This place is so cute and perfect for a traditional Italian breakfast. The entire ambiance, food and service were great. The most memorable part about this bakery was the woman behind the counter. Her service was above and beyond and she made everyone feel so welcome. She even remembered the tourists who have recently visited the bakery. Come here if want to enjoy the perfect bakery!

Their dessert was mouth-watering. I had the ball shaped cream bun. It was just unforgettably well made. It was just so light to have, even though it was filled with cream and custard. It was creamy, soft, and not sweet. Must try! Their Croissants was outstanding, although it was not served warm.

Since Giacosa 1815 is the legendary birthplace of the Negroni, I was eager to stop by for a drink, and it didn’t disappoint. There was a table available right away, and the lady who served us was very kind and welcoming. Of course, I ordered the classic Negroni, and it was excellent and beautifully served. Prices were in line with most spots in the city center. The only downside was that when I asked to use the restroom, I was told it was closed for cleaning which felt a bit inconvenient in the middle of the day. Still, that was a small hiccup in an otherwise lovely experience. Definitely worth a visit for cocktail lovers.

We came here after doing a bit of research online, looking for a nice bar in the area. What convinced us to come was discovering that the Negroni was born here, and as Negroni lovers, it became an obvious choice! We were greeted by three young staff members who were super nice and friendly. The bartender who served us was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the menu. You could tell he was genuinely passionate about his craft. They offer the classic Negroni, of course, but also many modern variations, a very creative and interesting list. We chose the Negroni tasting experience, which allowed us to try six different variations between the two of us. Instead of each having the same three, the bartender curated a tasting so we could each try six unique ones by sharing every drink. It was a great way to explore the range of flavors. The interior is well-designed and stylish, though the coffee and pastry counter inside does throw you off a bit. From the outside, one side looks like a high-end cocktail bar, while the other looks more like a regular café, which can be confusing. We even noticed some people walk by, pause, and ask themselves, “Wait, is this it?” Honestly, for a place with such incredible heritage and history, it should have been much busier. The origin of the Negroni is something special and deserves to be celebrated more prominently. Right now, it’s not highlighted enough, especially from the outside. Unless you’ve done your research, you’d likely walk past without realizing the significance of the place. My suggestion to the marketing team would be to emphasize the heritage and story of the Negroni more clearly, not just inside, but visibly for people walking by. This bar has all the potential to be a true destination for cocktail lovers, and it deserves a line out the door

Wonderful experience in every way. We came one evening for Negroni and returned the next morning for coffee and croissant. The staff were excellent and so attentive. The best service we had in Florence. The Negroni and explanations were fascinating and a huge variety. We even had a rum based Negroni for those strange ones who aren’t into gin!

Stunning bar with a stunning cocktail menu to match it. We enjoyed the classic negroni served with snacks. Another round of snacks were served with each cocktail ordered. The snack served in a cone was our favourite. There is lots of seating with minimal window seats. There are additional seats in the back. The pastries on display looked great. Bathroom was available downstairs. Those with mobility issues will have trouble accessing the washroom. Cocktails are on the pricy side but worth it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Negroni Lover’s Paradise at Giacosa, Florence As a passionate Negroni enthusiast, stumbling upon Giacosa while exploring Florence felt like striking cocktail gold. I later learned this very location holds historical significance—it’s where the Negroni cocktail was first conceived! That alone would’ve made my visit memorable, but Giacosa exceeded all expectations. The bar itself is an elegant blend of modern sophistication and Florentine charm. With sleek marble tables and mirror-glass accents, the interior feels upscale without being pretentious. The deep blue and tan color palette adds warmth and richness to the ambiance, making it a place you want to linger in. But the true star? The Negroni menu. Giacosa offers more Negroni variations than I’ve seen anywhere else in the world—each thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and true to the spirit of the original. Whether you’re a purist or curious to explore creative takes, you’ll be in Negroni heaven. To complement the cocktails, they serve delightful sweet bites and savory snacks like traditional cheeses, parfaits, and olives—perfect companions to the bold, bitter-sweet profile of a Negroni. We had a fantastic time and left feeling both inspired and satisfied. If you have even a passing love for Negronis, Giacosa should be at the very top of your Florence to-do list.
