room. Great place for souvenir candies and candy supplies.

Amazing old style ice cream parlor. If you're a regular on Elkhart Lake, you know this place. If you're going to be a regular on Elkhart Lake, you'll get to know it quite well. The only warning is that this place is addicting and hard to stay away from. Ice cream is counted "traditional style" aka a kid's scoop is one scoop, a single scoop is 2 scoops, and so on.

We stopped here after dinner on 8-18-2021 for a real treat. Great service and the most delicious ice cream I have ever had. Some unique flavors can be found here. Not the average ice cream shop for sure.

A true ice cream parlor. It reminded me of "It's a Wonderful Life" and full of history. Homemade waffle cones hand dipped in fudge daily. Many ice cream choices, fudge, candy, etc.

First time here. The atmosphere is nice. There is ssssooooo much candy!! Delicious fudge and decadent chocolates. I had the peach cobbler ice cream served in a cute old style dish. I LOVED it!! I will most definitely be back!

DELIGHTFUL! The step back in time atmosphere and decor was wonderful! The waitstaff is amazing - so cheerful, helpful and welcoming. It was a fave of our time in Elkhart Lake.

Great ice cream in restored historic ice cream parlor. New owners did a great job renovating the space while keeping the old time feel. Fudge is average (too sweet). Only qualm is that they don't serve some of the items that the previous owners used to serve (e.g. Ice cream sodas, grasshopper milkshake (mint cookie shake)).

We love this place. We live in Elkhart in the summer and go 4 times a week! The staff is happy and kind. Sometimes the line is long but moves quickly!!! Nothing beats gesserts!!!

No one was wearing masks and they don't label any allergens unless "the company" sends the label. Then they blame YOU for not stating upfront that you have an allergen.

This was such a unique gem of a place with friendly helpful staff and most delicious sweets to eat.

I love that it's renovated and serving delicious ice cream ... super popular in town. I was very surprised that they don't make their own ice cream, though, or candy (they make the fudge on-site, however). They serve two different brands of ice cream and it's all good, for what it is.

Had the freshest chocolate covered waffle cone ever. The chocolate coating was not even hard yet... IT WAS AMAZING! The girl working the counter was as sweet as can be! Take the back roads, it's worth it!

Stopped in on a hot Saturday afternoon. Old fashioned look with a new feel. They make you feel welcome and their "1 scoop" is really 2 and the prices are good.

This is an old time ice cream shop and soda fountain. They sell homemade fudge and a variety of confections and candy as well. We went with two in our party with allergies. One was allergic to bits, the other was allergic to dairy and both of them came away happy (they have dairy free sorbet available). This was really a wonderful treat!

Awesome place! Great Cedar Crest ice cream, always new flavors. They also have amazing homemade soda in a variety of flavors. Always a must when coming up to Elkhart.

Bought 2 single scoops in waffle cones for my niece and I a few weeks ago and wasn't blown away. I was sticker shocked by the prices, especially since it's ice cream you can buy at any grocery store. I like that the waffle cones are homemade, but to charge that much!? Oscars in Milwaukee makes theirs and it is the same quality but significantly cheaper. I loved the interior though!

Great ice cream parlor that is nicely renovated, while honoring its roots. They make their own waffle cones, and the place smells heavenly. The lemon sorbet was so creamy and refreshing!

First, I just need to say that I am certain the aroma that fills this place is exactly what heaven smells like. I went with a large group, 3 adults and 6 kids. They handled us beautifully, graciously giving samples and suggestions. Everyone loved their ice cream and the dipped homemade waffle cones were amazing! I had the Carmel explosion (I think that was the name) and it was soooooo good! I can't wait to visit again and try some more!
