Gery did a phenomenal job handling my taxes this year. She was professional, responsive, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. She explained things clearly, caught details I would have missed, and made sure everything was done correctly. Gery is definitely my go-to person for taxes, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant.

I originally wrote a 2 star review, highlighting my experience and Gery's poor communication skills, but received legal threats soon after. In the end, it turns out that her mistake is the reason why my refund was delayed, go figure (she typed in the bank account information wrong). Please do not work with this business. It's high volume and sloppy work, and in the end, you might get threatened with a lawsuit. Not worth it.

Gery is professional and responsive, and I greatly enjoy her services. She covered me while I went through life changes and greatly reduced my personal load. I've given her an unconventional case, which she untangled last year. This year, she was able to account for a personal LLC in stride. Her services are amazing, and she made my life easy. She found a bunch of deductions I had no idea about and explained everything in a way that made sense. I ended up getting a bigger refund and it felt way less stressful. The office was simple but clean and everyone was polite. Only thing I’d change is maybe offering evening hours but I was able to make it work. They also helped me plan for next year so I won’t get surprised again. Worth every penny. If you’re tired of guessing or worried about messing something up this is the way to go. I feel way more confident now that it’s all handled right. Will be back next tax season for sure.

Hi, I used Gery to prepare a return for me a couple of years. I used her to prepare 2020 for me. I had a couple of W-2s. One W-2 had an Illinois address through a consultancy but I worked in Indiana. So I filed a state return for IN & IL. I got a letter in the mail from Indiana. When I talked with a tax representative from Indiana this person mentioned that the IN state tax return was misstated. I went back to Gery to ask for help and she told me that it wasn't her fault the return was prepared incorrectly and would not help me. I think she should have at least reviewed it.

I have been using Gery for the last 10 years and continue to highly recommend her services. I have never had any issues with my returns. She was a real find after having a very unfavorable experience with my previous CPA. Gery expertly took on our tax return and we're first-time landlords so she was able to help us navigate through what to do. By contrast, TurboTax full-service was very unhelpful with the landlord experience, which is what led my wife and I to find help. It only took a few days to get our taxes done and I am very impressed with her clear communication and questios.

Here is an update! Not only did Gery ask me to remove the review, I got another bill because apparently there is another updated form that Gery should have filed with the state that she didn't. Also, oddly enough, I can't find her license number on IDFPR for either Gery or G&G Income Tax, meaning is likely not licensed, which she should be to do public accounting work.

Over the past several years, my taxes became much too complicated to handle with an online self-service platform. Gery was amazing! When I moved to Chicago, I struggled finding a tax preparer, so I attempted it on my own with TurboTax. I met Gery through a mutual friend at a networking event last year. We exchanged business cards and I followed the business on Facebook mostly to stay updated on current events. I just filed my taxes and am very pleased with the service G&G Income Tax provided. As a new client I was required to fill in 3 documents, which took around 5 minutes (at first it looked overwhelming, but she walked me through them over the phone). I provided Gery with all my tax documents and she contacted me a couple of days later. I reviewed and signed the return, paid Gery online and at the end was provided with an acceptance report from the IRS. We had a phone conversation as she asked me clarification questions which I am glad she did. Gery is friendly and easily approachable. I would be glad to work with G&G again next year!

Gery helped me file my tax. Last year was my first time ever filing taxes and i didn't even know where to start the process. I highly recommend G&G. Gery did an excellent job for us, particularly since we had a hard time understanding the changes in the tax laws since last year. She had our taxes prepared quickly, was very communicative with us during the process, and even walked us through the taxes once completed. The most helpful of the walk-through process was the comparison she did between previous and current year. It showed the changes in income, changes in allowances and deductions and identified the areas with the most significant impact to our taxes. We will definitely be using G&G going forward as tax laws change and to ensure we minimize our exposure to incorrect filings.
