On the Grid : Giba Park

"Take a walk to the top of the world and see Sydney in all its glory at Giba Park. With views of the iconic Harbour Bridge, and the newly formed precinct of Barangaroo, this beautiful cliff top area is the perfect place to get a birds eye view of Sydney Harbour. Take a stroll down the unique meandering paths, or rest on the sandstone benches." - Thinkbone

Great spot to take photos of the harbor 🌉 from a different angle instead of circular quay Opened in 1996, the park is named after the Aboriginal word for stone reflecting the importance of the material quarried from Pyrmont.Giba Park is on the cliff-top at the end of Point Street, overlooking Pyrmont Point Park and Sydney Harbour

A lovely park with a high elevation to watch the Nye fireworks from. The NYE event is regulated so you cannot bring in glass (no wine or beer bottles) so plan around this.

I just moved to Pyrmont and stumbled across this park the other day. Potentially a hidden gem in the area as the views across the harbour are fantastic. And if you're here for New Year you have a fantastic view of the fireworks with quite a small crowd of people

The view is beautiful. The sandstone seats and stairs add to the aesthetic. There's a lift nearby on Pirrama Road. The skyline view from this vantage point is beautiful. You can also view Balmain and Barangaroo from here.

There are also general theories on the use of these types of carved seats and stones as astronomical observatories to align with ley nodes and interstellar consciousness links with our original founders, as has been claimed for certain cosmomimesis ritual sites in sacred sites in Arnhem Land \ the massive menhirs here when euro colonisation came were linked to the alignments for such a purpose. not a bad place to hang out

We had a great experience there. We saw the new year for work. And that was the great view from there. Love the environment

Yelp
A park which overlooks Pirrama Park and Sydney Harbour on the cliff end of Point Street in Pyrmont. I think I have only been here a few times but I think that's something I should fix by going here more. It has fantastic views of the harbour and of the Sydney Harbour Bridge which is good for picnics, taking a nap or watching the fireworks. There are a number of benches located around the park which are carved from sandstone which is a nice touch and something different compared with other places. Good for people who lives around Pyrmont to go relax and enjoy the breeze, and its also good for people in general to go have a picnic or just to enjoy the views.
