We ordered a gluten-free and dairy-free number cake for my in-laws’ 50th wedding anniversary so that everyone in our family — including a member with celiac and my husband who’s allergic to dairy — could enjoy it. Unfortunately, by the time we got home (after a 30-minute drive with the cake kept completely flat), everything had slid off and the cake was a mess.
I called right away to explain the situation — not expecting a remake since it was close to the party and they were closing — but was told that I’d have to bring the cake back on Monday if I wanted any kind of refund or credit. That wasn’t helpful, given the timing, and we’re now stuck trying to salvage a broken cake for a once-in-a-lifetime event.
We’ve used Get Cake Bakery often because of our dietary needs, but the lack of care and flexibility here was really upsetting. This was a special moment for our family, and we’re truly disappointed.
