Stayed here on a Saturday night in their main house family room. Room was fantastic and well worth the extra money. We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening which was nice. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic. The natural yoghurt with their poached plums and granola was delicious. Great selection of homemade jams and bread as well. We also had the cooked breakfast which was very tastey. The only thing I would maybe suggest is having some gentle back ground music on when people are dining as the silence in the room was a little bit awkward at times. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The house itself is in a brilliant location to the village and has plenty of room for safe parking for guests.

We had an amazing time at Ghan house beautifully situated in the heart of Carlingford on its own private grounds. an oasis in an already beautiful spot. The staff were fantastic friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much work. The breakfast is possibly one of the best I’ve ever had you have to try the pears with turmeric. The dining room was so elegant. It had beautiful antique China.. we had an excellent four course meal the scallops were a highlight five stars an amazing place for a short break.

Another great stay in this special place in a beautiful town. Excellent accommodation in every way, with first class breakfast worthy of any 5star hotel. Quiet bedrooms and grounds and still 2 minute walk to historic town of Carlingford.|The surrounding landscape of sea and mountain views are stunning, with amazing walks to the hills and on the flat.

It’s been a long time since we visited Cooley Peninsula. Too long! Despite some awful weather on our second day it’s a lovely house and a great town. Some would say it’s old fashioned but we say it’s a gem. The staff are all first class. They are very sensible, friendly and attentive. The dining food was absolutely wonderful .

Beatiful old villa, with an amazing restaurant! We went for the Easter lunch. Service is nice and professional. Great garden around the villa. My compliments also go to the fantastic French Chef who can combine flavors beautifully, bake and create delicious dessert! Highly reccomended

Wonderful relaxing atmosphere. We did not stay on this occasion but visited the restaurant. Excellent location, and atmosphere was warm and very welcoming. The staff were amazing as was the wonderful meal, which was very well presented and every bite was an experience in itself. Wonderful chef, we will most certainly return.

Beautiful unique place, highly recomended for quiet and more private stay. Just a sec from the centre of the village. |A lot of outdoor space to relax in the sounds of nature. Beautiful gardens are the bonus.

A roaring fire in the hall was a very warm welcome on a chilly February afternoon . Our first trip to Ghan house I hope will not be our last. The owner Paul was friendly & helpful. The bar a snug spot with an extensive selection of wines & spirits is a great place to enjoy a night cap. The breakfasts were delicious & piping hot & our meal on one of the nights of our stay was absolutely delicious . I cannot recommend Ghan House for an unpretentious country house hotel stay . Several restaurants within a 3 mins walk of Ghan house were also exceptionally good & the pubs all really lovely too. The bathroom had the most comfortable roll top bath , separate shower & period suite. I found the towels to be of a quality rarely found in five star hotels . They were super fuffy . I also noticed that a young waiting staff were , well informed & friendly with each other , including their boss

Yelp
Offers spectacular, locally sourced food. Meals out of this world, banqueting nights a speciality.Boutique style bed and breakfast service, fantastic and rooms fit for a Queen. Book well in advance however, expensive but well worth a visit for that special treat!!
