Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center

This is a really good museum. The exhibits are well done and well maintained, the cyclorama is kind of amazing, and it even has a pretty good movie. I’ve been to a lot of battlefields and national parks and even though the park service sets a high bar everywhere I think Gettysburg is particularly good. I had visited before more than 25 years ago and think it’s improved over time.

This is one of a great museum, took a bus tour around the battlefields! The tour guide on the bus tour was very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. It definitely was a great experience for the kids to learn about history. Worth time to go and spend the whole day there and learn about the battlefields! You will have fun with that… definitely recommended

We bought tickets for the diorama, movie and museum. Great experience overall! The movie was education and well presented, lasted about 15 minutes. The diorama visit is about 15 minutes as well and is worthwhile. The museum is huge, you could spend all day there. The gift shop is great. We left with toy rifles for the boys to do their own reenactment of the battles. The cafe offers delicious options, my only recommendation is they should offer more table for seating. They only had about 4-5 tables and that was not enough.

It was an honor to see and feel where so many gave their lives for our country. Our country was founded in 1776 but our democracy was saved here at Gettysburg. If you are ever in the area, please stop by....your life will never be the same. One of the many things that stood out to me is when I read on one of the monuments, "Our faith is in God, but our powder is dry!" What a way to end 2025. Being here on the last day of the year is a great way and a reminder to leave what is behind and press forward and march to what is ahead. I trust God but my powder is dry

Amazing experience and lots to do and see. Especially cool if you explore in the mornings before it gets hot and crowded, and it’s great for biking. The surrounding areas are also amazing, being close to downtown Gettysburg where there is a lot to do.

We stopped in 30 Sept 2025 after engaging a tour guide for a “3 hour tour”, He had so much to tell us, he took 4 hours! Very informative and yet, so much could be said about the battles fought here. The Museum film and Cyclorama painting exhibit cost $40 for two seniors to see. The Cyclorama visit is timed but you can take your time walking the Museum. We visited the gift shop also. Tons of historical books there, along with glassware, magnets, and tasteful knickknacks. Lots of seniors and few school trips at this time of year.

Do NOT miss the film and cyclorama! Little Round Top is not to be missed as well. I think the auto tour is a great option; you can skip around and/or pick up from where you left off as much as you like for your whole stay, which is great for fitting it all into your schedule.

This was my second time visiting Gettysburg National Park. I was actually camping at Artillary Ridge which was about 5 minute drive. I could have hiked it. There has been a lot of changes. The museum has expanded and there was a special exhibit area. The Cyclorama is now an experience that starts with a film. Information is provided, directional markers have been installed so tou know where you are on the battlefield. The gift shop is nice and the grounds are lovely. You can take a bus tour to visit monunents or take the self guided audio tour. I highly recommend it, so much history.
