Amazing place, great views of the snowy mountains. Although small, the plants are beautiful. Recommended

Nice botanical garden with mostly local and some foreign mountain plants. We visited in July and there were lots of flowers in bloom and different kinds of butterflies.

Very informative garden to learn more about the flora and fauna of this region. It helped us to identity flowers which we saw on our previous walks in the valley. Unfortunately it was quite windy therefor there were not so many butterflies. An other reason for that, we were informed, the best time for butterflies in the botanical garden is July. Different regions of the nature reserve Grand Paradiso have different prime times for flowers and butterflies. There is also a very informative book (in different languages!) on the garden : "Paradisia giardinobatanicoalpino" which can be obtained at the entrance as well as a general brochure.

Great place, where you learn how plants adapted to cold and high elevations.

The botanical gardens are closed/ chiuso now! June 2019. They are under construction, but signs do not indicate the closure and definitely can't figure out where to park.

Very well tended gardens with many informative name plates identifying the plants. Even markers on boulders identifying leichens. You can tour the gardens even if the visitors center is closed. Can be chilly in late September.
