Alright....small quaint brewery with excellent beer choices. The owners are great and down to earth... very personable. This place is clean and trendy. Also, the tables and benches are real wood with wheels, and they are beautiful. Dog friendly, which is always a plus. Every beer that I have by this place is very solid. I'm glad I finally made it to GJB. It's worth the stop...for sure.

A great local brewery, Jess and Erika have put together a wonderful operation! I'm so proud of you guys and so privileged to have the opportunity to help your business grow and thrive. Thanks for having me and I wish you great success for years to come!

Google
I have been to a LOT of breweries. At this point....maybe 150...this is a fantastic tiny brewery. Sometimes they have 3 beers on tap and sometimes up to 6. All their beers are very complex, many are old and traditional, some are really BIG beers, and all are very good. The owner/Brewers are a pair of awesome women that really enjoy their craft and talking beer. The location...well it is a big garage with a Brewery in it. It also happens to be next to a distillery and it is dog friendly. On my first stop they had a double stout, double IPA, Kornbl, Dopplesticke, and a Golden Strong.....those ranged from a 7.6% to 9.2%....so put you party pants on if you are thirsty and plan on an Uber. Cheers!

Wait they do fair wage here?! Getta outta here. That's awesome! Beers are great, staff are friendly, swipe your card and no worry about signing anything! Fantastic! I didn't see additional tip jar anywhere when I was there. It'd be a place I don't mind tipping extra.

Google
We were excited to visit this brewery after looking at their tap list and talking to a few other brewery fans. All of the beers we tried were good, but they sounded a little better than they ended up tasting. All of their beers are high ABV which normally we expected to be a little sweeter. Maybe being an organic brewery changes the taste a little? We didn't dislike anything we tried, they were all good. But nothing really wowed us either. This is a good brewery to sit and think. There isn't much of a bar area. They include taxes and tip in all prices which seems very fair. They aren't open too often but were worth a visit.

Google
Friendly neighborhood craft brewery only open a couple days a week. Not open very late. Taster prices are very reasonable. Taproom located in the brew house. Check out all the pipes and the roof.

The upside of enjoying one of the tasty brews from Giant Jones during a snowstorm is the short line to get served.😁 Loved the Belgian Blonde. Great aromatics and smooth drinking. What a nice place ... will visit again when we can open the doors without snow blowing in. 👍

Google
This was an average brewery experience. We went there with high hopes and left a bit disappointed. Our friends were there before us and by the time we showed up, they had already left for the distillery around the corner due to not feeling the vibe and not enjoying any beer they ordered. All available beer was high abv, which I normally don’t mind drinking. But again, this is not going to be a place we return to as both beers we ordered were not very good. Check it out for yourselves, but if you are looking for a traditional experience (i.e. amber, IPA, stout, porter, hef, pale ale, etc.), you will not find anything like that here. Staff was average also, focusing on what seemed like friends sitting at the small bar, a plain physical experience is how I’d describe it, and the location was quite slow on a Saturday night.

Yelp
Very inviting place to go, right by all the music venues on the east side. Lots of great selection of taps & friendly staff willing to give samples. We lucked out as they were having a fundraiser for Dana P for office and got free Glass Nickel pizza, also delicious!

Yelp
Best beers in Madison, hands down. Great locale in an industrial warehouse between downtown and Willy Street. Fascinating selection of big beers with big flavors. The folks behind the counter are welcoming and helpful. Try the brandywines. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Awesome spot in a pretty cool location. All of their prices include tax and tip which is pretty cool. It's woman owned and entirely organic. They brew a lot of traditional European beers, and they pack a lot of flavor. I had to take some bottles home with me as I'm not normally in the area!

Yelp
This beer is spectacular. Jessica has the whole idea of beer dialed in. You should come here simply to revel in what well crafted beer offers. AND, it's organic! I cannot express how amazingly impressed I am with this brewery.

Yelp
Was at the grand opening of this brewery a few weeks ago and I wanted to review it right away, but there was no Yelp page yet. Now that it exists, I can say this is a definitely a fun new brewery in Madison! For the opening there were 4 beers on tap, which seems like that will be the norm, with rotating seasonal beers. First thing, these beers all have a higher ABV, so not for people who want a light drink. I ordered the Pale Weizenbock which was at 7.3% ABV, the lowest of the beers. It was pretty smooth, not overly hoppy, and a pretty pleasant summer beer to sip on. My friend got the IIPA, which definitely had hops to it! Probably a good sign based on the name. She was a big fan of the fruit notes which came through in it. We'll have to go back to try the other two beers currently on tap. The tasting room is pretty small, but it's also fun that you're right in the action with the brewing equipment. There were only a few tables because the space is small, but they were all long, so you could make friends. The artwork is also pretty fun. I'm excited to see what comes next for this brewery!

