The room was absolutely filthy. Part of the lore of going to a hotel room is knowing that hundreds, maybe thousands of people have slept on the same bed as you have, but not being reminded of this fact with clean appearing sheets and a freshly made bed. Our sheets had blood stains (not mine nor my partners) and hair speckled about, which i had not noticed until the next morning. To my horror, i texted the staff, who had been really responsive, friendly and attentive via text, but were slow to remedy the situation.
I texted them at 8am and did not get the new sheets until 3:00-3:30, which prevented me from staying in and looking out the window from the bed since the stain was right there. The whole appeal of this place is the bed and the big glass windows overlooking the forest. When the sheets finally came, we had to put them on ourselves, which I thought was a little bit inconsiderate, but whatever. In the process of putting on our new sheets, we also found someone's "Oura Ring" charger next to the bed frame- further proof that they do not clean properly.
Next, we have the bathroom, which itself was okay, not much to complain about, but the TOILET. When my partner lifted up the seat to do his business, he noticed that under the lid was covered in feces which is extremely unacceptable.
Cooking in this cabin was also not what i expected, since the room is so cramped, the smells of the food, and subsequent garbage from said food lingers in the air, even with opened windows. The first thing i said upon entering the cabin was that there is no way that the cabinetry won't mold within months, maybe weeks with how the steam from cooking directly hits them without proper ventilation.
Pros: the fire pit, snacks, beverages, and quiet environment.
