After exploring central Munich, we asked ChatGPT for suggestions on more local experiences nearby, and it recommended Giesing. We took a bus and arrived in about 20–25 minutes. After walking around the area for a bit, we decided to try a beer at this historic and traditional brewery. We arrived around 5 PM. The place wasn’t full, but they asked if we were going to eat. When we said we were only here for drinks, they didn’t seat us at a table and instead directed us to the bar area. This wasn’t a big issue, but considering the place has two floors and plenty of tables, it would have been nicer if they let us sit at a table. We tried three different beers: Das Weißbier, Das Dunkle, and Münchner Hell. Das Dunkle was my personal favorite 🍺 By the way, you can also order a beer tasting set, which comes in 100 ml glasses—perfect if you want to sample a few varieties. I’ve attached photos of the beer selection and the menu. In terms of both price and taste, we found it quite good. I think it’s worth stopping by here to give some local flavors a try while in Munich 🍻 Also, the outdoor garden area looked really nice—definitely worth checking out if the weather is good.

Wonderful selection of delicious beers! I tried 6 different beers, fabulous! The Schweinebraten was great too!

Google
Great choice of beer, all taste absolutely good. The service was quick and the food was cooked very well. I also appreciated the atmosphere; there were places outside with a view of green trees, so it was a pleasure to drink their beer, eat, and have a rest.

Been here many times, always amazing. Food may seem pricey but it is worth every cent. Have never eaten anything that wasn't absolutely delicious and portions are decently sized. Beer selection is perfect, wide variety with classics always available but seasonal options often widening the options. Service is great, it always feels as if the people working there are enjoying it. Definitely reserve a place before going, it can get very busy there.

Google
At the Oktoberfest some locals recommended this place as the best beer in Munich, so we tried it out. The place was amazing, at the end of 5km walk though parks this place was there. The service was super great, with lovely recommendations to drink and to eat. Food was very good and the price is fine. We tried some beers, very good ones, unfiltered, red APA, and more. Definitely a place to come back.

Service is quite fast here, we were a group of 17 people and they served us very quickly. Since they have their own breweries so u will get good quality of beer here and my dessert was really great. Expect big portions of meals here.

Google
A very cool bar/restaurant with a very small beer garden. They offer a wide assortment of their own beers, most pretty good, and have a limited but tasty menu for those interested in a real meal. My salad (Salat) with chicken tasted great, but one thicker piece of chicken was not cooked through. The others were done perfectly, though, and were very moist. The salad was also available with a grilled goat cheese patty, and it, too, was tasty. My son order the pork roast (Schweinsbraten), and it was great - especially the gravy and the bread dumpling (Knödel). Downstairs in the bar area (we ate on the terrace) had a live music ukulele karaoke event going on, and the bar crowd seemed really into it.

Yelp
We as just arrived in Munich and this place was right near our Airbnb so we decided to try it out. It was absolutely delicious! We are Americans and speak very little German, they were very kind and gave us an English version of their menu to make it easier for us to order. The food was delicious and the beer was amazing!

Yelp
This mircobrewery right off the U2 is a refreshing "hop" from the big Munich breweries. If you're an American visiting, don't expect the enormous field of play you see in a typical US microbrewery. These brews absolutely push the boundaries of what one would consider traditional in Germany, and that feels just right for the area. The beers were well done and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food looked great though we were just there for drinks. We had a lovely time talking to the sales clerk in the brewery store downstairs (stop there for shirts, glassware, etc) about his eclectic beer can collection from all over the world. Turns out, beer people are beer people the whole world 'round. Always a delight to make new friends! Try out this little spot for something that's both different and quintessentially German. Prost!

Yelp
Very good brewery with both traditional German styles as well as some more innovative brews. I had a weissbier and a dunkle and they were both really well brewed and full of flavor. Service is good and the bar in the brewery is pretty nice.

Yelp
Delicious beer, and good-looking food. We had several beers, but by far our favorites were the Untergiesinger Erhellung and the Geisinger Märzen--both were amazing. We also had a pretzel, which was tasty but a little dry. Overall, would definitely recommend! P.s. The Sternhagel was a little funky, maybe skip that one.

Yelp
Giesinger is a charming little brewery south-east of München. It's roughly a 5 minute walk down Silberhornstrasse from the U-Bahn station. When you enter there's an outside deck and a walled in parking lot that's used as a biergarten during the good weather (this is also where you pick up your cases of beer if so inclined as there's a little shop to the side). Inside there's the brewery to the left, the bar straight ahead, and a small amount of tables as well as an entire upstairs floor and bar above. They're known for their unusual brews and they will not let you down. They usually have 6 to 8 on tap, and then a number of their more creative bottles. They do all kinds of beers, American, Belgian, and English as well as the standard German fare. There's food as well, and although I didn't try it I was impressed by the appearance and smell as it passed by me.

Yelp
Perfect for a late afternoon beer. Weissbier and forspeis together is perfection.