Yelp
Great bears, friendly service, fun, funky atmosphere. So glad we stopped by to have a flight. Or two...

Yelp
Stopped in for beers, and the owner/server/explainer/brewmaster (she does it alllll) was so friendly, and it was nice to see the brewing taking place in front of us. The dark weizenbock was so good!

Yelp
Giant Jones is the real deal! The first time you visit, it may be a bit difficult to find but, once you're there, you may never leave! The environment is one part cozy, one part industrial, and all parts delicious beer. It is a certified organic brewery, which is always nice. The Giant really means that the beers have a giant serving of alcohol. I believe all of their beers have over 7% ABV. They have a variety of portions they can serve you, from a small taster, to a large 16 oz pour. They also raise money for local organizations with some of their beer creations, which is always a wonderful thing! You can carry in food and hang out in their chill environment. Giant Jones is also part of some of the Maker's Markets in town, which spotlights local artists and makers. Drop into Giant Jones and try some delicious beer!

Yelp
A small venue, but a tasty group of beers. Patio seating available, an awesome logo! The tables were so cool. Wished I could have taken one table home!

Yelp
Giant Jones Brewing Company is a nice, little microbrewery in Madison, Wisconsin worth checking out. Specializing in some larger ABV brews, Giant Jones tasting room is a nice spot to have a pint and take home some of their craft offerings to drink at home. On a recent visit to Giant Jones they had four of their own offerings on draft and then a couple local options alongside. I opted for the Pale Weizenbock which came in at 7.2% ABV but the profile and taste of the beer masked the higher ABV with a really nice flavor profile. A weizenbock is not a beer you will find each microbrewery pumping out therefore kudos to Giant Jones for doing something a little bit different and doing it really well!

Yelp
A new, quaint little brewery that is definitely worth checking out. My favorite part? That it is a women-owned brewery! When we went, the owners were there serving us our drinks. They were very friendly and willing to answer the questions we had about their selection, as well as their business, despite being super busy from the festival that was going on down the block. By the way of decor, the bar and tables looked to be handcrafted and had a very outdoorsy feel. There were some seats, but mostly appeared to be "standing room only," I'll call it, at the bar and some of the more centralized areas, which I actually liked. There weren't many chairs to dodge and the tables had more of a community feel; so, we actually got to chit chat and mingle with people nearby who were outside our group. The artwork was stunning. It was unique and colorful and I wish it was in my price range because there were definitely a few pieces I wanted to take home with me! There weren't many options as far as beer go. Granted they had just very recently opened when I went; so, this may have changed. I think there were only 4 options. You can either buy a small sample pour or commit to a whole glass. I like when places offer sample sizes for purchase because it keeps indecisive people like me happy and engaged in the beer experience. After trying the beer they had, I found I wasn't a huge fan of the barley wine, but particularly enjoyed the weizen. Now that's it's been a while since I have been there, I'd like to check it out again and see how it has evolved, if at all! There weren't many "complaints" I had to begin with, but since it had just opened, there may well be some differences in place. I guess I'll find out!

Yelp
Erika and Jessica have a great thing going with their selection of big (higher ABV) and tasty beers. A group of ours had the pleasure of touring their brewery and enjoying a number of their delicious brews. Their knowledge and passion for beer are evident! Look forward to returning soon!

Yelp
It has been said vision without execution is just a hallucination. These two are making it happen. Super cool couple, that put on a lot of events with different places. I very much appreciate what they are doing and the outreach and community they are actively trying to build. I attended a beer and charcuterie paring this fall. We had a great time at the taproom, that can be a little hard to find. They had a bunch more events that you should attend, listed on their website. Giant, I believe, refers to the abv - all big beers on tap. Passion is not to be underrated. We will continue to see a lot more from these folks I am sure.

Yelp
Giant Jones Brewing Company's beer delivered on uniqueness, flavor and ABV. I had to cancel plans to visit Madison pre-COVID so I didn't get a chance to experience their taproom--but I'm here now and they have online beer orders and pick-up on Saturdays so I was still able to buy and try a few! I was also greeted and helped by both Jess and Erika. They were so nice! No matter if you live here or are visiting, you should 100% stop by and support this local, women-owned brewery!

