"Located aboutan hour northeast from Reykjavík and part of the famed Golden Circle tour (along with Gullfoss), the Geysir hot springsarea consists of arounda dozen hot water blowholes, including the eponymous Geysir. The Strokkur blowhole is the most popular, principally because it regularly(every few minutes, usually) spouts its boiling water up to 100 feet into the air. It’s still worth looking around at the other pools, even if they haven’t erupted for years or even decades, since they usually offer interesting colors and bubbling geothermal activity. The site also hasa hotel, souvenir shop, café, and a related exhibition."

Very busy but worth it to see in person. You will park in the parking lot and walk across the street to see Geysir. If you go in the building it just has a cafeteria, restroom and gift shops. In the summer this place was so busy. The line for the restroom was very long so be prepared. Once you are across the street you will get to see the geysir blow and it’s worth the wait.

Amazing experience seeing the smaller brother of Geysir. The now dormant plume from which all geysers worldwide get their name. There are numerous other features as well that are fun to see.

As a geographer and an educationalist it's always a pleasure to get up close to a natural wonder.
Ones that are easily accessible are all the more brilliant- allowing the masses to experience and explore and learn about them.
This place offers accessibility to the wonder of tectonics and geothermal power that Iceland is formed from.
Many spaces here allow observation of the eruptions but patience is required amongst the crowds to witness larger flumes of water and steam.
Lots of well-maintained paths allow for the enjoyment of the surrounding nature.

This place is amazing. In our opinion, it was the best stop along the Golden circle tour.
At the entrance you may find a big parking lot, a cafe and a shop, as well as free toilets.
Definitely recommend stopping here if you happen to be in the Reykjavik area.

Seeing an exploding geyser live is a great experience. It erupts about every 5-6 minutes. Take your time and observe it from different spots in the area.

This is a must-visit in Iceland. It’s fun watching the steaming pools and Strokkur erupts every few minutes(this is the only one that erupts). Another fun part is watching people holding their phone still waiting for it to erupt. I heard that there are thieves around, but didn’t notice any. It’s always better to keep an eye on your belongings though.
The visitor center is also pretty nice with a restaurant and a huge souvenir store.

Amazing to see in person.
Would recommend bringing your own food/lunch because the lines at the restaurants here are massive. Even with the Cheese Panini being one of the best I have ever had.

Highly recommended if you want to see and experience the powerful elements of Icelandic nature. Beautiful walking terraces too. Expect to spend 30-60 minutes there and 0kr entrance fee. But, local restaurant is very pricey!
