The staff was the best thing about this hotel. Everyone was nice and as helpful as they could be. The breakfast buffet had good options and the wait staff was very attentive. The room was small but clean. We had trouble with the air conditioning and the staff did the best they could to fix it. Being in a busy city, the noise level is quite high. Not the hotel’s fault so be prepared. Unfortunately, we could hear what was happening in other rooms quite clearly through the vent. Sound in the hallways was also quite loud in the rooms.

While my stay at this hotel had some truly commendable aspects, there were notable areas in need of improvement—particularly concerning guest service. The staff, especially those attending the dining area and front desk, did not convey the warmth or attentiveness expected from a property that identifies as a four-star hotel. On more than one occasion, I felt overlooked, including a morning when coffee was offered to every guest in the dining room except myself. This lack of inclusivity suggests a bias toward their usual local clientele, which unfortunately diminished the overall hospitality experience for a more international or active traveler like myself. That said, the room service was exceptional—punctual, efficient, and consistently delivering high-quality meals. Housekeeping deserves special recognition: the room was spotless every day of my seven-night stay, and the housekeeping team consistently carried out their work with a smile and a service-ready attitude. In summary, while the operational aspects—cleanliness and room service—met a high standard, the guest-facing staff, particularly at the restaurant and reception, would greatly benefit from focused training on service etiquette and inclusive, friendly guest interaction. With improvements in this area, the hotel could truly align its service level with the four-star designation it claims.

This hotel and well equipped for the tourist and business traveller alike in an excellent safe and central location. ||I experienced excellent customer service even before I arrived for my stay. My emailed pre-arrival enquiries were responded to promptly and in informative detail via WhatsApp.||The breakfast here is excellent offering a very good selection of local and European fare to suit even the fussiest of requirements.||The staff cannot do enough to help you - Special mentions to reception, housekeeping and the food and beverage team . The hotel is extremely well managed , with the staff being identifiable as the true asset; always smiling, very helpful with a 'can-do' attitude in delivering excellent customer service. First class all round and far exceeded my expectations. The hotel is a relatively short and leisurely walk from the main attractions of the city centre.||The facilities are well maintained. The gym is small but the cardio equipment is well-maintained and in good working order. There is also an very goo co-working space which I made good use of. ||The rooms are well equipped and cleanliness is excellent.||Throughout my travels in Colombia and the South/Central American region I have stayed in some very good hotels but the GHL Abadia Plaza has to rate as being my best experience to date without question. Here it's about a team of people who truly live the values of their brand!||Thank you Paiola Marcela Timana and your hardworking team. Keep up the good work. You are all a credit to the brand in personifying your corporate values. ||I look forward to retuning in May and for my summer break in July.

I read a lot of comments about people saying that the bed was really nice, which is one of the reasons we booked this hotel especially someone with a bad back. Unfortunately that was not the case. The beds seem to be super old, having dents in them from where people have laid on for years. The aircon temperature we couldn't change, It was set at 23° c which for us was kind of warm even when we lowered it to 19c...it stayed at 23.5c. We asked for them to fix it but sadly nobody came around to fix the aircon! The staff was for the most part friendly. The only thing we didn't appreciate was one of the ladies taking a personal call and having us wait 5 minutes at the front desk versus helping us (we know it was a personal call because my wife is Colombian and speaks fluent Spanish and after being in Colombia for 5 years my Spanish is decent) . Besides that the hotel was ok-ish.... The breakfast in the morning was nothing to great, basically your super basic hotel breakfast that you would find at a hostel! Needless to say we won't be back! As an avid world traveller visiting over 79 countries you expect a certain level of comfort and service that comes with a 4 star hotel. Definitely not a 4 star hotel! I would barley give them 3 stars!

This quaint hotel is in the heart of the city which makes it very close to food, shopping, and site seeing options. The hotel has it's own restaurant, offers FREE breakfast and I would recommend having the SOUPITA COLOMBIANA during your next visit.

This was a good hotel, in a nice area. The rooms were clean, and the ac worked nice. The staff were kind and helpful. The only downside was the breakfast, there wasn't many options, and the things they had weren't great. Otherwise, we liked this hotel and would recommend it to others.

Mixed review: They serve breakfast up to 9:30 - pics show the spread at 8:40 am, some leftovers. I went to server to ask where the food is, my wife speaks some Spanish so getting us some eggs but c'mon! But when it came it was tasty. No AC in hallways, room was 25C when we came in, 4 hours later went down by about 1.5C (but AC wasn't great in other hotels either). Room looked ok but lots of lights from hallway, electronic equipment, I spent time trying to cover it all as was hard to fall asleep. Staff doesn't speak English (not sure if that's normal here, English was spoken by staff in previous two hotels). Positive: Location is alright in downtown, hotel interior is quite nice, and they did help us arrange ride to hot springs But quite the let down after previous two hotels we stayed in, both with friendly staff.