Yelp
I love the Giant Jones tap room. The beer is excellent and modestly-priced, the atmosphere is friendly and so is the staff. Inside, you'll find about a baker's dozen of their brews, plus a guest tap and some non-alcoholic fizzy drinks if you need a break. My favorite beer is the Grand Tripel... no, the Porter... no, the Weizenbock... honestly they're all great. If it's warm enough, the huge garage door will be open to let in the breeze and they allow dogs if you happen to have your fury companion with you when you get thirsty. The interior has a warehouse-feel with tables made of reclaimed wood and art populating the walls and the (gender-neutral) restrooms are always clean. It does get a little echoey when crowded, but it's not unbearable by any means--especially when the door is open. It's only a few years old, but this brewery feel right at home in the Willy Street neighborhood. Food is limited to a few snacks, so if you're feeling a mighty hunger, be sure to stop by one of the neighborhood restaurants to grab a sandwich or burrito to bring in with you. Like variety? There's a distillery around the corner, plus a meadery and a handful of other bars within easy walking distance.

Yelp
I have been here several times and have purchased Giant Jones beer at several area liquor stores, but somehow never got around to a review here. I love this brewery. I was at a beer and cheese tasting at my former church led by Jessica months before she and Erika opened the brewery. It was fun to see it all come together and I remember coming in on opening day. Super tasty, heavier beers of different varieties. It is fun to buy several $1 small pours and taste-test. My favorite is the pale weizenbock - likely my favorite beer of all time (which I do not say lightly as a wannabe beer snob). There are lots of great events here, such as food tastings, dinners, etc. It is a great, welcoming space that is run by knowledgeable and friendly people. Go here! And, if you're like me, bring food along and maybe take an Uber/the bus as the high-ABV beer can get you!

Yelp
I visited this brewery for the first time this weekend! I LOVE the idea of a female owned and operated brewery - cheers to that! The beer was fantastic and the atmosphere is very relaxing. You can tell the space is new, but I'm excited to see how it transforms over the next year. The Credible Pale Ale was excellent and 100% of the profits go to the Dane County Rape Crisis Center. Incredible work, Giant Jones! I'll be back! (also, note the limited hours - they are open Thursday, Friday, Saturday 4-10p)

Yelp
Can not recommend this place enough. GJ is the perfect summer meeting spot to fit the whole gang into. With consistently excellent service, solid beers and a welcoming atmosphere, GJ is quickly becoming a "must see" in madison. Women owned.

Yelp
Really cool environment reminds me a lot of San Diego breweries. They allowed parties to bring food in. Owner is super friendly and accommodating . We tried every single beer on the menu, all very strong ! You'll enjoy
google avatar

Craig M.

Yelp
Have not yet been to the brewery and I hope the fresh beers are better than the experiences I've had with their bottled stuff. Recently had the Dark Weizenbock and the Scotch Ale; both had very noticeable fusel alcohol nose and taste, very off putting as well as disappointing.

Yelp
Visited this site for the first time 2 weekends ago and very much enjoyed the beer and atmosphere. Still a very new business, but the beers were good and Jessica, the brewer/owner, was more than willing to answer any questions about the new business and her purpose behind it. Very excited for this brewery to join the east side!

Melissa M.

Yelp
Strong beer selection is okay. However, they don't seem to know that they cannot charge an opening fee for their bottled beers. Illegal. They should brush up on their liquor license details.

Desdemona E.

Yelp
Fantastic beers - never had a bad one...all great renditions of whatever style they are. The American Barleywine is my personal favorite. They also did a braggot with BOS meadery that was amazing and unique. Jessica (the brewer/owner) is always friendly and willing to educate and answer questions about the beers. We stop whenever in the area. Since it is a small brewery, the tasting room hours are limited...but worth the effort to go to when they are open.

Sasha S.

Yelp
Excellent. My partner and I are huge beer fans. We tried a diverse array of the Belgian triple, a porter, and an imperial IPA. All were excellent. Impressed by the ability to do awesome versions of such different styles. Plus we could bring our pup inside and order delivery food to eat there. Will be back.

Hanna G.

Yelp
By far the best brewery I have been to on the East side of Madison. Extremely friendly service, chill vibes and great beer. They add in the price of tax and tips and everything was still a super reasonable price. Loved it.
