While visiting Via Appia Antica we stopped at the Giardino di Giulia e Fratelli for lunch. Immediately, we felt a homey atmosphere. Sit where you like, they said. A young waiter brought us menus of Italian delights, and we ordered salads, bruschetta, pasta amatriciana, and, of course, more bread. It was all served in a timely manner for Italy, and and it was all delicious.
It's mostly an open air place, but this day, we were inside a zipped plastic enclosure with astroturf floor. It's obvious that locals and tourists alike enjoy this place.
