Geumganggul Grotto

An unusual and beautiful hike albeit not long, but the last part is up the steep stairs to the grotto with the small Buddhist temple inside. There was even a monk inside chanting giving a surreal atmosphere. Please leave a donation in the "Blessings" box. Enjoy the panoramic views outside.

Nice, flat walk. We wanted to continue to Oryeon Waterfall, but it was closed, so at least we went up to the cave. There is a sign, its closed from 9 to 14, but we saw people even at 15 and it seems its not an issue. There was a monk in the cave (he must be incredibly fit). The way up to the cave is steep, from stones or stairs, nothing for a person who is afraid of heights. But the view is totally worth it, it was amazing. Conditions: Rocky, Great!

Nice hike, through beautiful landscapes. The way up to the cave has many steep stone paths and metal stairs. It requires quite some efforts and one shouldn’t be afraid of heights. The view is well worth it, especially if one doesn’t have enough time to do a peak trail. There is a small temple in the cave which is also interesting to visit

We hiked up to this cave on Buddha's birthday. It was a beautiful hike up and down, even with rain on the way back.

Incredible view, no one there at midday

The cave is a little temple with an altar. The view is wonderful.

Het uitzicht is normaal prachtig. Wij hadden pech dat we er op een regenachtige dag waren. Toch hebben we geen spijt dat we de laatste steile wandeling gedaan hebben over de slipperige stenen en trappen. Boven in de tempel konden we even schuilen en werden we ook begroet door een monnik. Al bij al zeker de moeite waard en hopen voor mooi weer.
